Fruit and Nut Bars From Britain

Hello, sweet friends!
How is your week going?
Please forgive me for being absent from your blogs this week.
I have missed visiting all of you, but I have been down with a bug. . .
hopefully I will be by your lovely places soon :)

I truly hope all is well in your beautiful neck of the woods,
and speaking of woods, the weather is simply perfect here
in the mountains for some good ol' hiking.
As you can see from our backyard we are surrounded by the glorious mountains
and we like to take advantage of them during these last days of summer.

Of course when my family and I head up into the woods
we like to take snacks with us especially healthy and nutritious snacks.
So when Natural Balance Foods contacted me
about trying some of their Nakd Fruit and Nut Bars I gladly agreed.

There are a few things about these bars that make them wonderful:

gluten - wheat - dairy - free

NO added sugars or syrups

nourishing and delicious

And to make them extra great
they are made in Britain {{smiles}}

When I received my package of nutritious goodness from Natural Balance Foods
I was tickled pink with the message on the inside of the box. . .
What a great way to make a girl feel extra special :)

These bars are made with raw fruit and nuts and are cold-pressed and not baked.
I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of flavors and
as you can see in the photo below there's plenty to choose from.

The first bar that I bit into was the Pecan Pie
and to be honest I was disappointed by the taste of it.
It was rather "blah" and boring in flavor and was just too plain for my liking.
Now this is simply what I thought of this bar.
I gave a piece to my mom and she loved it
so it goes to show we are all different.
But moving on. . .

The next bar that I tried was the Apple Crunch
and oh boy, was it tasty!
I simply loved the fresh sweetness of it.
The flavor of the apples reminded me of dried apple chips.
Also, the crunch bars are packed with protein crunchies -
definitely an added bonus.

The second bar that I tried was the Berry Delight
and oh boy, oh boy, oh boy was it ever delicious!
I would have to say this one is my favorite.
If you have followed my blog for long than you know I love sweet treats
and this bar was just right with its sweetness and yummy flavor.
And the best part is that it's good for me
so I don't have to feel guilty about enjoying one of these bars.

And finally, enjoying one Nakd bar left me feeling satisfied and content for several hours.
There are times in the afternoon when I get hungry before supper
and it's easy to grab snacks that aren't good for me
and often they leave me still hungry.
The Nakd Fruit and Nut Bars are perfect for grabbing to enjoy as a snack.
And remember I mentioned enjoying hiking here in the mountains?
Well, these bars are the perfect thing to take while my family and I are on the trails.
They will keep our little ol' tummies full
and give us the needed energy for finishing the climb.

I personally think it's all about finding the Nakd Fruit and Nut Bar that is to your liking.
I thoroughly enjoyed the fruit bars and would gladly get more of them.
I also enjoyed a few of the chocolate bars {after all, you can't go wrong with chocolate},
but the nut bars {such as the Pecan Pie}
did not sit well with me and that is simply my own preference.

The Nakd Fruit and Nut Bars are not available in stores here in the USA,
but you can order them from Natural Balance Foods
and they will ship the bars for FREE.
They also include a "sprinkle of freebies in every order."

If you want to eat healthy and enjoy a nutritious and tasty snack
than these fruit and nut bars are for you.
Feel gorgeous on the inside, my friends!

I would encourage you to visit the Natural Balance Foods website.
You can choose the sampler box in order to figure out what your favorite flavor is.

Have a delightful day, lovelies!

I was contacted by Natural Balance Foods to try their fruit and Nut Bars
in exchange for an honest review.
All thoughts are my own, dear friends.

You had me at rhubarb...I am amazed at the flavor combinations! I have never heard of them either but they sure do look good. I wonder if they will ever be available in the USA? Your view from your backyard is simply amazing and I'm just a bit jealous! Have fun hiking the trails and eating those yummy bars...and yes, you ARE gorgeous! :)

I am always looking for snacks that are healthy and delicious. I do believe we will give these a try, Stephanie. Thank you for the review.

Enjoy your day and I hope you are feeling much better!

