Father's Day Tie Clip Card

Hi sweet blogging friends!
I want to apologize for being missing-in-action this week.
I have not been able to visit your lovely blogs and I am sorry for that.
Tuesday I was away all day with my hubby and son, Wednesday I was gone with my mom,
and Thursday I had jury duty :)
So hopefully I will get around to visiting this morning since I have missed many of you!

Now onto a fun Father's Day gift....

My dad is a lover of golf
and he always wears a tie clip when he goes to church
so when I saw this golf tie clip I knew it would be the perfect Father's Day gift for him.

It seemed kind of boring to give my dad the tie clip in a box
so I decided to make a card that resembled a man's shirt
and I attached the tie clip onto the card.

The card is still fun to make even if you don't use a tie clip.

To make the card you will need card stock folded into a card,
a strip of paper that is about 2.5 inches wide and 5.5 inches long,
and a tie cut out of card stock.

Fold the strip of paper in half.

Fold in one side of the strip.

Fold in the other side and you will have a collar.

Then apply the tie to the card and the collar to the top.
Add a button to finish it off.

To attach the tip clip I used a glue dot on the higher side

and mounting tape on the lower side.

I placed the tie clip over the tie and voila!
A fun Father's Day gift :)

Have a wonderful weekend, sweet friends!

That is such a neat card, Stephanie!
I am really at a loss for men's cards, and the store's are so boring. You look so pretty in the pic with your dad.

Your posts remind me that I must buy some rhubarb! And write down your recipe!!
