So I have been told I need reading glasses.
I know, I know, it's nothing serious,
but for a girl that never needed glasses it came as a surprise.
My dad just started wearing reading glasses and he's....well, he's older than me :)
Anyway. . .grab a cup of coffee, tea, water, juice, or whatever you like
and enjoy while I tell you my tale. . .
and enjoy while I tell you my tale. . .
{ I am having coffee with milk and sugar. . .lots of sugar }
My eyes have been a little fuzzy for a while now
and when I try to focus on something quickly it takes me a few moments.
So my sweetie pie husband told made me go to the eye doctor.
Friends, I had not been to the eye doctor in about 8 years - I guess it was time.
A few months ago I made the visit and was told my eyesight was fine,
but reading glasses would help with the fuzziness.
The kind eye doctor told me my eyes were simply tired
from staring at a computer screen so much {good ol' blogging}
and then spending hours late at night reading.
I am a book lover - always have been, always will be.
I am a book lover - always have been, always will be.
So instead of breaking my bad habits I shall simply aid them
by wearing my handy dandy new eyeglasses :)
{ My hubby got me this book by Julie Klassen for Christmas
and I am just now getting to it - so far it's great!
What are you reading at the moment? }
Okay, there is more to the story. . .don't worry, I'm almost done.
Shortly after I was told I needed reading glasses I was contacted by Firmoo.
Firmoo is an online global optical store
and they wanted to know if I would like to try a pair of their glasses.
What perfect timing!
Of course I said yes! :)
Here are my new glasses, friends. . .
The frames are. . .
Sturdy
Comfortable
Stylish
Lovely
The eye glasses fit me perfectly.
And now I can see "every letter in plain sight."
Firmoo also sent me a cute hard case.
Of course having a cutie patootie case to carry my reading glasses around in
makes wearing them all the more better, right? :)
Plus, I received a nifty cleaning rag,
a small tool for repairing my glasses,
and a nice bag for carrying my reading glasses in.
I am quite happy with Firmoo and the quality of their glasses is superb.
They offer prescription glasses at an affordable price
and they have beautiful classic and fashion frames galore.
Trust me, they have a lot to choose from.
They not only have eye glasses, but also sunglasses.
And if you don't need to wear reading or prescription eyeglasses
than you can simply buy the frames for a fun and "fashionable" look :)
Firmoo offered me a free pair of eyeglasses
in exchange for an honest review.

Don't you look so sweet with your new glasses and your hair up! They are pretty! I wear glasses too but only for driving.
I love Julie Klassen novels and can't wait to read that one but I have just finished Kristen Heitzman's Rose legacy and Sweet Boundless back to back as they were so good!
Have a wonderful day and thank you so so much for the honor of being featured yesterday on Roses of Inspiration!
Oh you look gorgeous in your glasses. I have worn glasses since being a teenager so it's not been a big deal for me. But my OH and friends who haven't worn glasses are all having a tough time accepting that they need to wear them. Unfortunately they don't get much sympathy from me. I hope your going to invest in a 'spare pair'. I always think it's nice to have a change depending on your look.
Ali xx
Your glasses suit you very well !!! I wear glasses too since 2013 for crocheting and reading. I love books too...
Have a great day !

Those are cute!
Welcome to the world of glasses, my sweet friend!
And you look lovely!!!
Fellow avid reader here, and my story is just the same as yours. : )
Tired eyes. : )
It is funny, though, how we take something so amazing as clear vision for granted, isn't it?
I mean, I was so confused when I couldn't make out a recipe card or book page!!!
Your glasses are perfect! : )
Ooh the glasses look so cute on you! I'm like your dad and just recently started to need reading glasses. I can still read without them, but my eyes have trouble then refocusing. The reading glasses have helped so much. Thank goodness that we have them, right?
Enjoy your new glasses and keep on reading! Love and hugs!
You look great in your new eye glasses Stephanie. I love the frames you picked out - hey are so stylish!