You have a wonderful hiking area right in your backyard, it must be nice for autumn walks.
The bars appear to be a welcome change from the usual granola bars I eat and you're right, what i like my husband doesn't. The rhubarb and custard is what I would reach for first to try. I'll have to see if the British store and tearoom not far from us will be carrying them, Canada is usually the last to get in something new though.
Hope you are feeling better, I've had the cough from a summer cold dragging on for over a week. :-(

Oh what scenery you have around you! It is gorge-eous in fact!
Well, I didn't see a gorge, but mountains do have them : )
Not surprised you want to go hiking in the glorious September sun.

Yes, I have tried the Nakd bars, I DO like the nutty ones, my fave being the cashew one. I sympathise with the grumbly, rumbly need for snacks, healthy ones keep me feeling better and help a bit to avoid migraines.I could never go until dinner without eating anything...I knew a fellow teacher who would do that! Not me!
Blessings and love... hope you are recovering from the cold xx

Just had to say that I ordered a sample box for myself and then ordered one for my friend in Wisconsin. She loves gluten - wheat - dairy - free - vegan,
NO added sugars or syrups that are nourishing and delicious, too!

Oh yummy! I think I need to contact them - it's so difficult to snack in a nutricious way - love the "grab and run" kinds, thanks for this awesome review and recommendation, Stephanie!

Hope you are feeling better each day. Hugs. ♥

Excellent review Stephanie!
I find it rather funny in that you like the ones that are a little on the sweeter side *smiles* and I like the nutty ones. :)

I hope and pray that you feel better soon. Go and sit out in the sun and let it heal you.

Love you ~ Mom

These sound wonderful! Love your review! I went over to the site and the sampler is on sale with free shipping. I couldn't find nutrition info on their site but when I googled it I was able to find calories and fat content....pretty high! Hmmmm, gotta think about it. Do any of the bars show fiber content? Couldn't find that info.

These sound really good! I love that they are made in Britain and not China! I'll have to go check out their site and see what all they have to offer. Something that makes you full and satisfied is hard to find.
Your photos are beautiful and your yard...Wow! A little piece of heaven you got there. :)
I hope you get to feeling better soon, Stephanie!
Hugs, Amy

Oh, these sound wonderful! I love the Kashi products and bars. The sweet potato flakes cereal is delicious!! I am so sorry to hear that you have been so ill, sweet friend. Praying for you now! If you feel like it, you may like to stop by my blog later, as we are giving away FIVE copies of The Kingsmen's Battle Cry CDs!!! Have a wonderful evening, and may the dear Lord bless you to feel completely better soon. :)

Hope that bug took a hike....and left the Nature Bars behind. What a nice review. They look so good.

Stephanie...we have been gone, and another trip around the corner so I couldn't sign up for the tea cup exchange this time.

I have some very sick friends...will pray for them if you think of them. Howard, cancer and had to have has lip and chin rebuild. Skin crafts from wrist and leg. Barbara, breast cancer will find out 9/15 how bad. Her husband, Bob...90% blockage, and a weak heart. Thanks dear...I know you are a prayer warrior.

I have never heard of these, Stephanie! The packaging is attractive and they look and sound quite good! :)

oh, these look great! I have tried a few different types of vegan nutrition bars and such in the past, but I'm always sort of put off by how dense they can be...I often find myself gulping water alongside them (mind you, not entirely bad that they encourage hydration). I like the variety they offer! Did you have a particular flavor you liked best?

Post script -- after seeing how the sampler box was discounted, and I've been looking for "compact" nutritional options to help get the most out of my teeny-tiny appetite, I ordered it! I'm so glad you posted this.

Hi Stephanie, Sure hope you get to feeling better. Your mountain views are beautiful. Thank you for introducing us to these snacks. I have to be careful with gluten so that caught my attention. They look healthy and the packaging is unique. I would have to stay away from the rhubarb however. I am highly allergic.
Thanks for sharing my friend. Have a great evening. Hugs and Blessings, cm

We like finding more natural snacks so I will be on the look out for these, I have been making my own because there aren't a lot out there that don't have some kind of bad thing in them and sometimes I just don't feel like making a snack up so this would be perfect.
