Patriotic Table Centerpiece

Good morning, friends!
The end of June is upon us
and for some reason my mind still thinks it's only the 1st of June :)

I was finally able to make something patriotic for the dining room table
and thought I would share it with you.
It's quick, it's easy, and it's cute :)

I dug through my burlap stash and found some white burlap that was perfect for a table runner.
I cut it to size and frayed the edges by pulling strings of burlap off.

Then I sewed some red, white, and blue ribbon onto the edges.

And that's it!
To make it a no-sew project you can glue the ribbon on rather than sew it on.

I added a lantern, red and blue vases with fabric flowers,
an old Bible, and a few old hymnals to make a pretty patriotic centerpiece
for the table.

Click here to find out how to make these simple yet lovely fabric flowers.

It will be celebrated. . .
with pomp and parade. . .
bonfires and illuminations
from one end of the continent to the other.
- John Adams -

Enjoy your week, dearies!
My heart is blessed to know you.

P.S. -Is anyone else having difficulties with their blogger reader?
Since yesterday when I sign into blogger it shows me only one blog in my news feed
and won't show me any other blogs that I follow. . .
Maybe it's just me :)

Several of us are experiencing the same problem with blogger. It is so frustrating and I am sure it is causing me to miss some posts.

I love your runner and centerpiece. Hard to believe June is almost over.

Have a lovely day, dear Stephanie.

Hi Stephanie!
This is lovely!!!!!
And I agree with you, I can't believe we are at the end of June! And after the Fourth of July....the summer seems to go even faster.
Oh, and yes...my Dashboard is having the same issue.
I did some checking, and Blogger is aware of the issue.
They are working on it.
I hope it gets fixed soon!

I love using burlap and your table runner is really cute. The blue & white ribbon just sets it off! I can't wrap my brain around the fact that July 4th is almost here! Time is justa flyin'!

I see you we all are having the same issue. Blogger is aware of it as I found out on a website this morning. What I have been doing is just going to my reading list and clicking each one individually of ya'll that I normally read and the newest post pops up... when you scroll back you will see it....it is very time consuming but at least you can see what everyone is up to!

Yep, I'm having the same issue with only one blog showing up on my dashboard. Sorry everyone is having trouble, but I'm glad I'm not the only one! :)

I live your patriotic table setting Stephanie, especially using the Bible and old hymnal books. Very nicely done.
I have not been to me blogger feed, so I'm not able to say of I'm having a problem or not. ??
Have a wonderful day!

Hi Stephanie,
I know what you mean about it feeling as though it's just the beginning of June. I think it took this long for us to thaw out! lol.
Such a lovely runner and those vases are perfect. What do you do on July 4th to celebrate?
There seems to be a lot of tech problems on all the blogs lately. Notifications, comments, you name it and someone is having a problem with it. I've got half a dozen issues that I can't figure out, lol.
Thanks for a fun post and have a great day, my friend. Hugs!

Stephanie, what a gorgeous table runner and centerpiece! Thank you for showing us how to make one for ourselves. I haven't given much thought of what to use as a centerpiece. Right now I have a rustic tray with a Yankee Candle in it.

What a pretty centerpiece. First of all, I am really into lanterns lately, and I love the color of this one. The red and blue glass vases add a special touch for the Fourth of July. And the hymn America The Beautiful is special with its old book charm.

Have a happy week, Stephanie. I can't believe it's almost July!

I have not put out any of my red, white and blue things! I think I forgot, I usually do it for flag day and then leave it out!

I have heard other grumblings from other bloggers. I use Feedly and since they've dealt with their hijackers (!) I've not had any issues with them.

As for your project, I think I might be able to pull this one off. I can glue! Yahoo. Thank you for the decorating tips. :)
