Heart Flower Garland

Valentine's Day is just around the corner
and since my family and I are in a new home I thought my dining room needed a little "love."
So I made a pretty garland to hang on the china hutch.

It is quite easy to make, lovely friends, and this is what you will need to make one for your home:

card stock
heart paper punch
circle paper punch
lace
embroidery thread or ribbon
embellishments
glue

Punch out 15 hearts for each heart flower.

Punch out a circle and apply 4 hearts with glue.

And add 4 more.

Next add 5 more hearts.

Then add one heart to the middle and add an embellishment, if you so desire.

Make as many heart flowers as you like - I made 5.

Now cut a strip of lace to the desired length.
Loop a piece of sting through the lace and glue the ends to the back of the heart flower.

And that's it!

Have fun creating :)
Blessings to you!

That hutch is amazing!! How clever that you used lace to hang your pieces from... would've never thought of that! I pinned it for future uses.

Stephanie, how pretty and a good tutorial to boot! I also like what you do with doilies....I do the same and am always on the lookout for more. Needlework is an artform I love. Your lovely garland reminds me I'm a few days behind on my art journal. I've enjoyed stopping by, & seeing your lovely china cabinet too.

This is such a cute idea- very creative! :) I liked getting to see some of your tea pots-- that yellow one looks so fun! Oh, and I smiled when I saw your reflection in the glass...I always look for a reflection of the photographer if at all possible that they might show up in their own pictures. Just a little quirk of mine. :)

Stephanie,
Your heart flower garland is so pretty and just perfect for Valentine's Day. I loved the first black and white picture with just a splash of color on one of the hearts. I have a china cabinet that my husband bought me many years ago, and it is something I will never part with. Yours looks like it is filled with lovely treasures.

Beautiful garland and it looks fabulous - sets off your hutch to perfection.
In England we call your hutch a dresser, some call it a china cabinet, or even a wall unit (how boring is wall unit!!) - isn't it strange the different words that we have for things.
Great to be reading your blog again!
