Sweet Peace, The Gift Of God's Love

Great peace have they which love Thy law;
and nothing shall offend them.
- Psalm 119:165 -

There comes to my heart one sweet strain,
A glad and a joyous refrain;
I sing it again and again-
Sweet peace, the gift of God's love.

Thru Christ on the cross peace was made,
My debt by His death was all paid;
No other foundation is laid
For peace, the gift of God's love.

When Jesus as Lord I had crowned,
My heart with this peace did abound;
In Him the rich blessing I found-
Sweet peace, the gift of God's love.

In Jesus for peace I abide,
And as I keep close to His side,
There's nothing but peace doth betide-
Sweet peace, the gift of God's love.

Chorus
Peace, peace, sweet peace!
Wonderful gift from above!
O wonderful, wonderful peace!
Sweet peace, the gift of God's love!
- Peter P. Bilhorn -

Drop Thy still dews of quietness till all our striving cease;
Take from our souls the strain and stress,
And let our ordered lives confess
The beauty of Thy Peace.
- John Greenleaf Whittier -

'Tis far, far better to let Him choose the way that we should take,
If only we thus leave our life with Him,
He will guide without mistake.
- Unknown -

May each one of you have a beautiful and peaceful Sunday.
Many blessings to you!

Good morning dearest Stephanie! That first scripture verse you share is what I need to hear today:

"Great peace have they which love Thy law and nothing shall offend them."

I interpret this as not allowing anything out of my control or anything that comes from evil to shake my faith that GOD LOVES ME. No matter what offense someone may commit toward me, I can have peace knowing God's law of love. Oh what a perfect scripture for me today! HUGS TO YOU!

I love that You bring those old songs back to mind.I just see Myself sitting in church as a little girl (all frilled to the Tee) along with a large extended family,all these many songs in the air.When I hear these old songs I somehow think of Family long gone to heaven.A melancholy but thankful heart.I do love My Christian heritage and the memories of church of the 50s. My dear Stephanie ~ Isn't it interesting that in a world were everyone seems to get "offended" by everything, ;you have given us the solution...

Great peace have they which love Thy law;
and nothing shall offend them.
- Psalm 119:165 -

How I pray for people will begin to love the Law of the Lord.

Thanks you sweetheart for always sharing your love of things of the Lord. You touch many hearts with your words, and HIS words.

Have a great Sunday...

Stephanie,
I always feel so blessed when I read your Sunday posts. Those rose pictures are gorgeous! There is no better gift than the gift of God's love! I wanted to let you know that I have some posts scheduled for my blog; however, I won't be in blogland much in the upcoming weeks as we are expecting Baby to arrive any time now. I've already passed my due date :)

"In Jesus for peace I abide, and as I keep close to His side" those words really struck my heart strings.
Staying close to my Saviors side is peace in and of itself, and there's no better place to be. :-)

Those roses are gorgeous, but that last photo, WOW WOW! That pink one doesn't even look real it's so perfect.
You sure have a special touch with your camera.
Thank you for another beautiful Sunday blessing as you share with us those lovely hymns and Scripture.
I don't believe I know this hymn. If I do, I don't remember singing it.

The day is over, but I trust you had a blessed Lord day?
Love you~ Mom

I so do love that hymn and how wonderful it is when we can just let go and let God, too many times I try to do things on my own first.
Beautiful pictures, I sure do like the multi colored roses!
