I've Got Peace Like A River

Not merely in the words you say,
Not merely in your deeds confessed,
But in the most unconscious way
Is Christ expressed. . .

And from your eyes He beckons me,
And from your heart His love is shed,
Till I lose sight of you. . .
And see Christ the Lord instead.
- Unknown -

"A professing Christian who is perceived by his family,
friends, and colleagues to be continually sour,
contentious, and discontent is a disgrace to the gospel
and a hindrance in the work of evangelism."
- Kenneth W. Osbeck -

As believers in Jesus Christ, we have the joy of experiencing the fullness of Him
and the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit.
We can live, dear friends, in the glorious hope for eternity with our Lord and Savior.
Those things alone ought to give us joy unspeakable
and ought to radiate from our hearts and lives.
Yes, there is joy and peace in the life of a believer.

I've got peace like a river in my soul.

I've got joy like a fountain in my soul.

I'v got faith like a mountain in my soul.

I've got love like an ocean in my soul.

I've got Christ as my Savior in my soul.

"The LORD gives strength to his people;
the LORD blesses his people with peace."
- Psalm 29:11 -

Have a blessed Lord's Day, dear friends!

The poem at the beginning of this post is so true. If people cannot see Christ in our daily actions and attitudes we have missed what Christianity is all about. Love your blog. It is beautiful, not only the photography, but also the thoughts you share. Thanks. Hugs and blessings.

Hi Stephanie! I wonder if that's why I like water so much? The flowing of a river can just settle me down like nothing else.
To have peace like that is priceless.
Blessed Sunday to you my friend,

Blessed Lords Day to you.
This was a lovely post, Stephanie, and the center of those flowers are amazing.
To reflect Christ in a way that portrays His peace, joy, love and faith, is such an honor to our Savior.
May He be glorified on my life.
Enjoy your day of rest.
Much love

Dear Stephanie, you are so right. People watch us waaay more than we know. They watch our facial expressions and are quick to hear the tone in our voice. Children especially do this, but it's easy to forget that most of our communication is non-verbal. Oh, to ponder and express the Beautiful Face of our Lord.
Much love, Maureen

Oh, my sweet Stephanie, thank you for this special Lord's Day post! It's always such a treat, and this week is extra special because of the wonderful hymn I now have in my mind! And, yes, it is amazing how unaware we can be that people are watching us. Just received an email from an old, old friend who reminded me about something that happened in high school and how my actions impacted her...still! Thank you for the wonderful reminder that all we do and say are to reflect His glory!! Amen!! Hugs, precious friend!