Stephanie, you look so darling in your new glasses. Your post hit home for me so much because I had the same story just a few years ago. I had never needed glasses, so it was a bit of a surprise for me to have to get reading glasses. Doesn't it make quite a difference though? So glad that you got a pair that you're comfortable with. I noticed your book shelf in the background.......wow, Nel would love that, as she is a book lover like you. I need to start reading again, Stephanie, so thanks for reminding me of this. You really do look so sweet. Still a beauty, even with your glasses. :~)
love, ~Sheri
(and I love your new blog design - it looks clean and fresh and pretty).
Oh, to answer your question.....no, those aren't Dove chocolates. They are Palmer, and I just picked them up at Big Lots the other day. They have the best taste and are my favorite chocolate at Valentine's Day.......and of course, Sees hehehe.
I began my journey with glasses at 42 and only wear reading glasses. Years of CPA work--computer-tiny figures---and I walked the same path you are. Here is my one word of wisdom. DO NOT increase the strength until you absolutely must. It is a slippery slope-after starting at 1--I am now up to 2. I still occasionally read without them--for the exercise it gives those eye muscles, but I pretty much have a pair on hand at all times. The case if lovely--but one of those bands around your neck keep them handy is even better and I will admit I wear mine on top of my head all the time when not reading.
They actually really suit you.
My dear,
you look so very nice with your eyeglasses, I truly think you to be even more beautiful than without them, you look so interesting and your eyes are much nicer in the spectacle-frame you've chosen, believe me !
Have a blessed continuation of the week, my sweet friend X

Well aren't you a cutie-patootie in your new glasses! I have glasses for very close, reading, computer, and now I need distance. My eyes have gotten pretty messed up/injured over the years. Had a horrendous herpes infection in the right one a long time ago and it scarred the center of the cornea. So everything is blurry in the center Plus I have some double vision there. And I have other stuff going on with my eyes. Really? Just got a new prescription for trifocal progressives. Hope I can adjust to them. And I WANT CUTE FRAMES!
:) m & jb ( who does not wear glasses, but likes to chew on the earpieces)
Look at you, so gorgeous! I love the photo of you in front of your book case, it is absolutely perfect for you and with your hair up,WOW!
Excellent review, Stephanie.
You really are quite cute with your new glasses. :-)
Love you and have a great day.
Mom
You are making those Firmoo frames look awful good! =D
It happens to all of us at a "certain" age! Like your style choice!
Bueno, ahora te sigo y espero tu visita.
Cariños desde Chile.

Hello! I also wear glasses for two or three years ago to read and watch closely. And I'm noticing that I must make another visit to the eye doctor because I think it is up to graduation. Also influences the computer.
Very nice your glasses. I lose mine all the time, so I put a chain to have them hanging from my neck, I had no other.
I too love to read, I'm bookworm. I just finished reading The Seven minutes from Irving Wallace and today start with I'll call you princess, Sara Blædel. Looks good.
Well, now I follow you and I hope your visit.
Cariños from Chile.

Stephanie, you look lovely in your new glasses!
I've worn glasses since I was a kid -- it's interesting to look back and see how much the styles have changed in the 20 some years I've been wearing them!
BTW- You look lovely in your new glasses!
Hello, I think they make you look smart and pretty! What an amazing difference it makes to have the help to read, the small print and of course for me while driving! I will check out this website (websight) LOL
You have your own library...
Blessings, Roxy
You look beautiful in your glasses. I really like them. Gotta check out this company. Yes, you are too young for this!
Adorable!
You are beautiful inside and out!
Thanks for sharing...all that you do.
Our love and prayers ~
Mrs Mayo for all
Perfect...you look adorable, and seeing is a major theme in our lives, isn't it? I have glasses for driving and TV, and reading glasses for books and computer.. I just wasn't ready for bifocals. Cute frames and that little case and kit, too cute...like you.
Dearest Stephanie, you look absolutely lovely in your gorgeous new glasses - hope they bring you many pleasureable hours of blogging and reading time:). Hugs to you!
