~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First of all, I want to say thank you to each and every one of you
that participated in the third tea cup exchange.
It's because of you, sweet friends, that make the exchange a joy and success.
There were 36 ladies that joined this time and we had women from around the world -
Canada, India, Denmark, and of course, the United States :)
It truly blesses my heart to host this exchange and to see many friendships form.
I have met some incredible ladies through these exchanges
and I look forward to hosting many more!
There are already requests for another one so keep an eye out for the next one.
Shall we begin?
The tea cup has roses all over it and the minute I saw it I thought it was perfect!
She also sent a mix for raspberry and white chocolate scones which I have already made
and thoroughly enjoyed :)
She crocheted a pretty dish rag that is just too nice to use!
Thank you, dearest friend, for my delightful gifts!
I sent a tea cup to Lynn who has warmed my heart with her kindness.
Lynn does not have a blog so she sent photos of the items that I sent to her.
Her tea cup speaks of Spring.
I love the pretty detail!
My sweet friend, Mildred, from Blackberry Lane
also participated in the tea cup exchange,
but is unable to link-up since she is away on a blogging break right now
so I will share her photos and the words she would have written on her blog :)
"My exquisite tea cup is from Debbie, Stephanie's mom!
The package also contained  a delicate cloth napkin, blackcurrant tea bags from Canada,
a Colorado photo Calendar, delicious biscuits, aromatic loose leaf tea,
and a sweet handmade card.
My thanks to Debbie and Stephanie for such a wonderful tea cup exchange experience."
and had to go away for a few weeks and is not around her tea cup
to take photos of it to share with us.
Easter Chickie's
These sweet fabric chicks are not only cute for Easter,
but also for the whole season of Spring.
They would would be extra cute set on the table at each place setting for Easter
and each guest could take one home.
Here is what you will need to make your own:
scrap fabric
buttons
batting
needle
thread
scissors
lace
small mold (dish)
Spanish moss
toothpick
paper flowers
embellishments (optional)
Cut out two bird shapes - mine were done by eye with no pattern -
and two wings.
They should be small enough to fit into the dish you're using.
Sew on the wings first, then the buttons for the eyes.
Place the two bird pieces together and sew along the edge.
Leave a small opening and fill with batting then finish sewing up the bird.
As you can see, I wanted my edges to fray for a shabby look.
Make however many your heart desires :)
I used vintage molds to hold my chick's and applied lace around the top edge.
Now for the cute flowers. . .
I used a paper punch to make mine.
I punched out two flowers and sandwiched a toothpick in between with hot glue - make sense?
I then added buttons and rhinestones.
Happy little chickie's that are simply perfect for Spring :)
Have fun creating, lovely friends!
Hugs to you!
I'd Rather Have Jesus
"I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold,
I'd rather be His than have riches untold;
I'd rather have Jesus than houses or land,
I'd rather be led by His nail pierced hand:
I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause,
I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause;
I'd rather have Jesus than world-wide fame,
I'd rather be true to His holy name:
He's fairer than lilies of rarest bloom,
He's sweeter than honey from out of the comb;
He's all that my hungering spirit needs -
I'd rather have Jesus and let Him lead:
Refrain
Than to be the king of a vast domain
Or be held in sin's dread sway!
I'd rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today."
~ Mrs. Rhea F. Miller ~
"The power that this song has had in influencing and changing lives for God
will be fully evaluated only in eternity.
There are countless testimonies by individuals whose lives have been changed
by the singing of this one hymn:
A thousand grim marines sat on a South Pacific Island, during the days of World War II,
listening to a gospel message punctuated with gunfire in the distance.
When the chaplain sat down, a marine stood to his feet to sing the closing hymn.
As the shell-scarred palms swayed nearby, more than half of that company came forward
to profess faith in Christ as their Savior.
The marine soloist, a former opera singer, had just concluded
"I'd Rather Have Jesus . . ."'
and to die is gain."
Spring Flower Bouquet
Hello, my sweets, and happy Spring to you . . . well almost Spring.
Tomorrow is the official day - yahoo!
I don't know about you, but I am already caught up in this lovely season
and I can't get enough of the feminine pastel colors :)
I went through my scrap fabric and found some soft colors
that would be lovely for a fabric flower bouquet.
Let me show you what I did and maybe you will want to make one of your own :)
I ripped strips of fabric so that the edges were frayed
which gives the flower a shabby look.
If you don't like the frayed look than just fold your fabric - make sense?
Also, you will want fairly long strips of fabric - the longer the better!
Thread a needle and sew a running stitch along the bottom.
Knot at the end and this is what it will look like.
Don't pull the thread to tightly!
You don't want it to be too tight or too loose.
You will need some cloth wire's for your stems.
Place the wire halfway down on the fabric
and apply a small amount of hot glue.
Roll the fabric around the wire.
Apply hot glue to the edge and continue to roll together.
This is what your finished flower should look like.
Make as many as you want...I made seven flowers
and then wrapped the stems in lace.
Soft and pretty colors that are perfect for Spring!
The bouquet is missing something.....
I know, it needs a handmade tag attached to the stems :)
I found this lovely picture at
She has several sweet tags you can use for free :)
I printed it out on card stock and added eyelet lace along with pink lace
and some small pearls at the top.
I then used a small safety pin to attach the tag.
That's better, don't you think?
A wonderful gift for a special someone
or just something to add to your home for extra Spring cheer :)
Love and hugs!
