On Eagles' Wings

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.
~ Isaiah 40:31 ~

( Golden Eagle )

On Eagles' Wings
You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord
Who abide in His shadow for life
Say to the Lord
"My refuge, my rock in whom I trust!"

The snare of the fowler will never capture you
And famine will bring you no fear
Under His wings your refuge
His faithfulness your shield.

You need not fear the terror of the night
Nor the arrow that flies by day
Though thousands fall about you
Near you it shall not come.

For to His angels He's given a command
To guard you in all of your ways
Upon their hands they will bear you up
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

And He will raise you up on eagles' wings
Bear you on the breath of dawn
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm of His hand...

( Golden Eagle )

Have a blessed Lord's Day, lovelies!

Patriotic Table Centerpiece

Good morning, friends!
The end of June is upon us
and for some reason my mind still thinks it's only the 1st of June :)

I was finally able to make something patriotic for the dining room table
and thought I would share it with you.
It's quick, it's easy, and it's cute :)

I dug through my burlap stash and found some white burlap that was perfect for a table runner.
I cut it to size and frayed the edges by pulling strings of burlap off.

Then I sewed some red, white, and blue ribbon onto the edges.

And that's it!
To make it a no-sew project you can glue the ribbon on rather than sew it on.

I added a lantern, red and blue vases with fabric flowers,
an old Bible, and a few old hymnals to make a pretty patriotic centerpiece
for the table.

Click here to find out how to make these simple yet lovely fabric flowers.

It will be celebrated. . .
with pomp and parade. . .
bonfires and illuminations
from one end of the continent to the other.
- John Adams -

Enjoy your week, dearies!
My heart is blessed to know you.

P.S. -Is anyone else having difficulties with their blogger reader?
Since yesterday when I sign into blogger it shows me only one blog in my news feed
and won't show me any other blogs that I follow. . .
Maybe it's just me :)

I Must Tell Jesus

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted,
he is able to succour them that are tempted.
Hebrews 2:18

The word "succour" literally means "to run to the cry of a child."
It means to "bring help when it is needed."
Wiersbe Commentary

During a pastorate in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, there was a woman to whom
God permitted many visitations of sorrow and affliction.
Coming to her home one day, I found her much discouraged.
She unburdened her heart, concluding with the question,
"Brother Hoffman, what shall I do? What shall I do?"
I quoted from the Word, then added,
"You cannot do better than to take all of your sorrows to Jesus.
You must tell Jesus."

For a moment she seemed lost in meditation.
Then her eyes lighted as she exclaimed,
"Yes, I must tell Jesus."

As I left her home I had a vision of the joy-illuminated face. . .
and I heard all along my pathway the echo,
"I must tell Jesus. . .I must tell Jesus."

I must tell Jesus all of my trials;
I cannot bear these burdens alone;
In my distress He kindly will help me;
He ever loves and cares for His own.

I must tell Jesus all of my troubles;
He is a kind, compassionate friend;
If I but ask Him, He will deliver,
Make of my troubles quickly an end.

Tempted and tried, I need a great Savior;
One Who can help my burdens to bear;
I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus;
He all my cares and sorrows will share.

O how the world to evil allures me!
O how my heart is tempted to sin!
I must tell Jesus, and He will help me
Over the world the victory to win.

Chorus
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
I cannot bear my burdens alone;
I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.
Elisha A. Hoffman

Have a blessed Lord's Day, my dear friends!

Tea In The Garden In Honor Of Grandma

A Grandmother is a special blend of sweetness,
care and love without end.

It's a beautiful day here in the mountains,
a perfect day for pulling out some items that belonged to my precious Grandmother -
a perfect day for remembering her. . .

Sunshine is to flowers
what a Grandmother is to her grandchildren.

Grandma Betty was and still is a beautiful treasure.
She buried her love and presence in my heart
and forever there she will remain.

As I curl up in the quilt I made her,
I remember the days when her arms would wrap around me
in a loving, gentle hug.

Yellow, a happy color,
the color of sunshine,
the color of gold,
Grandma's color. . .
She was always cheerful and bright, bringing a smile to anyone's face.
She was pure gold, inside and out.

My Grandma has ears that truly listen,
Arms that always hold,
A love that's never-ending,
And a heart made of gold.

Is there anything more wonderful
than a Grandmother's love for her grandchildren?
It's just pure love.
Nothing but pure love.

Have a glorious day, friends!
