Come In For A Christmas Tour Of My Home

Happy day to you, friends!
I want to invite you into my home during this beautiful Christmas season.
As many of you know my husband and I were in the middle of moving
into a new home last Christmas and we didn't get into it until January.
So this Christmas is extra special since it's our first Christmas in our new home :)
I kept the decorations simple with touches of Christmas charm here and there.

Won't you please come in. . .

{ don't you just love the Christmas lights reflecting in the piano? }

Have a seat, dear friends, and simply relax and enjoy.

Enjoy the twinkling of Christmas lights. . .

The sparkle of Christmas ornaments. . .

And the sound of beautiful Christmas carols.

Shall we head into the dining room?
Maybe you would like some cookies and coffee? :)

I hung some delicate Christmas ornaments from the dining room light fixture.
The pretty white balls were given to me from my mom before I got married;
we put them away in my hope chest for future use and enjoyment :)

A simple garland made out of felt and glitter balls graces the top of my China hutch.
You can find the tutorial here.

This darling snowlady was hand painted by the lovely Celeste.
She has an Etsy shop filled with beautiful hand painted items
which is where I found this snowlady.
Celeste also has a wonderful blog filled with beauty and charm.
I know she would love a visit from you :)

And speaking of Celeste,
she painted these amazing ice skates.
Are they not incredibly beautiful and absolutely stunning?!

The detail is simply exquisite!

When I saw them in her Etsy Shop it was love at first sight :)
I would look at them every day. . .

This sweet little tea cart belonged to my Grandma Dee who gave it to my mom
and now I have the privilege of using it in my home.

It's the perfect place for my vintage tins and sparkly baubles.

My older sister loves to take old wood and make something out of it
so she made me this pretty pallet shelf.
I admire her and all of you others that enjoy working with wood and paint-
it is truly an artistic talent.

Now into the kitchen. . .

For the Christmas season my big wrapping paper wreath
has been hung in place of my dishes.

This charming Cardinal dish was found at the thrifty store a few weeks ago.
I couldn't pass it up since it reminded me of my Grandma Betty
and her love for these beautiful red birds.

You might remember these cute minature pillows from last year.
I thought they looked quite sweet in this Christmas-y red bowl.

The kitchen has the perfect view of the Christmas tree.

This little snowman keeps me company while I cook at the stove.

There is plenty of hot cocoa and cappuccino. . .

Maybe you could like some in a cup of Christmas cheer :)
Add some marshmallows to your hot drink and stir with a cinnamon stick
for a tasty, sweet treat.

Now lets head down the hallway
{my very short hall}.

Don't get caught under the mistletoe. . .
although that's the place I like to be when my sweet hubby gets home
* wink - wink *

At the end of the hall is my craft room
where I placed a small Christmas tree beside an old scale and books.
The wreath is a smaller version of my wrapping paper wreath.

There are pearls and bows adorning the tree.

A handmade pillow with polka dots and lace
and a jar filled with pearls and ornaments.

Come on in to my craft room. . .

Some tinsel and vintage ornaments lay on my piano.

And my sewing machine is made festive by a Christmas pin cushion.

It looks like Ebony is the wise one
as she has a sweet little nap on my bed :)
Maybe I'll join her in a little while. . .

I kept my room simple and added some shabby Christmas decor
to the top of my dresser.
I thought the pink and cream ornaments looked nice and feminine
with my dried roses and old white doily.

The crystal bowl is filled with pine branches and pine cones - it smells lovely!

Thank you for taking a tour of my home, dear friends.
How I wish I could actually have you into my home - what a joy that would be!
We could sit by the cozy fire with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot cocoa
and enjoy some sweet fellowship :)

Have a delightful day!
Much love and big hugs to you!

Stephanie I love the red and white. It's my favorite combination and you've done a beautiful job and placing here and there. Everything looks so cozy. My favorite parts are the balls hanging from the light, the balls in the tins and the jars and the Christmas tree in the crate. These make me happy.

Oh- Stephanie- What fun to decorate your house for the first time for Christmas. I love how festive it all is. I see you have two pianos, too! Love that.

What a wonderful tea cart that has been passed down to you. It is quite a fancy one.

The balls from the dining room fixture is a sweet touch, too. You did a great job. It looks like Christmas at your house! xo Diana

Hi Stephanie,
I SO enjoyed the tour of your lovely, festive home. I was a visiting nurse long ago, and I loved seeing how people lived in their homes
The nuts in the cardinal dish reminded me of my dear mother. It is 29 years today that she died -or as my friends Judy said today, 29 years ago she ascended into Heaven!
What a wonderful way to think about it.

ohhh Stephanie, so very beautiful!! every last detail has been given just the right amount of attention!!

I really enjoyed seeing the inside of your home. I used to have the hubs drive slow, at night, so I could look in everyone's home, to see how they were decorated. at Halloween, I would always go right up to the door with my kids, always looking at how homes were decorated. back in the day, before we had the internet!!

it looks like your tree just touches the ceiling, it's perfect. the skates were my very most favorite part but touch is so very special!!!!!

Even though I'm mom, I enjoyed my visit and touring through your lovely home, my dear.
Sigh... You take the best photos and your angles were great.
The red and white sure turned out beautiful, Stephanie.
Maybe I will have my tea with you tomorrow when I come to town. :)
Enjoy your cozy evening by the fireside.
Love you, Mom

Hello, my friend! Long time no "see!" ;) I do read your posts in my reader but am not good about commenting, obviously!

Your home is lovely and you knocked yourself out decorating, didn't you?

I was all excited about decorating for Christmas this year and we pulled all the stuff out and then I just ran out of time to do it all.

So I did not decorate the downstairs at all, and stuck maybe ONE or two decorations in the one of the bathrooms and put two decorations in the sunroom and called it good, lol!

Of course, I DID decorate the entry and the living room, and I put up the nativity in the dining room, but I really scaled down this year!

Oh Stephanie, If I came to visit I would curl right up on that comfy looking sofa and drink a cup of tea! Your home is lovely and such a blessing from the Lord. I adore that you have so much gorgeous light coming into each room. Makes it perfect for taking photos :) Love you, dear friend! {{hugs}}

Good morning dear Stephanie!!!! I am getting so excited to see how everyone celebrates their anticipation. To see Celeste's work in your home (don't you just love her?) and your sweet touch is so inspiring, really. I started to decorate, but it is so sparse yet I like it. Now to photograph it!

Every room is filled with your LOVE for family, life and light. Your white hallway with the mistletoe is GORGEOUS! My sweet friend, it has been so lovely to get to know you. I wish you many happy years of creating, blogging and fluffing up your beautiful new nest of a home. IT'S FUN!

Happy Thursday! Anita

Beautiful home and Christmas decor Stephanie! Trying to get the rest of my decorations up but time is ticking away from me quickly. Having a guest staying in our home for a week (last week) helped get a few things done at the front door, living room and porch before his arrival! Next is our Ladies Ministry Christmas luncheon on Saturday so not so sure if I will have any energy to finish except putting up the stockings and wrapping the gifts! (lol). Thanks again for sharing your beautifully decorated and organized home! What a great testimony! God bless!

Oh Stephanie,
I loved seeing your home decorated for Christmas. Isn't it fun to decorate a new home and make it your special space? I loved all the splashes of red, silver, and white, and the red cardinals made me smile big. Those little birds fascinate me. I really liked the classic red balls. My mom had red balls on her tree every year, and it looked so pretty.

Everything looks so charming and lovely, and your new home says "welcome" to me.

Sending my love at Christmas time.
