Zig Zag Table Runner

Good morning, sweethearts!
I wanted to share with you the table runner I made for my dear mother-in-law
for Mother's Day.
My mother-in-law is a very talented sewer
so it was with some trepidation that I made this for her :)
I know, call me silly!
My darling husband helped me pick the fabric
and I must say that he has quite the eye for colors.

Are you ready to see it?
Here it is. . .

The table runner is a simple pattern, but has a "wow" factor with its cheerful colors.
You can use a charm pack for this
or you can do what I did and pick out the colors yourself.
I got a 1/4 yard each of 6 different colors and a yard for the backing plus a few squares for the front
and I had plenty of fabric left over for a few other small sewing crafts.

I quilted the runner and also added 4 ties to the center for an extra pop of color.

The Missouri Star Quilting Company has a step-by-step video for easy sewing.

Happy creating, my friends!
Have I told you lately how thankful I am for each and every one of you!

My hands can't seem to keep still so I made a shabby lace tote bag/ purse
and a half apron for the shoppe :)

I love the table runner. A good project to use up scraps. I think I will give that a try. I want to get my machine out and start some small projects. I am looking for a bag pattern I have somewhere and once I get going on that maybe I will be inspired to do more. SO much fabric to use up.

That is a very pretty table runner Stephanie. It isn't an ordinary runner with straight sides. I'm sure your MIL loves it.

I enjoy watching the MO Star Quilt Co tutorials. I learn so much from them. Jenny makes even complicated patterns so easy.

I love this runner, Stephanie - it will add so much personality to any table! The tote bag is fabulous and feminine and your aprons are adorable. I really need to get into the habit of wearing them. I've ruined a lot of clothes with my messy cooking. lol.
Your projects are always so bright and cheery, my friend. You bring that smile everywhere you go, don't you?

What a lovely table runner! Your hubby did a fantastic job helping to pick out the fabric choices. I always find it difficult to gift something handmade to someone who does the same craft, but at the same time, they appreciate it even more. You did a wonderful job and I know your MIL loved it!
