Roses And Fire Works

Good day to you, blogging friends!
I hope each one of you had an enjoyable Independence day.
My family and I had a quiet and relaxing day since we just got back from Canada
and are still slightly tired from the trip.
I am almost embarrassed to admit that the most I did was water my flowers
and weed my garden.
Then the rest of the day was spent curled up with a book :)

We enjoyed the fireworks in our town - our home is a perfect spot for viewing them
so we didn't even have to brave the traffic through town.

How about you, what did you do for the 4th of July?
I would love to hear how you spent your day.

Now for some more photos from our trip to Canada :)

While I was away I enjoyed some time admiring my Grandma's flowers.
She had this incredibly beautiful yellow/orange rose -
I was completely captivated by its beauty.
I went out one morning right after it rained and snapped some pictures.

May you have a lovely weekend filled will lots of blessings.
It's raining here right now - praise the Lord!
We have been very dry and in need of moisture.

Hugs to you!

Hello Stephanie,

I think relaxing reading a book was a perfect way to celebrate the holiday :)

You can't beat fireworks for your own yard! You captured some great shots.

I love the photos of your grandmother's beautiful roses. I can just see you out enjoying the early morning taking these photos. It is the kind of thing I would be doing.

Hi Stephanie... your photos of your fireworks are just spectacular!... thanks for your visit... you saw how we spent the 4th!... your grandmother's roses are so beautiful and I love all of the special quotes... I have been thinking alot of you and your grandmother this week... special thoughts and prayers... which also brought to mind many precious memories of my own grandmothers and great~grandmother... I especially love the quote about a garden of love... I tagged along with my great~grandmother in her cottage gardens from the time I was a little girl and asked her question after question, which she so patiently and lovingly answered... I am sure I inherited my love of gardening from her... thanks for sharing these priceless moments... xoxo Julie Marie

What a beautiful post today! We did not see any fireworks this year, so thank you for sharing your photos. One of them looks like a heart.

Your roses are spectacular!! The one with the purple flower next to it reminds me of grandma. You sure do have a way with that camera.

Beautiful quotes to go along with those photos.

Happy to hear that you rested up and enjoyed a good book. You needed it!

Love you

We used to celebrate at gpa and gma's in town a block from the park and watch the fireworks. This year gma is in a nursing home and gpa moved in with my SIL and husband. So I traveled to Greeley to celebrate and we had a great time. Love your grandmother's roses and the quotes. Enjoy resting up. Long trips of an hour ;D make me tired. I don't know what a 24 hour trip would do.♥♫

Your beautiful rose photographs will always be special to you. I'm glad your gramma also occupies a special place in your heart.

Your blog is such a wonderful place of repose. Thank you for leaving a comment on my hydrangeas so that I was able to find you.

Blessings on your day!

Hi Stephanie, thank you for visiting my blog. I am now a follower of your beautiful blog! What a wonderful tribute to your grandmother! She obviously was a great influence on you and I know she is smiling from heaven! The bible verse from Philippians on your side bar brought tears to my eyes as that same verse we found on a little piece of paper in my dads wallet after he passed 11 years ago. It described his faith so perfectly:) Your photography is awesome!

What a beautiful post, and what beautiful Roses! I love the colour! Here in the UK we had a 4th July themed BBQ at work - which was very nice indeed. Those fireworks look great, but no wonder you had a quiet one after all the travelling you have done recently! x

Wow, I love your photos of the rose. I like painting flowers with water droplets on them! :D

We have been watching it rain for days, and it will rain at least through Friday. We're at our lake cabin, and we can't take the boat out and the fireworks show was cancelled last night. But we've still had fun just being together!

Hi Stephanie! Those pictures of the rose are so gorgeous! Especially with the water droplets, that is beauty! and those fireworks looked pretty fancy too.

What a beautiful gift you have to see the beauty all around you. Love it!

What a refreshing, beautiful post as always! I so enjoyed all your photos... the fireworks looked so amazing and how neat you had such a good view! My Dad was out of town yesterday- he went back to his home town and said he had an amazing view of the show the town put on.
Those roses and quotes are so sweet. How breathtaking they are. Roses with drops of water are incomparably beautiful.

Glad you and your family had a nice and relaxing day yesterday! I didn't do very much but it was nice. I stayed home and did dishes and watched Little House on the Prairie mostly, haha. But I enjoy laid back days like that.

Have a blessed day, Stephanie!
Hugs to you,

How neat that you are able to view the fireworks from your home... such lovely pictures of your Grandma's flowers.
We had a quite morning, then we went to the book store and had a cook out and ate on our deck. I hurt my back last week so we decided not to go to the fireworks, so we watched them on tv.

Your rose pictures and the quotes are beautiful. Take good care of yourself and rest. Sending you hugs and prayers.

Your pictures of your Grandmother's rose are exquisite. As for the 4th...we went to watch local fireworks the evening before and had a restful day at home the 4th....ending up watching fireworks on tv. Our son went to the city and joined thousands to view the grandest fireworks around, but this year we were happier to be at home and not get tired out. Being older has compensations...lol.

The roses in your Grandmothers garden are so beautiful! Her house must have felt empty now ... The oictures of her in your former pos are just lovely - I like how your and her look alike! It sounds like you really needed the day with the book - just settling down after the travel, saying fare well and being supportive to your grandfather!
Blessings to your weekend,

I think it's great that you took some time to relax. Heaven knows us gals don't do that nearly enough. The rain kissed rose is absolutely stunning! Loved all of the quotes about grandmothers. Although all of my grandparents had passed before I was old enough to know them I cherish being a grandmother! We had our annual 4th of July breakfast out on the deck. It was delish and I didn't even snap one pic. Need to just relax and not do that now and then.

beautiful roses!
How I wish I had grandparents! I saw how special this relationship is through my own children.
My hubby and I spent the 4th out of town visiting "old" friends. We rode our bikes, ate delicious food, and watched the fireworks. It was a wonderful time!
Your 4th sounds very relaxing and wonderful as well!

We watched fireworks on the 3rd after church and the 4th was spent with family. We had lunch at my parents and dinner at the Inlaws, filled with swimming and fun :). Had a wonderful and relaxing 4 day vacation with my hubby over the weekend at home :)
