God Is The Supplier Of Our Needs

"But my God shall supply all your need
according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
~ Philippians 4:19 ~

This verse crosses my mind often when I am thinking about the "things" that I need,
such as clothes, food, fuel for the car, laundry soap, etc.
I use this verse to remind myself that God will provide each need
even when it might seem impossible.

But the other day I was struggling with having patience
and this verse popped into my head, "...my God shall supply all your need."
God was gently telling me that He would provide the patience that I needed for that moment.
Contentment, love, joy, patience, strength, gentleness and so on
are all "needs" that will be met by God.
I don't know about you, but there are days I have a hard time living up to these words
yet God promises to "supply all your need."

"When the child of God is in the will of God,
then he will have every need met."
~ Wiersbe Commentary ~

And as I thought about God meeting my particular need for patience the other day,
He also reminded me of  2 Corinthians 12:9,
"...My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness."

"What is grace?
It is God's provision for our every need when we need it.
There is never a shortage of grace.
God is sufficient for our spiritual ministries and our material needs
as well as our physical needs."
~ Wiersbe Commentary ~

"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you;
that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things,
may abound to every good work."
~ 2 Corinthians 9:8 ~

My heart is truly thankful for a God who desires and promises to meet every need
and to do so with precious grace.
The patience that I didn't have came and it filled my heart when I surrendered to the Lord
and pushed myself out of the way to let Him supply my need.

May you have a blessed Lord's Day!

Oh Dear Stephanie, that was beautifully said, thank you for the encouragement on this the Lords day.
I too know that God provides ALL our needs, but I loved the way you pointed out contentment, joy, peace, gentleness etc. such a good reminder.
And Gods grace IS ufficient, and He gives us all that we need when we need it. That is amazing to me!
The Lord bless you today!

We can get so much comfort and encouragement from the scriptures. I wrote a page of verses in my journal one night this week when I needed to spend time meditating. Happy Sunday my friend. Hugs, Diane

The Phrase: DO NOT BE AFRAID---Is written in the Bible 365 times. That is a daily reminder from God to live everyday FEARLESS.

I love the part of the verse that says 'according to His riches in glory'. Otherwise, I would become quite the selfish person, seeking all for my own gain according to my will and not His. Lovely reminder today, Stephanie, to surrender to His will in all things and He will provide. {{hugs}}

I have struggled with this over the years and still do on occasion but I have to remind myself....it will happen in His time. I have learned to be more grateful for what I already have and more patient for the things that I still hope to attain and am a much happier person because of this acceptance. Thanks for the gentle reminder.....:)
Blessings, Vicky

Beautiful, my friend, and how neat that we are on the same wavelength, though our physical distance stretches across the vastness of the U.S.

My husband preached on this very thing this morning-while in the book of Ruth.

Have a blessed week!

This verse always comforts me. It's one we should all remind ourselves of DAILY. Btw, I struggle with a lack of patience, too. Oh, girl. Watch me get behind a slow driver. #BacksliddenChristian XOXO

Ahhhh, patience the fruit of the Spirit that really needs cultivating and care. We need to tend to all those attitudes and circumstances that try to hinder the growth of patience in us. They are like weeds aren't they?!! Thankfully we have the Holy Spirit to help us with that work!
Have a wonderful week, Stephanie!!

A dear friend from church is seeing hard times, as she has almost ever since meeting her. She is so giving, caring and loving. Always striving to do what God wants but I see her struggle so and it is hard for me to see, she always has that faith that God will supply what she needs.

Hi Stephanie,
Lovely post. Ever since I have been born again God has supplied all I need. Wants are many but needs are few. You made me smile when you said about struggling with patience. Years ago I felt I was very impatient with certain things. I looked up the meaning of the word 'patience' in the dictionary. It said that it meant 'the ability to endure with calmness'. I thought 'I can endure but usually gritting my teeth'. So I prayed to the Lord to enable me to be patient. He sent me to work in a residential home for the elderly as a care worker - the best thing that could have happened to me to learn patience.
God bless you Stephanie

Thanks for coming by my blog at the GYB Party. I will be looking around at yours for a bit. Love the scriptures you shared. I have a small pillow that has the Phillippians 4:13 verse embroiderd on it, one of the other scriptures highlighted on your page.
I know by connecting with Him first thing in the morning through prayer and scripture study opens a conduit from my heart to Him. And all day as I reacknowledge Him and the gift of the Holy Ghost, I feel their influence in my heart. I am filled with what I need, as long as I seek them in gratitude and humility. If I don't take those steps, MY impatient Will takes me through a much more bumpy day...and the healing and heart changing I desire is just out of reach, because I did not reach for it. Does that make sense? LOL
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Beautifully put. It is certainly human to struggle with these things like patience. As we grow older, it feels like it gets easier since we are continually learning how to work with our emotions. :)

Hi Stephanie! Oh my, grace is just everything, isn't it? The power and love that comes from accepting this pure gift is just a wonder. It was so beautiful to hear about the peace you got after that verse came to your mind.

How did your move go? Are you in your new place?

So grateful for that grace - so undeserved but so needed. So thankful He truly does supply all our needs (it's the wants that gets us into trouble, right?). So happy you shared with me you are from Colorado - honored for our team to be playing against Peyton Manning. If our team loses I will be happy knowing yours won : ) Have a wonderful week friend!

I cannot tell how thankful I am for you Stephanie and that the Lord put it in your heart to write about this! It is such an encouragement to me. Truly beautiful! I love what you brought out. I find in my walk with God that I always tell God I am going to be better at trusting Him to fulfill my needs, but it is hard for me sometimes for some reason. What an unbelievable His Word is to comfort us and keep reminding us!
And I also love the beautiful paper you wrote on. So pretty. And of course the verse Thank you for this, dear friend.

This is sort of a side note, but I am also encouraged at seeing that you wrote "worry is a sin" in the margin of your beautiful bible. An amazing thing to think of.

I pray you are having a wonderful week so far! Huge hugs to you!

Love and blessings to you, Stephanie!
