Immortal, Invisible

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible,
the only wise God,
be honour and glory for ever and ever.
Amen.
- 1 Timothy 1:17 -

May we not lose sight of the awe and reverence
that should be a part of our worship of Him.
Let us not forget the supreme holiness and greatness
of who God really is. . .

Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
in light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious - Thy great name we praise.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.

To all, life Thou givest - to both great and small;
in all, life Thou livest - the true life of all;
we blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
and wither and perish - but naught changest Thee.

Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
all praise we would render - O help us to see
tis' only the splendor of light hideth Thee!
- Walter Chalmers Smith -

First of all, my child, think magnificently of God.
Magnify His providence;
adore His power,
pray to Him frequently and incessantly.
Bear Him always in your mind.
Teach your thoughts to reverence Him in every place
for there is no place where He is not.
Therefore, my child, fear and worship and love God;
first and last, think magnificently of Him!
- Paternus, Advice to a Son -

Take time to reflect on God's greatness. . .

Who is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn of every creature:
For by him were all things created,
that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:
all things were created by him, and for him:
And he is before all things,
and by him all things consist.
- Colossians 1:15-17 -

Have a blessed Sunday, sweet friends!

Oh, how glorious and magnificent is our Father, and we cannot begin to fathom the greatness nor His power except to see just a glimpse of it from His creation and how He works deep within our hearts and lives! What a beautiful post this Lord's Day as we remember and worship our Precious and Mighty Father, Who loves us so dearly! I read a wonderful quote earlier today from Charles Swindoll from his book, "Growing Deep in the Christian Life," p. 395. "In worship we become preoccupied with the LORD! We don't watch something happen, we participate in it. One 'connects"' with the living God. IT is almost as though you could reach out and touch Him." And he shared the Scripture, "Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at His footstool; for he is holy." Psalm 99:5. Oh, what we would reverence Him Who is mighty, immortal, and invisible. What a wonderful hymn with rich theology! Have a blessed day today, precious Stephanie! And thank you for sharing this beautiful post! You bless me so! Hugs!

Never, ever do I want to lose the awe-struck nature of my life. NEVER. I am listening to a little bird outside who has taken up residence in our yard, in the birdhouse and on the fence. She sings all day long and she is MY PET BIRD, who is free as the wind, but gives me God's joy daily.

HAPPY LIFE!

Dearest Stephanie,

We seem to both love roses and other things alike...
Yes, creating some romance with a pretty teacup and some roses is sheer bliss. Counting our many blessings by observing little wonders around us; especially in nature and in our very garden.
Hugs,
