Tea Cups and Mugs and Sweets, Oh My!

Happy, happy day to you, lovely friends!
Tomorrow is the big reveal for the 9th Tea Cup and Mug Exchange
so I thought I would share my gifts the day before
since tomorrow is going to be a wonderful day of visiting other blogs
and looking at tea cup and mug delights.
I hope you will be able to join us for the reveal
as everyone is welcome.
The post will consist of lots of tea cup and mug photos
sent in from non-bloggers
and a link-up for the bloggers that participated
which means we can visit their blogs to see what they received.
It will be a beautiful and joyful occasion, my friends.

I always participate in sending and receiving both a tea cup and mug.
I enjoy my mug of coffee in the mornings
and a cup of tea in the afternoons.
And as many of you know I adore tea cups!

The lovely Julia {who does not have a blog}
sent a most beautiful and thoughtful tea cup package.

She sent me a dainty Haviland France Limoge tea cup.
She was not aware of this at the time,
but I shared with her afterwards that I have always wanted this very tea cup,
but the ones I come across at antique stores are always in terrible condition.
She sent me one in perfect condition
and when I opened it my heart sang for joy.

She sent along some tea including Darjeeling
which is a favorite of mine.

Butter cookies accompanied the tea
and between my husband, son, and myself they did not last long.

And she also sent a lovely little handkerchief.
Ah, she knows I have a love for vintage linens.

The card Julia wrote in was a gift in itself.
You see, right in the center of the card is a tea cup
that I have loved for a very long time.
One of theses days I will add it to my collection.
It's the Royal Albert Silver Birch tea cup.
The inside of the cup reminds me of piano keys.

I sent a tea cup to. . .
my precious mother {{smiles}}
Now you may be scratching your head in wonder as to why I would send to my mom
when I can send her anything at anytime.
Well, it all happened like this. . .
I had a couple of tea cups that I was thinking about using for the exchange,
but I was still unsure about them
{meaning I wanted to keep them - HA!}.
Shortly before the exchange I purchased this Forget-Me-Not tea cup
and it was sitting out amongst my china when my mom saw it and exclaimed,
"Oh, I love those little blue flowers!
What a beautiful tea cup, Stephanie."
She proceeded to pick it up and admire it
even going as far as trying to hide it in her sweater.
From that moment I knew I had to give it to her
and what better way than via the Tea Cup and Mug Exchange.
Here is a collage of the items I gave her,
but you can visit her blog to read more about it:
She Graces Her Home In God's Beauty

Onto the mug. . .
The beautiful and sweet Pat from Gypsy Heart and Soul sent to me
and oh my, did she ever spoil me!
The mug is simply delightful as the rim is thin
which for some reason makes the coffee taste better.
Do you notice that some mugs or tea cups make the tea or coffee taste sweeter?
Or am I just "odd" thinking that?

She sent along so many wonderful gifts that I was overwhelmed by her generosity.
This bar of soap is heavenly!
I wish you could enjoy the scent as it's very subtle and feminine.

The coffee is incredibly delicious!

And the cookies and sweets were enjoyed. . .within just a few days.
The place setting cards are ever so cute
and just perfect for Thanksgiving as are the sweet napkins.

The scent of this candle is truly wonderful!

I had the joy of sending to Wendy from September Violets.
She lives in Canada and as many of you know I have family in Ontario
and spent several years living there.
Wendy is a precious lady with a lovely blog
which I would encourage you to visit.

And finally, yes there is more. . .
my sweet and amazing friend Lynn signed up for the exchange.
Lynn and I have never met in person
and in fact we met through the exchange a couple of years ago.
Since then she has become very, very, very dear to me.
She had intended to sign up to send and receive both a tea cup and mug,
but something went wrong and the registration form showed her exchanging only a mug.
When she and I realized the error I had already sent out everyones information to their partners
so she and I decided to exchange with one another
which I was VERY HAPPY to do.

Lynn sent me an amazing package that brought tears to my eyes.
She has such a kind and giving heart
which I have seen with every package she gives during the exchange.

She knows I love roses so her package had a rose theme.
The tea cup is quite the beauty with a stunning handle.

The coffee she sent along is delicious
and they are the perfect flavors to enjoy during the cool autumn days.
Delicious tea and honey was also included.

A journal with a rose on it will be joyfully used.
I'm thinking I will use it as a prayer journal.

