Lacy Wood Ornaments And Vicky's Ornament Exchange

Howdy, my friends!
Last Sunday my parents, grandparents, sister, brother-in-law and nephews
came over to my home to celebrate Christmas
since it was the only day that worked for everyone.
It was a time of sweet joy and blessing - my heart was overflowing with thankfulness.
My husband and I made some wood slice ornaments for our guests to take home with them
and I thought I would share them with you.

I have seen wood slices with beautiful etching on them,
but unfortunately I cannot draw - seriously!
So I decided to make the wood slices "my own"
and added lace, burlap, and buttons - my favorite kind of embellishments.

My darling husband cut the slices for me and drilled a hole at the top
for ribbon to go through so that the slices can hang from the Christmas tree.
He is such a handy. . .and handsome man to have around :)

I wrote different words on the slices such as

I figured the kiddos did not want lace on theirs
so I used burlap and foam stickers.

These are also perfect for tying on top of a gift package.
I simply used hot glue to apply the embellishments.

Have fun creating, sweet friends!

I had the delightful opportunity of being apart of Vicky's Ornament Exchange.
This was her second year of hosting and once again I was blessed by her efforts
and with the ladies I was paired up with.
Vicky blogs over at
and I know she would enjoy a visit from you.
She is a precious and darling lady.

Anne from
sent me the most beautiful ornaments.
Anne and I have known each other for about two years
and I was so thrilled to see her name on the card - what a pleasant surprise :)
She has become a very special blogging friend to me
and I am truly thankful for her.
Let me show you what she sent. . .

I am thoroughly enjoying the Mannheim Steamroller CD
and these pretty white buttons will be used for a very special project.

Her card was so beautifully made - aren't the pearls just gorgeous!

And the three ornaments are simply perfect
and look lovely on my Christmas tree.

Every time I look at them I think of sweet Anne :)
Thank you my friend!
And a big thanks to Vicky for all of her hard work
in putting this ornament exchange together.

I sent an ornament to Ann
{she does not have a blog}
and I had the most wonderful time putting her parcel together.
I did a snowman theme and here are the items I sent. . .

To see what others recieved through the ornament exchange
you can check it out here.

Have a joyful and blessed weekend!
Hugs to you!

Hi Stephanie, I love the wood chip ornaments you made. How thoughtful you are. You really got some nice gifts and isn't Mannheim Steamroller the best Christmas music. I have 3 of their CD's and thats the first order of business at Christmas time. Turn them on and get busy! I also snuck back and saw your home Christmas tour in your last post. Somehow I missed it before. Your home looks so inviting and you can tell love lives there. I really love your wreath made of wrapping paper and everything looks so pretty and festive..Happy Weekend..Judy

When friends' hands join in to create beauty, there is nothing like it in all seasons!!!!! Oh the fun I LOVE during the holidays! My husband and I are off to the antique shops near the lake today. We are going to run around like kids all over the city today because we just love to explore. Good weather will permit us to do this for we are going to have 50 degrees today! Odd for Minneapolis!

Happy day, Stephanie! Anita
