The Remainder Of The House

This will be a hodge podge post
since I am going to combine several rooms into this one post :)
There are still a couple of rooms, the laundry room and my son's room
that will not be shown since the laundry room is still under construction
and my son's room looks like a tornado went through!

Let's begin with the dining room...

In our other home we did not have a dining room
and had our table right in the middle of our kitchen.
It was no big deal, but I must admit that having this extra space is lovely.

We were able to buy this dining table around Christmas time
so it was a Merry Christmas for us :)

My corner hutch fits perfectly in the corner of the dining room
and I am able to display a few of my tea cups.
The other tea cups are in my kitchen on the top shelf
which you may have noticed on Wednesday.

I also have several doilies peeking out from the drawer for extra sweetness.
The plates you see are 'Norman Rockwell' plates
and they are now hanging on my wall in the dining room.

Now lets head into the living room...

The large windows are absolutely wonderful!
It's simply lovely having natural light streaming in.

Ebony says "Hello!"
If you did walk through the front door she would greet you will lots of meow's and gentle purring.
She is quite the lover.

It is a blessing being able to sit next to a wood burning stove during the cold months.
It keeps our house cozy :)

As you can see, we went with a woodland theme for decorating
since our home looks like a log cabin on the outside.
Plus we live in the mountains and we love the woods so it just "fit." :)

The pine cones were just too cute to pass up
and the ceder table is actually my hope chest
which has been passed down from my great-great grandma.
My mom gave it to me when I got married and it's a sweet blessing to still have it in the family.

The theme continues on into the guest bathroom which is also my son's bathroom.

My son loves wildlife and was very excited to get a shower curtain
with bear, moose, and deer on it.

We have a small collection of antlers from our hikes in the woods
so we put them to use in the bathroom :)

Well sweet friends, I think that is all for now.
Like I said, there are a couple more rooms,
but they are not exactly picture-quality right now.
And when the trees begin blossoming I will take a picture of the outside :)

To see the other parts of the house you can click on the links below:

I hope you enjoyed the tour and to be quite honest,
I would much rather have you here in person to show you around
and then we could sit down, have a sweet treat, and enjoy some fellowship :)

Enjoy your weekend, dear friends!
Love and hugs!

Good Morning Stephanie,

What a wonderful dining room indeed! I love you hutches and your spectacular teacup collection.

I also do not have an actually dining room, just a side section of the kitchen, so I really know what you are talking about when you say you appreciate the space. I am not complaining, of course; I love my darling little home.

Oh yes, the wood stove makes the living room so cozy. It looks like you could cook a meal on top of your wood stove if you needed to.
How about a spot O' tea?

I love that pine-cone lamp and the way you have placed it atop a stack of old books...so wonderful!

What a treasure your ceder table is, too!

How nice that you have two bathrooms! And more pine comes...what neat shower curtain hooks!

Thanks for the pleasant visit into your home; I so enjoy seeing where you live.

Stephanie, it has been a treat to see your cozy sweet home, love all the woodland decorations, and how you display some of your doilies. I am sure it is great to have a dining room now, perfect place to display all your tea cups. I do love having sunshine streaming in my house and it sure looks like you are blessed with a lot of opportunities to have your home streaming with sunshine.
My parents gave each of us girls a hope chest when we graduated high school and I still have mine and am hoping to pass that down from generation to generation too, how terrific that you have that special piece.
I just love that branch with towel hanger in the bathroom, so unique and great to go with your theme, and how fun that you have brought back antlers from your walks to have in the bathroom to remind you of great times together!

You took the words right out of my mouth. I was going to comment how your home reminds me of a log cabin, all nice and cozy. Then you said it yourself. Great combination of styles - from tea cups to antlers. Love it!

p.s. And yes, I noticed those teacups from the other post. heehee

Hello again my friend - I have really enjoyed my tour of your house and really feel at home!!What a beautifully light and airy living room. I love the woodland decor, on the valances, the rug, the lamp - fabulous!!
I love the corner hutch in your dining room(think I commented on that in the post about your kitchen!!) I love my separate dining room as I only have a small kitchen, by comparison my dining room is fairly large, but it means we can all sit around the table after meals and have after dinner conversations.Your teacups and china are displayed so beautifully!!
Your son's bathroom is great - love the pine cone shower curtain rings - what a great idea!! Your attention to detail is great.
Look forward to further visits!!
Thanks again for sharing,
God Bless
