Safely Home

I am in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is a perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over.
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' love illuminated
Every dark and fearful glade.

And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still:
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.

There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth-
You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, they joy to see you Home!

It has been 20 weeks since my precious Grandmother passed away.
My dear friend, Abby, sent me this poem shortly after Grandma Betty passed away
and it stays out where I can see it daily because the words have been a comfort to me.
I have been blessed by this poem and I wanted to share it with all of you on this Sunday.
I hope you are blessed as well.
Love and hugs!

Have a blessed Lord's Day

Lovely poem Stephanie, and how true. The Bible says we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, I believe our loved ones are encouraging us and want our lives lived out for Jesus Christ!

Have a blessed day, my sister in Christ,

If only this were widely understood, the fear of death would not be as present as it is! Your dear grandmother is now capable of loving and caring for you as never before!

What a beautiful poem Stephanie, and those photos are breath taking! The detail is something else. Oh the beauty of God's creation, so finely designed, you can't help but see Him in everything that surrounds us.

Grandma Betty is with her Jesus, praise the Lord!

Have a blessed Lord's day today.

Much love!

I can see how this poem has been a blessing to you. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us. The headstone just arrived on Thursday for daddy and I made an arrangement for the first set of flowers - red and white. So, yes, this poem is for me too.

Such a lovely poem, I had not read that one yet, my sister bought all of us brothers and sisters a little ornament and it has a poem about being with the Lord this Christmas, she sent them to all of us last week, my Dad gave us kids all one when our Mom died and it had a different poem about being away at Christmas, they are so nice to read when your feeling sad and need to be lifted up

This is such a lovely poem.
I just lost both my Mother and Father this last winter, so it was especially touching to me!
But what a comfort it is to know that they are both with Jesus.
Maybe your Grandmother and my parent will meet.

This is so lovely and beautiful. How sweet of Abby to have sent this to you... I can imagine how comforting this was and how it helped your heart.

I always look forward to reading your Sunday posts- and every post you write!- because they always make me feel wrapped up in the Lord's arms. Comforted, and reminded of all his love and goodness.

I just wanted to thank you for your comment on my Faithful Friday post, too. I just read it and the feeling I have when I read your sweet words is hard to describe. They touch me, and always encourage me. I am blessed by you!
And it is a blessing in itself to even think something I shared had an effect on someone.

Blessings and hugs to you!
Have a wonderful day!!
