Why Do I Sing About Jesus?

Fill me with gladness from above,
Hold me by strength divine;
Lord, let the glow of your great love
Through my whole being shine.
- Unknown -

Deep in my heart there's a gladness -
Jesus has saved me from sin!
Praise to His name, what a Savior!
Cleansing without and within!

Only a glimpse of His goodness,
That was sufficient for me;
Only one look at the Savior,
Then was my spirit set free.

He is the fairest of fair one,
He is the Lily, the Rose;
Rivers of mercy surround Him,
Grace, love, and pity He shows.

Chorus
Why do I sing about Jesus?
Why is He precious to me?
He is my Lord and my Savior:
Dying He set me free!
- Albert Ketchum -

Dear friends,
the Christian lift is meant to be joyous
and one of the most effective ways to demonstrate our inner joy
is to carry a song upon our lips throughout our daily activities.
Let us carry a song of the Lord with us
for the world needs to see and hear the story of Jesus and His love.

An inner song and a cheerful countenance are always the result of a life
that is enjoying an intimate daily fellowship with our Lord and Savior-
the One who sets us free!

Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:
Sing forth the honour of his name:
make his praise glorious.
- Psalm 66:1 & 2 -

And he hath put a new song in my mouth,
even praise unto our God:
many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
- Psalm 40:3 -

Have a beautiful and blessed Sunday.
Much love to you!

The tea cup used in the photos was a gift from Roxy

We had the beautiful opportunity of meeting face-to-face back in the spring
and she blessed me with the lovely rose tea cup {she knows me well}.

"Only a glimpse of His goodness, that was sufficient for me, only one look at the Savior, then was my spirit set free." Oh I loved these words, and so true. There is freedom in the Savior who saves and sets us free from sin. Sigh...praising my Jesus!

Stephanie, this was a lovely post. I have never heard this hymn before, but what a beauty in word. And your photos are so nostalgic with that old milk can and pearls, just lovely.

Enjoy your day with the Lord.

What lovely words you've shared to sing about Our Savior, Stephanie. Also, your pictures are just gorgeous that accompany your words. I love how you used black and white, vintage style, with a pop of color...so pretty. Your teacup was such a sweet gift from Roxy, too.
Your precious book reviews are wonderful, as always.
I hope you and your dear family are having a wonderful Sunday. xo

Dear Stephanie, I love your post today and felt the sweet spirit that you bring into it. I marked the two scriptures in mine. I read and study the scriptures daily, and enjoy the strength it brings to my life. This has been a daily habit for me since my youth. Thank you for the awesome reminder. Loves, Jo

Oh, sweet Stephanie, what a precious and beautiful post and devotional today! I too have never heard of the hymn, but the words are precious indeed! How can we not sing about Jesus and all He has done for us...and knowing we shall see Him someday...forever! And, yes, as believers (sisters in Christ), we should be joyous so much so that it shows in our countenance. We've often run into someone at a store or restaurant, and I've sometimes said something "leading them" and ended up finding that they are believers as well...praise God they showed it in their faces. May we as well, because we have more to have joyful about than anyone...through Christ! I love the beautiful tea cup and the gorgeous peonies...one of my favorite flowers! Have a blessed week, dear friend! Hugs!

Good morning dearest one! YOU ARE RIGHT!

When I think of how everything in life has rhythm, everything, I cannot help but sing praises in my body. I respond to music and rhythm in dance and it is all from HIM! Even the rhythm of life and death is in HIS HANDS, no one elses!

I love this post, Stephanie. Your images and words are very uplifting. I love to sing and used to sing often in the church choir until a case of pneumonia played havoc with my vocal chords. Now I just sing for me but I still enjoy it :)
You always find a way to touch me just the way I need it. So glad you're my friend.
Hugs and love to you!
