When you touch someones life for a mere second
you can touch their heart for a lifetime.

Hello, sweet friends!
Add this lace heart to your home
for a pretty feminine look that is perfect for Valentine's Day.
There are two ways you can make this heart:
with the sewing machine and without.
Let me show you both ways. . .
I couldn't decide which background I liked the best for my photos. . .
What do you think,
the red with mini flowers or the white doily?
The white background looks more romantic and shabby, doesn't it?
Okay, moving on. . . :)
To make a heart like the one pictured above you will need:
lace
wire
pearls
sewing machine
thread
scissors
embellishment - optional
Fold over the edge of lace and sew a panel for the wire to fit though.
My fold was probably around 1/2-inch.
Cut the desired length of wire for your heart.
The longer the wire the bigger the heart.
Slide the wire through the panel.
Connect the two ends of the wire and slide the lace over.
Shape the wire and lace into a heart.
Tie on extra lace, pearls, and a pretty embellishment
onto the center of the heart for a sweet look.
I attached a simple gold heart.
Since I still can't decide about which background I like more
I will squeeze in one more picture of the red :)
I hung mine on my hutch that holds many of my tea cups.
As you can see the heart is not perfectly shaped which is the way I like it-
it looks more "shabby" this way :)
And now for the no-sew way. . .
Tear a strip of cotton fabric - my second heart was much smaller than my first one
so my strip of fabric was about 1-inch wide.
Any wider on a small heart and the fabric does not lay nicely.
Apply hot glue or fabric glue to the strip and fold over to seal.
This will create a panel for your wire to go through.
Slide the wire through the panel and follow the steps from the first heart.
* * * UPDATE * * *
A blogging friend, Kelley, made the suggestion of laying the wire on the fabric
and then folding over the fabric onto the hot glue - you accomplish two steps at once :)
What a clever girl!
I attached a key and pink pearls to this heart.
And it joined my lace heart on the china hutch.
Have a beautiful day, friends!
Hugs and blessings to you.

Awww so sweet, Stephanie! I have to tell you that I like the red background, seeing that red is my favorite color! The hearts look so pretty hanging on your hutch and add a touch of ❤️ Day, but could be kept up all year.
Lovely...

Beautiful hearts Stephanie! They're so sweet and feminine! BTW, love the new blog look!
Very sweet...easy is just the kind of project I like best!
Both are beautiful makes, I loved the white background best so romantic I thought.
Those are both pretty. You did a great job!
How pretty....and how sweet of you to always share how you make things! Enjoy your day sweet friend! Hugs!
Both hearts are very pretty Stephanie. I'm a no sew kinda gal so I love that you showed that version too. Both are perfect of V-Day.
I love both hearts you made Stephanie! I love that you can make the heart if you don't have a sewing machine. They are perfect for Valentines Day.
Too cute! ♥
Both hearts are beautiful...but I think my favorite one is the one using the sewing machine. I also like both backgrounds! You are such a clever lady, Stephanie. Thanks so much for sharing.
Another pretty heart! I really love this one. I still have the one from last year made with paper towel roll ups. Have a great day!
Cute and easy project. I like the one displayed on the red background. The other one is hard to see the details. TFS
I can tell more about it with the red but I do love white and shabby chic! They are pretty.
The hearts are so gorgeous, Stephanie! Thanks for showing how it is made! Have a great day. :)
ooooooooooooooooooo....how lovely!!! I love the red one....so pretty!!! Blessings
These are SEW feminine. Sweet!
Suggestion: Lay the wire in the fold as you sew or glue. :-) Achieves two steps at once.
Hugs and happy weekend,
Kelley~
Really nice! Love the lace one! BTW, love your new header!
Stephanie...these are just too cute! I am loving the mini red print for the background! By the way, your tutorial pics are amazing, girl!
I love all the embellishments you add, Stephanie! Thanks for this!
I love this lace heart and like the red back ground best, but that lace background looks lovely too.
I could make one of these using my hot glue, couldn't I! :-)
Enjoy the beautiful day!
Love you
These are so sweet and beautiful! The no sew way is for me. :) I love the charm accents.
Love the first heart with the red background....it just screams Valentine's Day! The second heart is just so rustic and sweet and almost primitive. I love them both!
They are so cute! I like it on the white, but it looks adorable hanging on the china hutch!
What a beautiful decoration, dear friend!! I am so loving the shabby elegance of each one, and especially the pink pearls and key embellishments :) They are each lovely and romantic and look like they are so fun to put together.
Blessing and hugs, Stephanie!
I hope you are having a beautiful week so far!

Also, I just LOVE your new blog decoration and design!! I didn't think it was possible for your blog to be even more beautiful, but each detail and colors your chose for your lovely header and sidebar are all so pretty!
Hugs! ♥
Stephanie, it looks like you have a VERY nice sewing machine. And you put it to good use :) Your lace hearts are just beautiful.
Hello there sweet friend! I just adore you. You remind me of when I was first married; I so loved to sew on the weekends with my mama, and embroider, knit and make crafts. I pray you will always be able to enjoy the fun of sewing to your heart's delight. LOVE LOVE LOVE your ideas! Hugs to you! Anita
Definitely the red one ... It is an easy heart to make :)
I love how creative you are! I like the wired one....and though at first glance the white on white is fetching....Valentine's are always red...a red heart can't be beat. =) or so I think.
You always have such great ideas. Love it.

Such a beautiful idea Stephanie, something I could make with the girls.
We will have to go on a lace hunt.
Beautiful tea cups too.
Have a blessed weekend.

Stephanie, dear friend... Your creativity astounds me! These hearts are just so beautiful - I love them both:). I love hearts...I could hang them everywhere in the home! And what a precious quote - certainly one to ponder on... Many blessings to you - have a joy-filled day:). Love, Kelly-Anne
Soooooo pretty, I love how "dainty" your creativeness is!! I like the update, that would work and save time but I like sewing!! The displayed heart is beautiful on both backgrounds but shows better on the red. And it's Valentine's Day, the more red the merrier!!
your hearts are sooo pretty-what a lovely idea-and a quick make too-thanks much, and I loved both backgrounds-hugs
What a lovely little heart -- it looks so pretty hanging on your hutch!
My favorite has got to be the heart with the lace background. I know you don't hang it that way but it looks so lovely! What a cute idea. My bedroom is decorated with laces etc so I might make one for there.
How pretty and romantic are those lace hearts. I love the one with red background. But the one with Doyle background looks more romantic.
Enjoy your weekend dear friend.
These are so pretty, and look adorable hung on your hutch Stephanie. I wonder if you could take a white wire coat hangar and weave it through the lace? No sewing, no gluing? I'm thinking how I could do this, even easier, haha!
Have a lovely weekend, sweet friend.
Your lace hearts are so pretty, perfect and romantic for Valentinesday!
Happy weekend to you, my friend,
Hugs from Nina
You are so creative. Either one would also make a lovely front for a scrapbooking card. Love it. Thanks for the idea. ~hugs~ :)
Hi Stephanie! I think it's so wonderful how we all learn from each other. What a great tip for you from your blogger friend!
I like the red background the best myself, because of the contrast in color. I can see why you'd like white for the 'shabby chic' look too.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Stephanie, You have me wanting to get my sewing machine out now! I like the lace heart but I LOVE the fabric one. Not that I have any place to put something like that but it looks like it would be make a beautiful gift for a friend of mine. Thanks for sharing another great craft. {{hugs}}
