Who doesn't love a good fajita?
My favorite ingredient for fajita's are the sauteed peppers and onions :)
I used to buy fajita sauce at the grocery store, but have noticed that it's getting harder to find.
Maybe it's just my grocery store.....
So now I make my own seasoning and find it to be more satisfying and flavorful.
Ingredients for fajita seasoning:
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic pepper
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
In a small bowl mix all ingredients, set aside.
Ingredients for fajita mixture:
12 ounces beef round steak, cut into thin strips
1 (14 ounce) can beef broth
Place sliced beef in crock pot.
Sprinkle beef with enough flour to lightly coat the meat.
Add fajita seasoning and stir until well coated.
Pour in beef broth - you may not need the whole can, just enough to make it juicy.
Cook on low for 6 - 8 hours, or until meat is cooked and tender.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
Saute' some peppers and onions,
cook up some rice, black beans and corn,
make a yummy guacamole dip,
and bring out the salsa and sour cream.
Oh, and don't forget the tortillas!
Now you can enjoy a tasty fajita :)
Blessings to you, friends!
