I saw a candy tray in a food magazine and thought it looked so amazing.
So I googled how to make one and was amazed at the possibilities.
These are super easy to make and they look beautiful with cookies or fudge on them.
Items Needed:
spearmint or peppermint candies
parchment paper
cookie tray
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Place some parchment paper on the cookie tray
and line your unwrapped candies out the way you want them.
There should be a little space between each candy.
Place in preheated oven for 8 - 10 minutes.
Cool for 10 - 20 minutes
then place on a cooling rack to finish cooling.
Carefully remove parchment paper when the tray is cool.
It should be smooth and glossy :)
I didn't take a picture of the candy cane tray when it was done baking - oops :)
Onto the Meringue Kisses. . .
Ingredients:
3 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon cream of tarter
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
pinch of salt
1 cup white sugar
sprinkles (optional)
In a bowl, beat egg whites, vanilla, cream of tarter, almond extract
and salt until soft peaks form.
Gradually add sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
Drop by tablespoons or place mixture in a frosting tube (not sure what it's called)
and squeeze out the mixture....make sense?
Pour some sprinkles on top
and bake for 30 minutes at 275 degrees F.
Transfer to cooling rack.
Enjoy!
