Easter Birdcage

My sin, O the bliss of this glorious thought,
My sin not in part but the whole
Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
It is well. . .
With my soul. . .
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
- Horatio G. Spafford -

Happy day to you, friends!
Guess what?!
I finally purchased a birdcage {I know, not too exciting},
but you see, I have been wanting one for the longest time :)
I see so many sweet ideas and uses for birdcages on my friends blogs
which in turn has inspired me.
So I finally went to Michaels and got one.

I'd love to show you what I did with my birdcage. . .

And when before the throne,
I stand in Him complete;
"Jesus died my soul to save,"
My lips shall still repeat.
Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
- Elvina M. Hall -

In my birdcage I added some Spanish moss,
a cross made out of nails {found at Hobby Lobby},
and some pretty yellow flowers.

I simply cut the flowers to the desired length
and tucked them into the moss.

There is a green hill far away, outside a city wall,
where the dear Lord was crucified, who died to save us all.
We may not know, we cannot tell what pains He had to bear;
but we believe it was for us He hung and suffered there.
O dearly, dearly has He loved!
And we must love Him too,
and trust in His redeeming blood, and try His works to do.
- Cecil Frances Alexander -

Worthy is the lamb who was slain
to receive power and riches and wisdom,
and strength and honor and glory and blessing!
- Revelation 5:12 -

I begged asked my son if I could borrow one of the rocks from his collection
and he very nicely said I could - what a sweetie :)
He and I decided to place a butterfly on the stone.

O the love that drew salvation's plan!
O the grace that brought it down to man!
O the mighty gulf that God did span
At Calvary!
Mercy there was great and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty,
At Calvary!
- William R. Newell -

I also printed out the third verse of How Great Thou Art
and applied it to card stock.
I thought the words were the perfect accompaniment to the birdcage.

And when I think that God, His on not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross my burden gladly bearing;
He bled and died to take away my sin.
Then sings me soul, my Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
- Carl Boberg -

I folded the card stock
and placed it in front of the birdcage.

I placed my Easter birdcage on some old hymnals.

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
the emblem of suffering and shame;
and I love that old cross where the dearest and best
for a world of lost sinners was slain.
O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
has a wondrous attraction for me;
for the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
to bear it to dark Calvary.
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross
and exchange it someday for a crown.
- George Bennard -

Thank you for visiting
and may you have a beautiful day, sweet friends!

Stephanie, your presentation of your lovely bird cage along with all those perfect Easter hymns and quotes were just beautiful!
The close up photo of the yellow flowers and cross...oh did that ever touch the center of my heart, stunning.
"the old rugged cross" that was the first hymn I sang with some other ladies at church on Resurrection Sunday just after I gave my life to Christ and made Him the Lord of my life. I shall never forget the joy of singing that as a new believer in Christ.

This was an inspiration to see this morning, beautiful, just beautiful.

The Lord bless you today my dear.
Love you, Mom
