Joy In A Memory

These sweet little birds caught my eye a while ago when I was in a craft store.
The minute I saw them I thought of Grandma Betty - oh how she loved birds!
So I bought them thinking I would use them to make her something special....

Now that she has gone to be with the Lord I cannot give her the birds,
but I decided to make something for me to remember her by.
I love seeing them on the wall because my thoughts wander back
to when she would sit at her kitchen table and look contentedly out at the birds in her yard.

I chose to put "Joy In A Memory" on the canvas blocks
because I have sweet joy when I think of  my Grandma.

To create this wall art,
I used canvas blocks and painted each one a different color.

I applied Mod Podge over the letters and then coated the whole block.

I used paper flowers, lace and beads to create the finished look.

I am thankful for precious memories and the joy they bring.
Have a blessed day and enjoy your long weekend, beautiful friends!

P.S.
I am growing my page on Facebook and would love for you to stop by
and "like" The Enchanting Rose :)

Hi Stephanie! What a lovely way to remember your dear grandmother. When I go shopping often something will stop me in my tracks and remind me of my little mother. Since she passed away, I miss being able to make gifts for her. Sometimes I will knit or crochet something in her favorite color and design it just the way I think she would have liked it. It brings back many happy memories. You have such a tender heart and I really appreciate all of the wonderful comments you leave on my blog! I hope you have a nice evening ahead. With Love, Delisa :)

Have a very happy, long weekend. xo

What a beautiful craft and a great way to use the sweet little birds. How meaningful to be able to remember your sweet Grandma with these. You decorated them so lovely!

The birds remind me of my Grandma too- she always used to love watching the birds out her window over breakfast. I'll always remember her love for that.

I hope you have a blessed and beautiful weekend, Stephanie!

Love and hugs to you!

You know, Stephanie, even though we're miles apart, I think we're experiencing some of the same things. I've been thinking of my dad quite often these days and recently captured an image that will help me to remember him as well. (It's on the Memorial Day post.) May God continue to grant you strength in all your sweet remembrances of your Grandma. <3
