A "Crabby" Father's Day

I hope everyone's week is going well thus far.
The weather is supposed to be quite warm here this week
so I will probably be staying out of the sun and working in my craft room.
What are your plans for the week?

My son and I made a cute picture as a gift for Father's Day
and I thought I would share it with all of you :)

We used a large white canvas for this project,
but you can definitely use a smaller one.
We also used paint, glitter, Mod Podge, and sea shells.

My son dipped a sponge into the paint

and "sponged" the canvas to give it a nice blue and white look.

We then let it dry for a little bit
and later applied Mod Podge to the bottom

then sprinkled glitter onto it for the sand.

We painted a sun up in the top corner
and my little guy wrote out with a marker,
"I love you, Daddy!
Happy Father's Day!"

Next we painted my son's hand with red paint
and firmly pressed onto the canvas.
The hands made the crab.

Once it dried we added two eyes
and then later a smile.
Sorry, we didn't add the smile until after I had taken the pictures.

And finally we used hot glue to apply sea shells to the sand.

Enjoy your week.
Blessings and hugs to you!

Brilliant, I was looking for ideas on cards to make for father's day, I really hope I find to make this! It's hard to find time when dad isn't here to make cards, especially if paint is involved. But I always love making cards out of handprints, then you can see how much they have grown the year after! Thanks Stephanie! x

Hi Stephanie,

It is really too cute...makes me smile. His daddy is sure to love it.

After an extremely hot Saturday, we enjoyed a breezy cool Sunday and Monday. I'm not sure what this week is going to be like. I love cool weather, but if it is warm, I should take advantage of it and get some color for my upcoming trip to Florida. I don't like sunning much.

:) Hope

Adorable! I love that it's on canvas instead of paper so you can easily hang it up as a long time reminder of his sweet little hands. Thanks for sharing, Stephanie!

Beautiful! I was at first worried at the title of your post. I thought, "if she's anticipating a crabby Father's Day and it's still days away... she must really be upset about something." I'm relieved to see that it's just a wonderfully creative gift!!

Blessings, Debbie

That is adorable and what a great gift for dad from his son! I miss having little ones around. I loved it when my kids did crafts with me and then later my granddaughter when I got to baby-sit her for 5 years before she went to school. Have a great day! hugs
