Good morning, friends. . .and happy Thursday!
Any big plans for the upcoming weekend?
Whether you are headed off somewhere or simply staying home to relax
I hope you have a beautiful time.
Now. . .how about a delicious recipe to enjoy with your loved ones over the weekend :)
This roasted lemon and rosemary chicken is from Simply Fresh Dinners.
Robyn and I have known each other for a while now
and her kindness, friendship, and food blog have been a highlight in my life.
Robyn puts together not only delicious and appetizing recipes,
but also healthy and inspiring meals.
She is a genius at whipping up food with unique ingredients
that make for an oh-so-good food experience.
I made this divine roasted lemon and rosemary chicken dish
for the Mother and Daughter Banquet that was held at my church in May.
The ladies raved about this dish {I am not exaggerating} and many asked for the recipe.
Thanks, Robyn! :)
I made the recipe just like Robyn's, but when the chicken was done cooking
I laid the chicken, lemons, artichokes, and rosemary on a bed of cooked wild rice
and then poured the remaining sauce over everything.
Wow, was is ever good!
My friends, you will not be disappointed with this yummy recipe
and it's the perfect dish to enjoy over the weekend.

I mentioned I took this dish to the Mother and Daughter Banquet
and I thought I would share some photos :)
I was given the privilege of decorating. . .it was truly a joy and blessing!
The theme was "Grow in Grace."
I will let the pictures {there are a lot} do most of the talking.
Enjoy. . .
You know me. . .lace and pearls are my friends :)
The cans of flowers were given away as gifts
to mothers, grandmothers, and daughters.
I went with a burlap and lace theme along with sweet birds :)
These jars were wrapped in burlap and filled with moss.
The turquoise flowers were found at Michaels for only $1.50.
The Devotions From The Garden book was put to good use.
I placed it in a cookbook holder and left it open to a page on "Pruning."
I received this book to review and I absolutely love it!
I would highly recommend this devotional.
Simple tissue pom-poms sat in the windows
with a doily and pearls.
The tables were put together so that everyone could sit by each other
and enjoy sweet fellowship :)
I laid out a strips of burlap and on top was a looong table runner
that I sewed together for this special occasion.
Logs were also used for the centerpieces
and underneath were simple doilies.
I also made burlap and lace silverware holders
and I clipped on a bird clothespin to the top edge.
Flowers right in front of the food table.
Thanks for the visit, my friends!
Enjoy the upcoming weekend - may it be delightful and relaxing!
Don't forget to check out Robyn's tasty recipe :)

What a coincidence -- I just made lemon pepper chicken (quite similar to this but with different spices?) last night for dinner! Yours looks delicious and next time I'll try it with rosemary.
You made raw chicken look good! Amazing! (John is not a fan of lemon so I must pass, but I was tempted!) What a lovely Mother~Daughter Banquet. (I like the barrel used as a pedestal...cute! )
The chicken dish sounds wonderful, my friend, and,I will definitely check out the recipe.
You decorated the room so beautifully for the banquet! Of course, your signature lace and pearls are always so special. I especially love the log pedestals used down the center of the table. I'm sure all the ladies enjoyed themselves immensely. You use those lovely hands of yours, which God gifted you with, for cooking, creating, sewing and decorating. Love and hugs!
All the displays for the banquet are just beautiful, Stephanie! I also like your lemon chicken photos. I once did a post on the time I accidentally grabbed lavender from my herb garden, rather than rosemary. We had lavender lemon chicken. Believe me, I make sure to double check now. LOL
Oh my goodness, Stephanie, thank you so much for the shoutout! Your chicken looks absolutely delicious and I love that you added rice and used the sauce to flavor. Great job!
You have put so much time, care and attention to your event and I'm sure it was much appreciated. Everything looks so lovely and welcoming. You're so talented, my friend!
You have made this a very special day for me, sweet lady. Thanks so very much!
Lots of love to you.
Oh, dear friend! I love ladies get togethers...especially when it is for mothers and daughters!
I adore your idea to place logs on the tables as centrepieces...adds such a wonderful rustic charm, and the tissue pom-poms are so darling:)
Hmmm...I love cooking so much, and lemon is a favourite ingredient of mine! I will have to try this delicious looking recipe...yours turned out amazingly and looks very good!
Thank you for the inspiration today...always a treat to come by and see what you've been busy with:)

Oh my, that chicken dish looks so yummy! And you did a marvelous job decorating for your banquet! I love the theme...and the logs added a great touch! Thank you for sharing the recipe and your decorations with us!
Oh yum! Right now in starvin marvin!! I will certainly make this dish since chicken is a mainstay for me. Maybe I could make it for grandpa Bill while we are visiting. :-)
Dad and I just took a lovely walk into town and stopped in at the market. I bought another Phil Coulter tape, and the sweet older gentleman that looks after them gave me one free just because. :-)
Wasn't that sweet of him? :-)
Your decorating sure turned out beautiful, Stephanie.
Have a lovely day my dear.
Much love ~ mom
Your decorations at the party are so lovely! I love the little birds and flowers on the logs- that was so clever! All of the little lovely details really made it all come together so beautifully! :) What fun you all must have had!
That chicken dish sounds (and looks) absolutely divine! I'm going to have to print that one out and make it sometime. Pretty much anything with chicken is a winner over here ;) And the wild rice would really add a nice touch- a favorite of mine!
Thank you for this lovely post, as always! It's always such a delight to come and visit you- I always leave your blog with a smile and much encouragement!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! We're going to a horse show on Friday and Saturday night, and that's always a yearly highlight and lots of fun! Here's hoping the weather isn't too hot and it doesn't rain ;)

This was perfect timing to come by and read your blog this afternoon! I had chicken thawing, and changed my intentions for it, and went and made your rosemary lemon chicken - it is in the oven right now, and oh my, it sure smells good! I didn't have the sprigs of fresh rosemary, but used some dried, and added rice to the pan and placed the chicken on top. I can't wait to have it for dinner! Thanks again for the wonderful inspiration here... and your ladies banquet was nothing short of amazing! All the sweet touches, what a treat for all who came! You are such a talented lady :) Thanks again for the inspiration I found here today! :)
Everything looks so cute! I love burlap and lace, the watering cans are so cute and so are the birds. I'm saving the recipe too! Thanks!

I think this chicken recipe is marvellous!!
What a nice idea: a mother-daughter banket, all decorations looks so nice.
I bake apple, fruit- and marzepan cakes for our Church.
It's rewarding work to do something for the Church.

That recipe is just so elegant and perfect for a group of ladies. Such pretty decorating! My, what a lot of work you did! Your love of sewing pretties shines through!
The chicken looks delicious - rosemary and lemon is a classic combo. It looks like you were the right lady to decorate the banquet. I love that you used pansies and fresh moss.

Wow, Stephanie, you did a beautiful job decorating for the mother/daughter luncheon. It is just gorgeous. I love the colors you used and the planks of wood are such a perfect touch. I love mixing elements like the3 wood with lace and pearls. So pretty! I'm sure all the ladies enjoyed it! The lemon chicken dish is so pretty and looks quite tasty as well. Have a lovely day my friend!
Oh how I wish I had even an iota of your eye and talent for decorating. Everything you do looks so welcoming!
