Cheerful Posies

Happy day, friends!
Many of you know that I love making fabric flowers
and I love having them around the house.
You see, I have a slight problem. . . I can't seem to keep the "real" flowers alive.
Maybe it's the fact that I forget to water them
than when I do remember I give them too much water. . .
It's a vicious cycle :)

Anyway. . .
I thought my red kitchen needed some posies
{ it is spring after all }
so I made these little pretties in a jiffy.

I used a free flower template which you can find here.
The circle template was used for the center of the flower.

On the front side of the flower I hand sewed on the circle
and then added a button.

I hand sewed the flower around the edges
and left a small opening to fill with batting.
After that I sewed the opening closed.

{ April showers bring May flowers }

And finally. . .
I used red paper straws for the stems.
I simply slipped them into the flower and voila!
If you feel the need than you can add some glue for extra stability.

Happy . . . Cheerful . . . Bright

I placed them in a vintage canister which held rice -
perfect for holding the flowers upright.

Create a fun bouquet for you or for someone special.
And the good news. . .these flowers never die :)
Although they might need a good dusting every now and then.

Thank you, sweet friends, for your visits and comments - you are a joy!
Hugs and blessings!

What s bright and cheery way to add beauty and inspiration to your kitchen, Stephanie!
They would put a smile on any face. :-)

All morning I have been watching the little barn swallows feast on the left overs from the bluebirds and Turkeys. There must be a good 20 or more. Their so precious, content to eat what is left and freely moving about with a song in their hearts.
They cause me to reflect on the goodness of our Heavenly Father, and to be content with His provisions.

Spring is here! :-)
Have a happy day!
I love you ~ Mom

These fabric flowers are fabulous!!
Lexie will love having a go at these.
So sorry that I haven't been round recently - life gets so hectic from time to time!! We have had two holidays already this year (in search of the sun!) and had replacement windows fitted, so I have a rather poor excuse for not being available some weeks!
It will be a while before we go away again, but the golfing season has started in earnest and I have played three times this week already!!
It's lovely to come and visit and I will try and catch up on old posts.
take care my friend and God Bless!!

These are so adorable, Stephanie :) I love flowers, too, but whenever we get real flowers they always seem to bring bugs in with them- something I do NOT like ;) I've been trying to find a little craft project to work on and this may just be it :) I have some extra fabric from a previous project that would be just perfect for this- thank you for sharing it with everyone today!! Hope your day is full of sunshine and love! Sending you a hug!!

Stephanie, your fabric flowers are so delightful. I really like the designs and colors you chose. I didn't know you had red in your kitchen. I had red in my kitchen for so long until I changed it to white because of my grey countertops. But I still love to see red in the kitchen. You did a great job on the flowers, they're so cute.

I wanted to thank you for the comment on Nel's PhD, I appreciate it very much. She still can't believe that she is finished with it all. She keeps thinking she has more to do haha.

love, ~Sheri

How cute!

I'm also guilty of over watering plants and flowers. I've been flower-sitting my boss' orchids at the office and they've been blooming beautifully, despite the excess watering. Heh.

Hello dear Stephanie

I love these posts of yours with inspiring projects to jazz up our homes!

This is perfect even for those that don't sew as they can put these flowers together with a little tacky glue at the edges - easy peasy!

I'm like you - a disaster when it comes to indoor plants, but I have green fingers when it comes to my garden thank goodness!

Wishing you a happy fun filled family weekend
