Heartfelt Thanks...and Comfort Food

I am so thankful God sent me special people
to help with with pain and sadness.
You, dear friends, are those special people.
Once again, I am overwhelmed by your love and kindness
during difficult, sad times.
Thank you for the prayers and comforting words during this time of loss.
I am full of gratitude for each and every one of you!
My love and thanks to you :)

Autumn - a time for comforting soup.
A bowl of warm soup always hits the spot on a cool Fall night
and it's also a perfect dish for comforting and warming the heart.
Do you enjoy soup, my friends?
What is your favorite kind?

I always enjoy putting something on top of my soup
so I made a batch of pie crust and cut it into small pieces for a tasty topping.

Any pie crust recipe will do.
When you have your crust rolled out and placed on a pan
take a pizza cutter and cut the dough into small square pieces.
Bake your dough and allow to cool before serving.

Sprinkle on top of your favorite soup and enjoy!
Have a delightful day!

Stephanie, your soup looks so yummy...and I have never seen anyone do this with pie crust! What a cool idea...I know I would LOVE it 'cause I love the crust of a pie the most! Your little squares are so cute...they remind me of communion bread :) My favorite soup to make is probably chicken noodle...or vegetable beef ...or maybe it's chili...lol!!

Hi Stephanie! I love the idea of a homemade soup topping. Thanks for the great idea. Have you tried Zuppa Toscana? It's a new favorite of ours. The original is from Olive Garden, but the copycat recipe is even better. Here's the link in case you'd like to try it sometime:

Somehow I missed the post on your great grandma passing. Please accept my deepest condolences. Our loved ones never really leave us----well, in body they do. But they live in our hearts, don't you think?

And your great gram will go on living through you----through your laughter, your joy, your own memory-making! Susan p.s. Thanks so much for all your visits.

Hello Stephanie,
It is a long time since I have been over to your blog, I have only just come back recently to blogging after a long break. I am so sad to hear of your loss, it is wonderful though to know that you had a dear relative for so long and to know where she is now - thanks to our lovely Lord.
I love soup too, the main one I make is carrot and coriander which I add cream to when I reheat after storing in the freezer.
God bless you.