A charming framed rose was included
and has been placed in my craft room.
And this sweet little tea pot found a home among my tea cups.

And this stunning tea pot night light brought the biggest smile to my face.
Isn't it simply lovely!

Lynn loves Pansies and the color pink
so the package I sent her was gloriously pink.
You will see inside the tea cup the flowers include pansies.

I have much to be thankful for
and my heart is full of gratitude
for these three beautiful ladies
that went above and beyond to bless me.

Thank you for visiting today, sweet friends.
Come back tomorrow for the 9th Tea Cup and Mug Exchange Reveal!

Much love and sweet hugs!

Oh Stephanie...Such a lovely post of all the beautiful treasures that you received as well as gifted. You have been given some lovely tea cups to add to your collection, not to mention your mug collection as well. I too agree that a thinner tea cup or mug makes the drink better and feels delightful on the lips. :)

Thank you so much for hosting the giveaway, Stephanie!

The package you sent to Lynn is so delightful. I love pink too, and all those types of things you sent her. :-) I'm a vintage fabric lover, although I didn't realize it until all these prints started being available again. That pink tea cup with the flowers on the inside is sweet.

I also love the forget-me-not tea cup you gave your dear mom. I have a soft spot for those flowers. I am interested in the Haviland tea cup you received because I think we have some similar ones that belonged to my great-grandmother. I'll have to look at them again to see if it's the same pattern. :-)

It looks like you received a very nice collection of things yourself, and I'm glad on your behalf. Thanks again for hosting this! ((hugs))

A big smile as I read about your mom trying to make off with the forget-me-not teacup and I'm glad you decided to be the one to send her a parcel. What a surprise it must have been for her.
Thanks for hosting and I look forward to the gathering here tomorrow.

So many pretty gifts both gifted and received. One's heart always beats a li'l faster at the sight of pretty fine bone china tea cups. Most definitely, tea is so much more ambrosial served in dainty tea cups. As for tea cups being able to talk, though I am sure they have wonderful stories to tell, I am kinda glad my pretty tea cups are unable to. =) Another wonderful tea cup/mug exchange, lovely Stephanie. You will never know how many lives your sweet life blesses. Xx

Wow Wow Wow! What a lot of love and goodies! My favorite cups are those that "fit" in my small hands ... that I can sort of cuddle and feel the warmth ... and listen to the story of the day! Yippee!
Thanks so much Stephanie for all that you do.

Hi Stephanie, what a wonderful variety of gifts you were blessed with in this exchange. I love the gift you received from Pat. That mug is so pretty.
She knew you well with all the goodies she included. She is a sweetheart of a friend and we hope to meet one day too.

Love all the teacups sent and received from you and the others. What a special variety of goodness to enjoy. Love the candles, paper goods, scented soap, candy, napkins, note cards and more.

So enjoyed seeing the gift you sent to your mother and the story of her amazement realizing you got her name. What a special mother daughter relationship you have. I know you cherish each other and it is an inspiration to all.

Thank you for you, all you do and who you are my friend. You have blessed me and so many with your friendship and I am truly thankful!
God Bless you and yours always, love xo

It's been such fun reading through these posts this afternoon, but I have still a long way to go to see everyone. I don't know how you find the time my friend. Take care,

Good Morning, dear Stephanie!
My, how beautiful are each of the gifts given and received! Isn't it amazing how many teacups and mugs are exchanged and yet I don't think I've seen more than one or two ever duplicated?! You're such an inspiration to us all to be more generous and loving and kind in this world. Thank you for having the beautiful Spirit of Christ radiating out of you and such an obedient servant heart. You are dearly loved!!!

I feel the same way about cups and mugs and their rims. Some are more conducive to tea and some to coffee, some change the flavor and/or enjoyment quite a bit. It's always a surprise to see which one you receive.

Praying for you to have a blessed day, lots of energy to accomplish all the Lord has set before you, and for your family to know beyond a shadow of a doubt just how special you are! {{hugs}}

Hello Dear Stephanie,
I am so happy, but not overly surprised, at the fact that you received a tea cup that you secretly hoped for. It is like you said, the Lord works in wonderful ways. A small thing, a tea cup, but a beautiful message that, "made your heart sing." How perfect.
Thank-you again for organizing this event. I can't imagine how much of your precious time it takes, but the love spread across the world makes it worth it. Hugs to you and enjoy the rest of your week.
