Miss Birdie Belle's New Home. . .And The Meeting Of A Blogging Friend

Came the Spring with all it's splendor,
All its birds and all its blossoms,
All its flowers and leaves and grasses.
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow -

Ah, Spring is in the air, dear friends!
The trees are beginning to bud {some of you already have blossoms},
the grass is turning green, and the birds are singing a happy tune.

My favorite weather
is bird chirping weather.

A dear, precious friend from the land of Oz sent me this sweet pink bird as a gift
and I thought she, Miss Birdie Belle, needed a home to nestle into.

I had an extra tea cup that was tucked away in the cupboard
and it turned out to be the perfect size and color for Miss Birdie Belle's new home.

The colors of Spring emerge
with the first sweet sounds of song birds
to fill our Winter weary souls;
bringing hope, new beginnings, and inspiration.

This is my Father's world, and to my listening ears
All nature sings and round me rings the music of the spheres.

This is my Father's world - the birds their carols raise;
The morning light, the lily white, declare their maker's praise.
- Maltbie D. Babcock -

I applied lace to the outside edge of the tea cup.
And then I created a pile of pearls for Miss Birdie Belle to sit upon.

Every girl wants needs pearls, right? :)

Roses grace the top of the tea cup
because roses make the world a more beautiful place.

All Thy works with joy surround Thee,
earth and heaven reflect Thy rays,
star and angels sing around Thee,
center of unbroken praise;
field and forest, vale and mountain,
blossoming meadow, flashing sea,
chanting bird and flowing fountain
call us to rejoice in Thee.
- Henry van Dyke -

Miss Birdie Belle is very happy and content in her sweet little home -
I can hear her singing a lovely new song :)

A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer,
it sings because it has a song.
- Maya Angelou -

Happy Spring to you, sweet friends!
Your visits and comments always bless my heart.

You have to believe in happiness,
or happiness never comes. . .
Ah, that's the reason a bird can sing -
on her darkest day she believes in Spring.
- Douglas Malloch -

So. . . this past Monday my family and I
had the blessed opportunity of meeting Roxy, a fellow blogger!
Roxy and I have known each other for a couple of years through blogging
and we have often talked about the day we would meet face-to-face.
This precious lady has encouraged me through her blog posts
and through many personal emails.
She blogs over at

The Lord opened the doors and made it possible for us to come together
and oh my, what a sweet time of fellowship we had!
It's easy to wonder {at least I do} if the lady will be how she portrays herself on her blog
or if she will seem like a different person. . .
Does that make sense?
Well, sweet Roxy is just as lovely and beautiful in person as she is on her blog.
The second she and her husband stepped into our home
it was like welcoming long-time friends.
Roxy has the gift of communication and instantly began chatting and it felt like
we had known one another for years and years.

Roxy and her husband share their love for the Lord
and it shines forth from their lives.
They are living testimonies for Jesus Christ and it is very refreshing.
Thank you, dear Roxy, for blessing my heart with your love and friendship.
This lovely lady also blessed me with a beautiful gift. . .
but you will have to wait to see it in a future post :)

I would encourage you to visit Roxy. . . she is a gem!

You made an adorable nest for Miss Birdie Belle, and I love the songs you posted. Back in the day we sang This Is My Father's World in school. It was a small town school that paid no attention to regulations. ;) Have a lovely day, dear!

Hi Stephanie. How fun for you to meet a fellow blogger. I love that. I got to meet my pen-pal a few months ago and that was also a treat! Seems we both focused on Springtime birdies today! -smile
Did that cup have a crack in it? It's so pretty, I don't think I could craft it up unless it did...but, that's me. I have some of my cracked ones hanging outside because they are still so lovely! (((hugs)))

You are so creative, dear friend, turning the most simple little gifts into beautiful pieces of art! :) And how wonderful to meet a dear lady face to face, having already been friends for so long. That is a special and grand blessing! (I've been privileged to meet a few penpals after years of corresponding.) And you are right, it is precious when they turn out to be just as sweet in person as they are through letters or blogs. I'm so glad you were blessed with this happy day and meeting.

With love,