Your new glasses suit you nicely. I like the tortoise shell frame. I wear glasses, but I have tri-focals; distance, computer reading and regular reading. Glasses are expensive, this sounds like a good way to maybe save a little money on them. Take care and have a blessed day, Heather
Hi Stephanie, you look gorgeous in your new reading glasses. The company sounds wonderful and very complete from the glasses to the case and then some. There is nothing worse then straining to see up close or far away. I am near sighted so distance is a problem for me. I wear one contact in my right eye which adjusts for distance. My hubby has the same only in the left eye. I guess when we are together we can see pretty well. LOL
Thank you for the review. Enjoy your many blessed hours of reading in your new sporty glasses. Love them!!
Hugs
Well, if you aren't just the CUTEST thing in your new spectacles!! Girrrrl...you rock them! I have been looking at glasses online too but not with that company...but I did upload my photo to another optical sight so I could "try" them on, online. It was awesome! And guess what? I picked some out almost identical to yours!! I decided not to go with this other company after I read some not-so-good reviews :( I may just have to go check out Firmoo!
Lindos seus óculos. O medico me pediu para usar e já estou dependente dos óculos. Mas gosto que deixa a pessoa mais bonita.
Tenha uma ótima semana.
They are lovely glasses! My story is just the opposite! For 50 years I wore coke bottle bottoms! I couldn't wear contacts. Then, when I was 52 I was diagnosed with early onset cataracts. (I knew this was coming, runs in the family.) After 2 surgeries, a week apart, for the first time since I was 2 years old, I don't need glasses! But I do use readers for close up artwork. 80)
God bless you in your stylish new readers!
The glasses look GREAT on you Stephanie. I wear reading glasses over my contacts, when I am not wearing my contacts, I have progressive lens eyeglasses. Love the pictures of you reading. ~ Abby
Gorgeous Stephanie! I wear contact lenses, but now have to wear reading glasses on top for any close work. I've now been diagnosed with glaucoma, so the future will be interesting :-) Enjoy those clear letters with less concentration on focusing. xx
You really do look good in the glasses, Stephanie, (and that's an honest review)! I do wear glasses and should have them checked soon since my eyes are fuzzy at times (from being on the computer too often).
All I can say about reading glasses is buy one for each room and the car and then buy a few more.
Getting old is not for the faint of heart. LOL
Oh how cute! I love your glasses, and they suit you so well. I'm lovin' the case, too. I've worn glasses all my life so I'm used to them.
I'm reading a fabulous series of adventure books by Linda Chaikin. She's a Christian author who writes historical novels and does her homework on the history. I don't usually read about pirates, but this series has got me in its grips. ;) Port Royal is the first one, and I'm on the second now, The Pirate and His Lady. Have a great day!
Love how your new glasses look on you Stephanie. And your hair looks so nice pinned up, too. And wow oh wow, look at all those wonderful books! What a delightful library!!
You look great in your readers! Tortoise shell is always a good choice...they go with everything. I personally love glasses...I wear them myself for reading. I didn't have to have them until I hit the big 40. Seems like that's when everything started going downhill for me...lol! I'll have to check out Firmoo! Have a lovely evening.
Blessings, Vicky
Very nice glasses and you looks so lovely :) Hugs to you!
Oh you look so sweet in your glasses. Love it! You are precious with - or without glasses.
They suit you, last time I went to the eye doctor he told me my eyes were improving but I have been wearing glasses for long sight for a while now but my glasses do not look as good as yours.
Merle........
Aw, pretty girl! They suit you : )
Love my reading glasses, I'd be lost without them!
Just look how cute you are!!!... Love your new glasses!... and so happy they are helping you read better... yes, I have had readers for a long time now... my vision is good, but fibromyalgia gives you blurry vision alot, so readers really do help me too... love love love all those books!... enjoy your new glasses and your books, xoxo... Julie Marie PS Love your hair up too!!!
