And you thought paper towels were only good for cleaning up spills.
They can also be used to adorn the walls of our home in a lovely display of decoration :)
I don't know why I decided to make this wreath.
I think I was just fiddling with a paper towel one evening
and ended up twisting it into a rosette.
And of course the wheels in my head started turning
and I was thinking, "I know I can create something with these!"
You will need:
paper towels
12" x 12" card stock
scissors
pencil
hole punch
ribbon
hot glue gun and glue
buttons, beads, rhinestones (optional)
Draw or trace a heart onto your card stock.
Then draw another heart inside your main heart.
After cutting it out, you will have this....
By the way, I apologize for the black dot on some of my photos.
My lens has a scratch and I can't always get a good shot around it :)
Anyway. . .
At the top of the heart,
use a hole punch and tie some ribbon through the hole.
Cut your paper towels into strips.
Fold one end like this and begin twisting into a circle to create a rosette.
Okay, hold your rosette together with one hand and with your other hand
apply hot glue to your heart paper wreath and press your rosette onto the glue.
This will hold it together.
Continue to do this until your wreath is covered.
And you're done!
You can also apply any kind of embellishment.
I added 2 buttons to one wreath.

That is just awesome!! Yep, I think I'll try this today!!
Hi Stephanie,
I am in a very emotional state right now. I have deleted my blog “The Simple Life of Hope”. My father-in-law died nearly two weeks ago, and the following weekend, I found out that my father has leukemia and was told that he had 2 weeks to 3 months to live.
I would like to keep in touch with you, and I will probably even begin a new blog, eventually. I just wanted to let you know what’s going on with me.
♥Hope
Now that is a novel, lovely and thrifty idea! You clever girl!

Wow, that is awesome! I can't believe it's made from paper towels! You are amazing.
I have wanted one of those rosette necklaces but they are too expensive, but I found a tutorial to make one.
So your post has encouraged me, because if you can make a rosette out of a paper towel then surely I can make one out of fabric, right?
I am pretty inept but we will see, lol!
I love your creative spirit, Stephanie! You come up with the most unique ideas. Thanks for sharing!

I am totally intrigued with this idea! It is so pretty and I would never have guessed paper towels! I am kind of wanting to know what would happen if I dropped a few drops of water color on to those paper towels after they were on the heart. I may have to try that! Thanks for the inspiration!
