In my post about my craft room I mentioned it was my favorite room...
well, the kitchen is my second favorite.
Please join me for a small tour :)
( The apron I am wearing was made by a dear friend, Roxy, who blogs at
I have a lot more cupboard space in this home than our previous home.
I even have a few empty cupboards at the moment, but I am sure that won't last long :)
This home came with a dish washer and I was quite thrilled since I did not have one before,
just my hands to do the scrubbing.
Well go figure, it doesn't work properly! haha
Oh well, my hands work just fine...
See those tall cupboard doors?
They have racks on the inside for holding spices - wow, what a great thing to have!
That is one of my favorite things about this kitchen
since I used to have to dig around for the spice/seasoning that I wanted when cooking.
Now I can just open the doors and see each one - yes, I feel spoiled.
I wasn't sure what color I wanted to go with for the kitchen,
but finally chose red and blue.
To be quite honest, those are not my "normal" colors
and it all started with the bowls on the top of my fridge.
My cousin gave me those bowls when I got married
and when I put them out I just loved how bright and cheerful they looked.
Then I found something blue and I thought it looked really cute together.
So I have slowly been adding red and blue items to the kitchen :)
I found these amazing vintage canisters on Etsy and the lids were so tight
that it was hard to get them off without spilling what was inside
so now they work perfectly as utensil holders :)
I hung the lids above the door that goes into the laundry room.
I also decorated with plates on the wall
and you will see in the first photo that they are around and above the kitchen window.
And there are plates hanging above the doorway into the dining room.
One of my favorite decor items in the kitchen is this old farmhouse window.
I put hooks on the bottom to be able to hang these potholders.
The two blue potholders are vintage and were found on Etsy
and the red one was also from Etsy, but not vintage.
The valances I used are also from Etsy from Fran's lovely shop
I used one above my kitchen window and the other on my farmhouse window.
Fran has some beautiful valances and she is a sweetheart to buy from.
She sent me a gorgeous doily as a gift and I have it in my bedroom on my dresser.
Okey dokey, lovelies, that is the end of the tour, but come back on Friday to see the rest :)
Have a beautiful, blessed day!