Dear Stephenie, I have discovered it makes his blog small, and I am delighted with you. First to say to him that he still has the glasses precious, I also use glasses to read. I see that it has behind you many books. Always I had liked to read someone on amis, but I do not understand English it might say to me if someone exists in Spanish and where to buy it? .Muchas thank you. An embrace. M%y
Oh those are lovely! you look terrific! Love the glasses!
What funky glasses...I just love them. And you look so cute in them. Wish mine looked as cool
Hugs
Phoebe x
The frames look great on you Stephanie! I'm the opposite having worn eyeglass my entire life until getting Lasik a year and a half ago. Since I was close to 40, the doctors told me I would likely need reading glasses after my eyes settled. Sure enough, I needed the reading glasses too which was strange for me at first! Enjoy your improved vision.
Your glasses look very nice; and you look great wearing them.
I love Firmoo! I have 4 pairs of their glasses in all different styles, one of them sunglasses. I went a little crazy last year because they were so inexpensive and cute. I love being able to "try" them on too. Only one of the pairs does not fit well and I am going to take them to a local eyewear place. I recently had an eye exam and was I glad that my prescription didn't change! I didn't want to get all new glasses or change out the lenses in the ones I have. I am always checking their emails for my next pair. LOVE yours...I have two pair of the tortoise shell. They look great on you!
Greetings Stephanie! The specs are great and so is your blog! I am a dollmaker from Fl and now a new follower! Blessings, Jan
I think the specs look great on you. I too was once contacted by Firmoo. I meant to take them up on the offer but never did. I think I might have been between eye assessments which I do once per year. I'm glad it worked out for you.
these look absolutely beautiful on you! I have similar issues with not-quite-needing-glasses but needing them just enough that reading and computer-ing make me squint painfully. You chose really well for your face shape and hair cut, they look so perfect.
Stephanie, I was not familiar with this company until now. I must say, your reading glasses look GREAT on you. I will be getting new eye glasses sometime in the not too distant future. If memory serves me correctly the frames are similar to yours. Our daughter works for an optician and when I went to my ophthalmologist he faxed the new prescription to the optician my daughter works for. It was a fun experience to have her be the one who measured us for our glasses and helped us pick out our frames. :) I am so glad that you have some aid when it comes to reading now. I mean, seriously, what would we girls do without books? Hugs to you my sweet friend.
My first visit here. Love it. I'm digging your glasses and love the case!! Cute, cute, cute!
Ok, the case sent me over the edge of delight. You're a knockout in your new specs, girlfriend.
I'll be SEEING ya,
Kelley~
You look so cute in your new specs! Reminds me that I was contacted by Fimo also and have not gotten back to them. I thought it was a good company and would be happy to do a review. I wore contacts for years, but after having children I had a hard time wearing them. 15 or so years ago I had Lasik surgery. One eye was corrected for distance and one for closeup. I have loved it! Some people do not. I am just now starting to have to wear reading glasses for small print. Most of the time I can read fine without. I am quite a bit older than you my friend.. I love to read, but rarely find time to do so anymore.
hugs,
Jann
You look very cute in your new glasses. I have Firmoo glasses, too....they are the best! Hugs, Diane
Glasses suit you very well!
I like your glasses. I am 64 yrs. old and found out Monday I have macular degeneration of both eyes. What a shock. I cared for my dear friend for 15 years and she went blind from it. So I am trusting the Lord and praying for my eye healing. Thank you for your post on glasses.
I loved this post! You look so adorable! Like a beautiful librarian with all the books behind you. I cannot wait to get that book. My book budget is next to nothing right now, and I didn't get to review it, so I may have to try to get it inter library loan.
I just got new glasses after many years. It's taking some adjusting. How did Firmoo contact you? Are you part of a review team?
Blessings to you!
Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage
I am so happy I found your blog. I really do not read novels much at all. I have read the Mitford series, and a few Francine Rivers books - but, I never know what books would be tame enough for me. I do not like steamy books! LOL! And, you look pretty in your new glasses!
