Holy Bible, Book Divine

"Holy Bible, Book divine, precious treasure, thou art mine;
Mine to tell me whence I came, mine to teach me what I am;

Mine to chide me when I rove, mine to show a Savior's love;
mine thou art to guide and guard, mine to punish or reward;

Mine to comfort in distress - suffering in this wilderness;
Mind to show, by living faith, man can triumph over death;

Mine to tell of joys to come and the rebel sinner's doom:
O thou holy Book divine, precious treasure, thou art mine.
~ John Burton, SR. ~

"Nobody ever outgrows Scripture;
the Book widens and deepens with our years."
~ Charles H. Spurgeon ~

"The Bible is the only book whose Author is always present
when one reads it."
~ Unknown ~

"For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
~ Hebrews 4:12 ~

Have a blessed Lord's Day, my dear friends!

God's love letter to us! We should never get tired or bored with it. The more I read and dig into it the more my faith grows and the more it confirms the fact that it could not have been written by mere man but truly is inspired and written by the Holy Spirit. Thanks for sharing! God bless you, Stephanie.

So beautiful, thank you for sharing Stephanie. That white Bible looks like the one that I carried down the alter at my wedding. :-)

Beautiful and encouraging post. I liked the "unknown" quote that the bible's author is present when you read it. I never thought of it like that!

Hello Stephanie, I wanted to visit and say hello and I love your blog!!! Following you back. I love the sachets you made and that would so work with my Valentine's Day crafts. The white Bible is lovely. I love older books with white or pink looking covers. It is so beautiful with the lace. Love your post, Hugs, Beverly

So beautiful and meaningful!! And your photos are so lovely. They showcase the precious beauty of God's Word. And your doily is so pretty.

I love the sweet words, quotes, and scripture in this post. I think I become more aware and more and more thankful of what a treasure the Bible truly is each year I grow in my faith. The fact that God was so loving to give us a guide for our lives through the pages of it humbles me.

Thank you for this wonderful post. What a blessing you are to me, my friend!

Hoping you are having a joyful long weekend :)
Hugs to you~ Jazzmin

Such great quotes and poem! I received a new bible for Christmas this year, with large print. So now when I have my quiet time and read in the mornings I can read without struggling to get my bifocals just right, it makes my time with God that much more enjoyable now :)

Hi Stephanie! So good to be here again. And what a way to start reconnecting...with the importance of Scripture in our lives. I just love that quote on how we never outgrow the Word. If I ever think I do, I've got a problem!

So lovely to be here in your peaceful space. I hope you have a great Tuesday!

I *love* Spurgeon! And, the Word of God is precious...always just what is needful. How gracious our Great God is to give us His Word in our own language. It came to us at great cost. We are so blessed!

Many Blessings,
