Let's Go On A Jeep Adventure

Come away with me, my friends,
and let's take a jeep ride high into the mountains. . .
{Introducing Beebo giveaway winner announced at the end}

The road will lead us up, up and away
where the air is clean and oh-so-fresh.

We'll go through thick forests of Aspen trees. . .

and walk through grass
that is almost as tall as our hips.

We'll look down in the valley's below
and see beautiful lakes that are crystal clear. . .

and all the while we'll enjoy the pure beauty
of the many wildflowers dotting the mountainside.

As we climb higher into the mountains
we'll see more rugged terrain.

And look there!
Those white patches are snow.
{{smiles}}

Let's hop out of the jeep
and take a little walk. . .

As we come to the edge of the mountain
we'll see an abundance of red rocks.

Also, notice the pine trees. . .
since we are close to timberline the trees begin to fade away
and what does grow that high grows together.
It's like the trees have a support system.

I suppose we should probably turn around
and head back.

Down the trail we go. . .

You're probably thinking the adventure is coming to an end,
but that is not the case.
Look there!
Do you see what I see?
A sweet buck resting under a pine tree amongst the wildflowers.

Notice his antlers still have velvet on them.

And his hair is changing color
since he is getting ready for the colder months.

One last look at the sky
shows a beautiful opening in the clouds.
What a lovely way to end the adventure.

Thanks for joining us,
sweet friends!

I hope you enjoyed a taste of our mountains
and the views we are blessed with.

Love and hugs to you!

No words can describe that scenery and those deep ravines and little lakes far in the distance. Oh my I wish I could have gone with you! When I lived in SW Washington, I would take my kids up into the mountains behind our house, similar to these.. and they have such good memories of those drives and picnics. Love your family photo too.. it's so nice to see my blogging friends! Hugs... Marilyn

Perfectly breathtaking scenery Stephanie! I thought you were taking one of those adventure tours, until I got to the end and saw that it was your jeep and a family outing. You are a brave crew driving up those mountain trails. :)

Marilyn @ MountainTopSpice said...

Oh Stephanie! What FUN! Our favorite thing of all to do is just ride up into the mountains... now we don't have a lovely jeep to ride in, we just take our heavy 4x4 truck, but oh the joys of riding on the dirt roads, and wondering what beauty abounds around the next bend or corner! Such views and glorious scenery you got to see! All the way up to the timberline, that is HIGH! And to see some snow too, wow! I can't believe the lupins are still blooming up there, wow, ours finished in June here. The picture of the buck was fantastic... one you should print and display, I think... I bet your guys were wishing it was hunting season, ha! Such a wonderful picture of the three of you... how happy I was to see you all had such a blessed special time together, there is really nothing like getting away in the mountains :) Hugs to you dear friend!