Great post and you look like a true librarian. Beautiful young lady!!
You look gorgeous Stephanie! Love the glasses and that adorable case! As for what I'm reading right now.....a book about Elvis Presley.
Hi stephanie, lovely blog en post! always nice to read here...thanks for visiting...God bless you ❤
Hello Stephanie,
Wow, you look amazing in your new spectacles, and they suit you perfectly.
I just love, love the case it's brilliant.
You look darling in your new glasses! I also love your pretty book collection in the background! My type of decoration!! :) I am reading Herbal Recipes for Vibrant Health by Rosemary Gladstar and Out of the Mouth of Lions by Emma Leslie (this is our homeschool read aloud but I am enjoying it very much about the early Christian church written during the Victorian Era so it is fiction based on fact, with all the lovely Victorian sentiment)...
I just found your blog and I like it a lot. You look pretty in your glasses.
I am reading:By the light of the silvery moon by Tricia Goyer.
Its about the Titanic, I just began.
Loes
Sweet Stephanie! BONJOUR!
OK, I missed your last post....I had a long day of meetings. First at school, then in my home with our poetry group! Like you, I need NEW glasses, and I best make my appointment soon, because when I read (and I LOVE TO READ), I am having such a hard time enjoying the page. THings are fuzzy!
Your frames are gorgeous. I am thinking of getting two pairs, one like yours, another like the ones I wear now (frameless), so that I can change out my look from time to time!
Have fun reading and crafting now, with new eyes! Anita
Oh, you look so sweet, Stephanie.. I need glasses badly but go between contacts with reading glasses to just regular glasses.. Depends upon the day.. smile.. I would love to get an offer like that.. What a blessing.. Take care, dear friend. xo Oh... Love your books, too.. grin..
You look fantastic with your new reading glasses!
It's been a while since I've visited and I wanted to say I love what you've done with your blog!! It's gorgeous!
Hugs,
Jan ♥
Oh you look beautiful, they are such a pretty pair of glasses.
No glasses for me yet but it will come.
Fondly Michelle
Very cute glasses! Your eyes should feel better now with your reading. I do wear glasses and have for quite some time. It used to be only for reading but now all the time. My eye doctor says I'm starting to develop some cataracts too. Yuck! How blessed to get your glass frames free.
I remember about 10 years ago when I started realizing it is getting harder to read small text, and found out I needed bifocal glasses, I have been wearing glasses since 9th grade when I came home and told my mom I couldn't read what the teacher put on the chalk board anymore. I can't wait to have my cataract surgery and be able to see again without this big blob of white that I see now. They look nice on you
I wear glasses too. You look lovely!AriadnefromGreece!
I wear glasses too-unfort last yr I had to get bifocals (gasp, I know.)--the old eyes (wink) are getting old. I love your glasses, very pretty Stephanie and how smart you look (more giggles--don't you know, us people who wear glasses are more smarter? giggling). Blessings
I've been wearing glasses since I was in elementary school so I'm used to wearing them. I think you look lovely in your new glasses, but I'm sure it will take you some time to get used to them. Also, I'm happy to say that I'm also reading The Secret of Pembrooke Park. I just started chapter 6 and I'm really loving the story so far. What chapter are you on? Have a good evening, Stephanie.
I have to wear glasses when I drive or try to read from a short distance. I've been wearing them for about 5 years now. It's a weird thing to get use to, but it's so nice to "see" when I put them on. One of the beauties to getting older I guess. Good thing mine are fashionable like yours. :)
You look very pretty and sophisticated in them. I really like the style!
Have a blessed week, Stephanie!
Hugs,
Amy
You look adorable with those glasses on!
Aw...look how cute you are in those new glasses!! When I first needed reading glasses they weren't nearly as cute! Now I have to wear contacts all the time and you know there are no fashion choices in contacts! LOL!
Your new glasses look great on you! I'm afraid I better change some habits myself, or else I'll end up having to get some too. Looks like Firmoo did a good job.
