Double-Decker Confetti Brownies

Hello blogging friends!
It has been quite the fun, but busy week - VBS was going on all week at my church
so if I have not been around to visit you than that is the reason.
My apologies for being absent, but hopefully I will get caught up with each one of you :)
I pray all of you are doing well.

How about a yummy recipe for the weekend.....
Something that will satisfy your sweet tooth.
Well, these brownies will do the trick.

My husband (who is NOT a chocolate lover)
actually enjoyed this recipe and has already requested for me to make it again.
If he likes it than that must mean it's good :)

Here is what you will need:

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, divided
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
1 cup mini M & M's, divided

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Lightly grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
In large bowl cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy;
beat in eggs and vanilla.
In medium bowl combine 2 1/4 cups flour, baking powder and salt;
blend into creamed mixture.
Divide batter in half.
Blend together cocoa powder and melted butter;
stir into one half of the dough.
Spread cocoa dough evenly into prepared baking pan.
Stir remaining 1/4 cup flour and 1/2 cup M & M's into remaining dough;
spread evenly over cocoa dough in pan.
Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup M & M's.

Bake 25 - 30 minutes or until edges start to pull away from sides of the pan.
Cool completely.

Splurge a little and enjoy this yummy sweetness :)

Mmmm ... they will melt in your mouth.
Have a delightful weekend!

Hi Stephanie, thanks for your sweet comment on my blog about the potato & string bean recipe!

Your recipe looks so good and I just pinned it. This is something that my daughter would love to eat and we can make this together because she loves baking.

Thanks for sharing this and have a great weekend and week.

Hi Stephanie! Just what I need, a super recipe for this weekend...because the diet starts on Monday!!

How generous you were to share your time with your church community! I bet it was a fun time...full of 'belonging' moments :)

Nice pics! That looks like a brownie to satisfy all chocolate cravings...and a good Christmas recipe to think of.

My church had VBS at the end of June, hoping to beat the heat, but we had a heat wave that week...although this week is even hotter here.

I'm not crazy (re: recipe) over shrimp, or anything fishy. You really don't taste the shrimp.

Well, I made the brownies and they turned out wonderful!! Easy enough to make, although I had a hard time keeping my fingers out of the tasty dough. :) YUM!!

Thank you for sharing the recipe. I plan on making these for our next church picnic. They will be a big hit especially with the children.

I do know how tiring VBS week can be, very understandable. I love brownies but never had them with M&M's, I will have to save this recipe for my birthday splurge!

Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog earlier. Your visits are always so much appreciated, dear sister.

They look so delicious, making me want to improve on my deficient skills.

Totally unrelated to the subject, but where is 'Timeless heART'? Tried visiting her a couple of times but seems she's closed down or moved.

Have a lovely day in His presence.
