Stephanie's Corner - February Edition

You can never go wrong
with a little pink. . .
a lot works too.
- Dana Dalgetty -

Hello, friends!
It's just me popping in to share some things
that I have been working on and enjoying for the last month.
I also thought I would share with you
some of the pink things that are tickling my fancy.
After all, I love me some PINK!

* * * * * * *

I found these oh-so-cute Converse shoes at Kohl's
and when I saw they were on sale
well, they had to come home with me.

They are made with a soft silk fabric,
and don't you just love the texture?!

My sweet mom gave me some Simspon & Vail Valentine's Tea
and mmmm. . .what a tasty tea it is!

The ingredients are:

black teas
cacao nibs
hibiscus flowers
flavorings and raspberry pieces

And while we're on the subject of tea,
a dear friend blessed me with the charming tea pot necklace.
It's such a dainty piece of jewelry
and right up my alley.

Now don't laugh at this next thing that I'm going to share with you. . .
I have been trying at-home facial cupping for a few weeks now.
If any of you have tried it
I would love to hear your thoughts in a comment below.

You see, about a year after my son was born
I started to suffer from severe cystic acne.
He is almost 10-years-old and I still breakout
{oh, the joy of hormones!}
Due to the harsh and very painful breakouts
I have gained some "lovely" scars. . .

Facial cupping has many benefits
and one of them is the healing and fading of scars.
Another couple of benefits is the prevention of acne
along with caring for wrinkles or fine lines.
I have a very small smile line around my lips
and I have been keeping an eye on it since I started using these cups.
Did you know that it has almost disappeared!

Since using the facial cups I have noticed a softening of my skin
and quite possibly a small fading of my scars.
So far I love the process!
I am not expecting a miracle overnight,
but I feel with time I will see more results.

And if you're wondering how it works
well, you simply massage some oil
{I am using rosehip seed oil}
onto your face and then you gently squeeze the facial cup onto your face
and glide in an upward or circular motion.
The cup creates suction and gently tightens the skin as you move it.

A little while ago a lovely friend
blessed me with this delightful scrap journal.

I set it aside to work on
when I had some nice quiet time to myself.
Well, the other day I pulled it out
and thought now would be the perfect time to start "playing"
with all the paper goodies.

There are oodles and oodles of paper goods
and the possibilities for making this book extra beautiful
are truly endless.

When I am done I will have to share it with you

At the moment
I am working on several piano pieces,
but one that has me very excited is a new song by David Hicken
called Nampara.

Please click on the video to listen to it, my friends,
and let me know what you think.

I did a little shopping {again} at my favorite online shop
and got this sweet shirt on sale.

Life Is Sweet.

It's absolutely perfect, don't you think?!
The black cat looks like my Duke.

Speaking of books,
I picked up a few from Tyndale when they had a Valentine's Day special.
They had several books on sale for only $5.00 a piece!
I most certainly couldn't pass up that deal - HA!

Here are three that I am going to read soon
and I must say that I am very excited to dive into
Melanie Dobson's book Catching the Wind.

Have you read any of them?
And if you have, did you enjoy them?

Well, my friends, I think that is plenty for today.
Thank you so much for stopping by and saying "Hello!"
Your comments always, always, always brighten my day!

Have a sweet. . .

And lazy relaxing day!

Love and hugs to you!

Look at your tiny little adorable beautiful self! Love that shirt! You are just adorable my friend. Oh I need that cupping stuff! LOTS of it too. Awe girl, I just appreciate your willingness to be transparent here about the journey you've been on with the facial problems. Lord, we all got some stories we could share don't we? Loving all of your pink. You are just precious. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Hi! I had never heard of cupping! I have been lucky to not ever have much acne but at 78 I do have wrinkles!! Our daughters dog use to get up on the back of their couch like your cat does! Cute T-shirt! That music Nampara would take a lot of practice for me! How many hours do you get to play the piano every day? I only get in about 10 mins to a half hour and sometimes miss a day. Will look forward to hearing you play it. I enjoyed the Christmas one you did. By the way I love pink also!! Nancy

I have never heard of facial cupping, interesting. Since my surgery, hormones have def. gone south...and I can't take hormone replacement due to the fact I had breast cancer...anyways...where was I? ---what a lovely post, my friend. Thank you for the lovely photos and the pink shoes, love, love, love them. Smiles

Good day Stephanie! First.. how do you stay so slim????? with all the tea and cookies??!!!! hee hee..... love that T-shirt... love the tea and pink bits in it... in fact, I JUST LOVE PINK... just like you. The shoes.. I must have but live so far from a Kohl's... darn it. The piano piece is so pretty.. I loved the melody of it and could see how it could grow on you. I used to play piano in my teens and 20's, but let it go when my mom sold our piano while I was living in Wyoming for a couple of years (with my ex). I was so sad and never did get another piano. I finally bought a keyboard when I was in my late 40's but never have gotten back into playing. It's like I have to start all over again! I could probably have played this piano piece easily, but no more!

The little scrap journal looks like tons of fun too. I enjoyed getting a peek of your life and what you're doing. Oh... I got some darling teapot fabric at a thrift store a couple of weeks ago... am trying to decide what to make with it as my poor sewing machine has been sitting and gathering dust!

