Miniature Felt Pillows

Lately I seem to have an addiction to felt.
It's so easy to work with and it makes some of the cutest items.
Plus it's soft :)

As many of you know, I love pillows and often make small pillows for decor.
So I whipped up these mini pillows to add to my Christmas decorations.
They are easy AND adorable!

Items needed:
felt
embroidery thread
sewing needle
batting

Cut out two matching squares that are 2.5 x 2.5-inches in size.

Thread the needle and knot the embroidery thread.
Come up through the backside of one felt square
and begin making the shape of a tree.

It should look like this....

Now with different colored thread make a small star at the top.

Place the two squares together and
separate the embroidery thread so that you have only two strands;
sew along the edges.

Leave a small opening at the end and fill with batting;
sew up the closing.

Add the pillows to a festive bowl or basket
and display in your home for some sweet Christmas decor.

Thank you so much for visiting, dearest friends - you are a joy!
And thank you for the MANY kind, thoughtful, and precious comments
that you leave on my blog.
Each of you are a beautiful treasure!

This is really sweet. Years ago my former boss' wife had given me some felt, handmade Christmas decorations that her sister from Norway made. Very special.

Hello! So cute and festive, I have been working on a few crafts myself today. Prayed you would get much more done on your home as we are getting a break from the deep freeze. Those pillows are really just so cute. I bet you could put a hanger on them and use them for a tree ornament. Have a great crafty week. Let us know when you get in your new place...

Your mini pillows are precious. Anything handmade and personally designed reminds me of simpler and frankly happier times. Your little tree in your header is probably one you made too. It is darling.

Your comment in my email this morning was a nice surprise and gave me a lift. I am finding it hard to keep up with all the wonderful blogs I follow. There is so much I am feeling overwhelmed. Your post made me want to stay and linger over your blog. I hope your day will be blessed.

Hi Stephanie,
I too love roses, 'fragrant cloud' being one of my favourites. I love your little pillows and I think felt is very soft and comforting. I suppose I am a bit of a 'crafter', I love making cards and putting poetry inside them, and bookmarks etc. It is lovely to visit here, I will add your blog to my blog list so that it will come up on my blog when you post.

Adorable little cushions, Stephanie, I'm pinning them! Big fan of felt over here, I love looking at it, touching it, playing with it! And I also looooove the stitched Xmas tree design and the funny stitching on the side - too cute <3
