Thanksgiving is only two weeks away, dear friends.
I don't do a lot of decorating for this holiday,
but I do like to add a few decor touches here and there.
I don't do a lot of decorating for this holiday,
but I do like to add a few decor touches here and there.
I decided my rocking chair needed a little Autumn and Thanksgiving love
so I made a felt pillow that sits sweetly on the chair.
All you need:
felt
embroidery floss
sewing needle
scissors
batting
button
sewing machine
Thanksgiving stamp
ink
scrap fabric
For the flower you will need to cut out four big petals
and four small petals.
The petals look like hearts with a straight edge rather than pointy.
Thread the needle and sew a running stitch through each petal.
Once all four petals are on the thread pull the needle through the first petal
and pull tightly then tie a knot.
The flower should look like this.
Do the same with the small petals.
On the main piece of felt embroider a stem and sew on the leaves.
Then sew on the pumpkins.
The pumpkin stems were glued on.
I stamped 'Happy Thanksgiving' onto a piece of muslin fabric
and hand sewed the piece on.
The flowers were glued on.
They are "sturdier" that way.
And the button was also glued onto the center.
I used the sewing machine to stitch the pillow together
and as you can see the seam is on the outside - I like the look of the edges.
When you're sewing the pillow together don't forget to leave a small opening
so that you can fill your pillow with batting.
And that's all you have to do :)
May your day be full of many sweet blessings, dear friends!

Your pillow is really cute, and I love, love that rocking chair. Hope your keeping cozy - we just got an early-for-our-area blast of cold air. Hope we get a little snow, too, as there's no sense in wasting freezing temps, I say. ;)
Have a great day, Stephanie!
A very sweet pillow....
Have a nice day !

Is Thanksgivings a vacation? Every day Thanksgivings? A week long? Here we only have one Thanksgiving Day :)

Very pretty.
My one friend made me many of them. I have them up on my shelf in my bedroom for show and tell.
Yours are very pretty.
Very pretty and colorful for Thanksgiving. I don't decorate much for the holidays these days. When my nieces and nephews were much younger, we enjoyed special holiday touches.
Beautiful and it sits so well in your rocking chair. I love the Happy Thanksgiving embellishment.

Aww what a cute Thanksgiving pillow you've created, Stephanie. I love the felt look and the little Happy Thanksgiving banner on it. You're so creative! xo
You always make the cutest things. Wondering about the comment though about boycott american women.
As always LOVE IT!!! :) I may try something like that.
That is really cute, Stephanie. The nice thing about working with felt is you don't have to deal with the fraying. It is just darling! xo Diana
It always amazes me how you just whip these things up! LOL!

Oh my, this little pillow is adorable! Thank you for sharing how to make it.
Happy Friday Stephanie,
What adorable pillows. Felt is big right now. I just purchased a sheet to play with. Your pillow design can be sewn up for any season. Love it.
Blessings!
