Mason Jar Pincushions

Have you seen these jar pincushions?
They are adorable!

I have been wanting to make some
and the perfect opportunity arose when my mother-in-law and deacons wives got together
to discuss the Mother & Daughter banquet at my church.

Our theme was 'Patterns of Our Lives' and we decorated with quilts and sewing notions.
I offered to make some Mason jar pincushions for giveaways
so my mother-in-law found the blue jars and I got to work :)

They are easy to make and any mother would love to receive one.
Here is what you will need to make a Mason jar pincushion:

Mason jar
fabric (cut out a circle bigger than the lid)
sewing notions (thread, needles, ribbons, etc)
hot glue gun and glue

Place the batting on the flat part of the lid and put the fabric circle over the batting.
Make sure the batting does not go off the edges because the lid will not screw shut.

Hot glue the fabric down to the underside of the lid
then cover with a small piece of felt.

The felt covers the hot glue and fabric since it doesn't look too pretty :)

Fill the jar with sewing goodies.

And place the pins in your pincushion.

"Sew" fun and cute!
A delightful Mother's Day gift.

My mom told me she really liked the jars so I made one for her
and this is how it turned out....

She likes her pink and lace :)

My mother-in-law made some darling totes to give to the younger girls.
I made some flowers and attached them to the bags.

Have a wonderful week!

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS!! These are so lovely and perfect. You really made them so beautifully... I think it is really neat that used the blue jars too. They are so pretty. And how much more fun I'm sure it was to have others to create with :)
I will need to try this with some of our mason jars (but I need to search for the blue ones), especially because I'm hoping to have more time to sew now that summer break is here!

Thankyou for sharing your beautiful creations.

Have a blessed day!
Hugs and love to you,
