No Water Flower Bouquet

I decided to make a yo-yo flower bouquet
for my precious grandmother who lives in Canada.
I thought it would be nice to give her flowers that she could enjoy for a while
and not have to water :)
I used dried poppy flower stems and holly hock stems
for my yo-yo flowers.

And I was thrilled to find this vase with a Cardinal on it
because she LOVES Cardinals.

P.S. I have to agree with you on the quote from Elisabeth Elliot! I believe it's my new favorite quote! I'd like to share it, but I'll give credit to where I found it! Have a great weekend!

Hi Stephanie, I have never seen yo yo flowers before, how beautiful! What a cute idea. Thank you for the tutorial link. I love the grandmother quotations. My dear grandma past away when I was very little but she left me with some treasured memories. I wish I could have had her in my life a little longer. My other grandma died before I was born, but I have heard so many stories about her she feels very real to me. I hope you have a lovely day ahead, and thank you again for all of your sweet comments on my blog. With Love, Delisa :)

Years ago my dear grandmother taught me how to make yo-yos and I'm always looking for ideas of how to use them. Thank you for this idea!!

The flowers are great and I love the little quotes about grandmothers. My grandmother lived with us when I was a child, I have many fond memories we played many card games and often listened to the radio, she lived well into her 90's and I miss her still.

very pretty fabrics, she will love it, and such a great find with the vase. I saw a scarf made out of yo yo's that were only about an inch big, it was so pretty, can't imagine how long it would take to make that many.

Love your yo yo's, Stephanie. So beautifully created. I can't tell you how many hours and hundreds of these that I created many years ago, crib blankets, and all sorts of other craft items made with these treasures. Very addicting as well. Keep having fun making these beauties. Hugs, Gayle.

Love these yo-yo flowers and for once I have actually made these in the past!! The grandmother sentiments brought tears to my eyes as I recall my own grandmother and my relationship with my grandchildren - beautiful.
