Tea In The Garden In Honor Of Grandma

A Grandmother is a special blend of sweetness,
care and love without end.

It's a beautiful day here in the mountains,
a perfect day for pulling out some items that belonged to my precious Grandmother -
a perfect day for remembering her. . .

Sunshine is to flowers
what a Grandmother is to her grandchildren.

Grandma Betty was and still is a beautiful treasure.
She buried her love and presence in my heart
and forever there she will remain.

As I curl up in the quilt I made her,
I remember the days when her arms would wrap around me
in a loving, gentle hug.

Yellow, a happy color,
the color of sunshine,
the color of gold,
Grandma's color. . .
She was always cheerful and bright, bringing a smile to anyone's face.
She was pure gold, inside and out.

My Grandma has ears that truly listen,
Arms that always hold,
A love that's never-ending,
And a heart made of gold.

Is there anything more wonderful
than a Grandmother's love for her grandchildren?
It's just pure love.
Nothing but pure love.

Have a glorious day, friends!

What a beautiful post, Stephanie. I love all the photos, and the quilt looks wonderfully cozy. My favorite grandmother had a farm with cows, chickens and a garden which was the inspiration for this former subdivision-dweller to break out and live on a farm myself. It's wonderful to remember those times, and I enjoyed your lovely memories, too.

What wonderful memories of your grandmother, Stephanie! And that third photo is just stunning. Love it. About the sheep, I could enjoy a sheep walking about my house. And I even have a Border Collie who would love to herd him from room to room! lol

A lovely tribute to your dear Grandmother, Stephanie! Such a pretty setting to enjoy her beloved treasures, too. It has been many years since both of my Grandmother's have been 'gone', but I frequently consult them in private thoughts when I need some encouragement. I always know they are there, keeping a loving watch over me. The yellow roses are beautiful, as is the lovely quilt you made. A hug from me xo Karen

Good morning dear Stephanie, what a lovely tribute to your grandmother. You are blessed to have those memories and items from her. It inspires me to be a good grandmother too. Unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with grandmothers who enjoyed being just that. So lessons learned....thank the Lord that He has gifted me with grandchildren and how can I be a good grandmother.
How was the vacation bible club this year?
Love,
Linda

Stephanie, this is such a beautiful post. Not only the photos are gorgeous, but your writing deeply touches the souls of the readers. In not many words, you were able to communicate what a wonderful and gentle person your grandmother were, and the endless love she had for her grandchildren.
And, of course, the garden vignette and the things you used are all very pretty. Wonderful post!

Stephanie,
What a nice setting this is in the garden to remember and think of your Grandmother. I didn't really get a chance to know mine, as I was the youngest, but I did know my Grandfather. The quilt you made her will always remind you of her. The tea cup with the pink roses is so pretty. Your Grandmother sounds like such a special lady. What a sweet and gentle post this is, Stephanie.

love,
~Sheri

Such precious memories of your Grandma. I can tell she had a big impact on your life. I had a Grandmother who did the same in my life. She has been gone years but never forgotten. She influences me to this day by how she lived her life.

Grandmas-I was crazy about mine and I try to be a good one to my little girls! I spent the day with the oldest and a friend and we had a ball. Shopped at Goodwill, lunch, a movie and then a couple of hours they spent happily "upcycling" their
Goodwill purchases. Memories!

This is such a beautiful post, dear friend! You obviously take after your sweet Grandmother because you too are pure gold, sunshine. How blessed your Grandmother was to have such a thoughtful granddaughter- bringing out the momentos we have of our grandmothers and thinking of them, missing them, and pondering over what beautiful ladies they were inside and out and their love is what keeps their memory so alive :)

God is so gracious to give us these kinds of precious moments to remember the sheer loveliness of the loved ones whose hugs and love were so gentle and true that we can still feel what it was like to have their arms around us.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Stephanie!

Love and hugs,
Jazzmin