Love your kitties! Hugs... Marilyn

This post made me smile the whole time! I love pink too!!! Your sneakers....oh, how sweet! I love them. And the tea...must smell heavenly. I could go on and on but I will only further say that yes, I have read and reviewed Catching the Wind by Melanie Dobson last year and adored the story! It was a Top read of 2017 for me. I hope you like it too. Love and hugs, my friend!

Such a sweet chatty post, Stephanie. I had never heard of facial cupping prior to this, but will be looking it up. Blogging can be ever so educational (smile). That's a very cute t-shirt you found, and the pink runners are lovely for spring.

Facial cupping? Must say I've never heard of that before. I am 56 years old, have you heard the phrase growing old gracefully? Well, not me!I plan on fighting it every step of the way! I have an Irish heritage so I am very fair with dark hair so I burn, peel, and get whiter! Which has actually been to my benefit, no sun, very few wrinkles. Yet age brings them on no matter what. First thing in the day I will be shopping for the cup.Thank you for the great idea. Alo just wanted to let you know how adorable your gifted teapot necklace is. I own some teapot/teacup jewelry it's hard to find. Years ago I found a rosehip and hibiscus tea that is so delicious, must look for the one you have. Your post today was a delight and wealth of information.Blessings.

Dear Stephanie...such a beautiful all the pink, from the adorable Converse shoes to the scrap journal. I'll be interested to see the scrap journal when you are finished. I know it will be beautiful. I've not heard of facial cupping before, but I'm excited that you are beginning to see some results. Love your cute shirt...and the picture of your kitty cat. :) My very favorite was the piano video by David Hicken! So beautiful! Hope you are having a lovely day today, my friend. xo

Love that you started the blog with and finished with a kitty! And beautiful they are! Looks like you have had a packed Feb. Facial cupping, I have never heard of that. I have never had a facial problem other than a little skin lupus that pops up from now and again! I use a mix of oils and lotion on my face and I think I look pretty good for 58! I don't use soap on my face. Can't wait to see what you are getting into for March. Oh my gosh....March is right here and this yr is moving right along.....FAST! Have a great day.

Gosh, you look so adorable with your “Pebbles” hair tied in a bow on your head. I mean it! Darling t-shirt as well. Loved the music, but then I love piano music so well that all one has to do is play “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” and I am perfectly content listening. The facial cupping is pretty intriguing...first I am reading of it... At first, I wondered how it might be for rosacea, but now I’m thinking it would be too harsh. All the same, I am interested in the essential oil you are using. Currently, I use lavendar and coconut oil to calm my face. Wrinkles? Too late for me, more’s the pity!

The tea necklace was a joy as are the converse and the delightful T shirt. I loved the piano piece soothing for the soul.

When I tripped and fell ON MY FACE a few years ago, my son recommended the Rosehip Oil and I used it every day for awhile. I know it helped my face heal and it improved my complexion. I should get it out and use it now and then. You KNOW I love all of your pretty things and the nice journal pretties! Enjoy your day!

Hi Stephanie,

I always enjoy these posts! So much fun: beautiful piano music, new books, cats and tea! What could be better? : )

I love Converse shoes because they're cute and comfy! Also super cute? Your new graphic tee and gold teapot necklace! I'm intrigued by your Valentine tea blend. I've been on a tea-buying hiatus (53 days and counting!) so I gotta live vicariously through my blogging friends.

Those shoes are too cute, love the texture in them and of course the color. I have to wear certain shoes for my feet problems so I can't wear cute shoes anymore :(
I had heard of facial cupping but didn't really understand what it was for so this is good to know. I am starting to get those wrinkles myself, hope it continues to work for you.
What a lovely gift that journal was and so soft and pretty!
Fun shirt, it would be perfect for my daughter :)

Your posts are always so pretty, Stephanie. Love the pink converse and the tea sounds delicious. I would love a cup. Those papers are so pretty and I even spotted some teapots. You will certainly have fun creating.
Have a lovely weekend,

I like the Converse shoes. They're cute. I'm allergic to cats, so a book & cats shirts would make no sense if I wore it. But if you substituted cupcakes for cats, it would be the perfect shirt for me!

Beatrice Euphemie said...

Oh, cats just know the perfect way to make themselves comfy! Such a pretty, footed teacup to enjoy your Mom's tea and sweet necklace, too. The scrapbook papers will make the prettiest little journal. Such pretty thing to enjoy on a winter day! Sending hugs xo Karen

What an enjoyable post Stephanie. I love reading these rambling posts sharing a friendship this way. I never was one for special skin treatments, and now that I'm older I kind of regret it haha! The wrinkles and age spots have arrived, but I'll just accept it as a life well lived etched in my skin ;) Your little cats are adorable, and I clicked on a link at the bottom for another post on your expanded cat family. You are very kind to accept such a number of cats into your home. Do you still have them all? Although I've always been an animal lover, I'm getting tired of caring for them. We are down to one rabbit, one dog and two tanks & one pond of fish. Not sure any of them will be replaced as they leave this world. Maybe the dog. Thank you for your kind words on mine. Enjoy your weekend!