Oh, those glasses are so great looking on you, Stephanie! I put off getting reading glasses too but there came a time when no matter how much I stretched my arm out, I still couldn't make out the words, lol. I'm going to check out this company - thanks for the tip! Enjoy your day, beautiful lady!
Your glasses look wonderful on you, Stephanie! I was just at a glasses store with my Grandmother this past weekend while she picked out her new frames, so it was funny to me that you just posted this. It was fun to look at all the frames and try them on for fun while she got things taken care of. Your glasses must have been so fun to get and try. Between you and me (and everyone who might glance at this comment, haha) I actually bought a pair of clear lens glasses from Claire's a few years ago just to wear for fun. I just thought it would be neat to wear glasses sometimes ;)
I love your glasses and am so glad your eyes will be aided while you read and blog :)
Love and hugs, sweet friend!!
I hope your weekend is wonderful♥
You look so cute in your glasses Stephanie! I have been wearing glasses for reading for a few years now but am needing them to see more than just words up close lately so find myself wearing them more often. I have one pair for reading and another for computer use. Makes life much easier without the squinting (which often led to headaches) and fuzzies : )
Oh my, you look wonderful in glasses and such a cute style. I've been wearing glasses since I was about 7 years old and can barely remember life before them. I'm sure you'll find everything much clearly and easier on the eyes too.
Oh my, you look wonderful in glasses and such a cute style. I've been wearing glasses since I was about 7 years old and can barely remember life before them. I'm sure you'll find everything much clearly and easier on the eyes too.
I think you look really cute. I've worn glasses since college, but was surprised at 39 when I was told I needed glasses for my "aging" eyes. Now I need them to read all the time and I have about five pairs, "just in case."
Love the glasses and the case. I have worn glasses since about 8th grade, switched to contacts when I was in my late teens. Can't see a thing without them. and then, of course, once I was over 45, reading glasses became very, very necessary. :) Best wishes, Tammy
Oh, Stephanie, these glasses look amazing on you! Love the new updo too.
I'm exactly the same! Never had any problems with my eyes until a couple of years ago. I can't focus very well at short distances, I have to keep everything at an arm's length to be able to see it properly. When I first tried on some basic reading glasses, I was like wow, everything is crystal clear now! I see you haven't given in to the Kindle craze yet? I used to think I wouldn't like it, but I couldn't go back to reading printed novels now. I was totally sold on the built-in light and the fact that I can change the font size. I still buy printed craft and reference books though - those are a completely different kettle of fish! Your new glasses suit you perfectly!
Oh lol, I'm new here (hello there) and was scrolling through your beautiful blog, when I just HAD to stop here and comment. Because I just got my first reading glasses as well :) Gosh, we're growing old I guess, lol. Your glasses suit you very well! Wishing you a beautiful day!
I was told I need glasses a few years ago, and I was as shocked as you were at the news. Glasses were always for older people, not for younger people barely in college. Like everyone else has said before me, you look stunning with glasses daring. http://www.miramareye.com/
I am glad to see that you have bought glasses. It's amazing how much of your life is affected by poor sight. This will certainly have a positive impact to everything you do. http://webstereyecare.com/optical.html
These glasses are so cute! I love the pattern on them. If those were mine, I would wear them everyday! They look so cute on! I like that they aren't huge, and don't drown out your face. They look perfect on you! Thanks for sharing!

I think I may need reading glasses soon as well. When I read things start to get blurry and less crisp for me. I really like your frames with the two different colors. I'll probably end up going with a blue color for mine. http://www.northtceoptom.com.au/index.php/eye-exam
It sounds like your husband and I have something in common! My wife has been having irritation with her eyes, whenever she tries to focus on anything. I'd like her to go to an eye doctor, to get them checked out. However, she thinks that it's from not getting enough sleep. Hopefully, I'll be able to get her into somebody to get her eyes checked, to see if she needs glasses. http://www.optiqueboutiquenl.ca/en/products_and_services.html
