Set us afire, Lord, stir us, we pray-
while the world perishes, we go our way.
Purposeless, passionless, day after day;
set us afire, Lord, stir us, we pray!
- Unknown -
A passion for Thee; O Lord, set a fire in my soul, and a thirst for my God.
Hear thou my prayer, Lord, Thy power impart-
not just to serve, but to love Thee with all of my heart.
- Joe Zichterman -
O Breath of Life, come sweeping through us,
revive Thy church with life and pow'r;
O Breath of life, come cleanse, renew us,
and fit Thy Church to meet this hour.
O Wind of God, come bend us, break us,
till humbly we confess our need;
then in Thy tenderness remake us,
revive, restore - for this we plead.
O Breath of Love, come breathe within us,
renewing thought and will and heart;
come, Love of Christ, afresh to win us,
revive Thy Church in ev'ry part.
O Heart of Christ, once broken for us,
'tis there we find our strength and rest;
our broken contrite hearts now solace,
and let Thy waiting Church be blest.
Revive us, Lord!
Is zeal abating while harvest fields are vast and white?
Revive us, Lord - the world is waiting!
Equip Thy Church to spread the light.
- Bessie P. Head -
Wilt thou not revive us again:
that thy people may rejoice in thee?
- Psalm 85:6 -
And hope maketh not ashamed;
because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts
by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
- Romans 5:5 -
O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid:
O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years,
O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years,
in the midst of the years make known;
in wrath remember mercy.
- Habbakuk 3: 2 -
Vitality is essential to any Christian ministry;
complacency is deadly.
There must be the fervency of divine life infused into us
by God the Holy Spirit.
Just as a healthy vine manifests itself in producing foliage and fruit,
so it is with a healthy Christian-
he or she will bear evidence of an infectious enthusiasm
for the furtherance of the gospel
and a life that produces fruits of the Spirit.
- Amazing Grace - Kenneth W. Osbeck -
We need God's continual reviving, renewing, refreshing,
comforting, and equipping power if we are to effectively "spread the light"
and meet the needs of this hour.
Revive us again - fill each heart with Thy love;
may each soul be rekindled with fire from above.
- William Paton Mackay -
Blessings and joy to you
on this beautiful Lord's Day!

Amen to every word said in this post Stephanie.
God bless you
So timely in these days... Lovely, lovely - thank you for the beautiful scriptures and words & photos!
Beautiful, always needed words, to go with such inspiring images.
Lovely post as always!
These pictures of the fruit trees are wonderful, Stephanie, and a lovely message to go with it.
I received your "goodies box" in the mail. Thank you, thank you, my friend. Everything was wrapped so nicely, and I love all the tags and the tea bags. Right away, I opened the Irish breakfast and had a cup of tea. And how special was that pretty soft pillow with the pink roses. I appreciate you thinking of me, Stephanie, and I can't tell you how much I love to receive surprises in the mail.
You are a dear friend to me, and your goodness and light shines in a world that can be so harsh sometimes. God Bless You, Stephanie.
love, ~Sheri

Lovely photos along with your great message to us, Stephanie.
Awe..."the Divine Light infused into us, " I liked that!
I was blessed and challenged with the teaching of God's Word in church today. To continue steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship and in breaking of bread and in prayers.
What you have shared went right along with what I heard earlier.
May we be bright lights is a dark world continuing steadfastly.
Bless you!
Dearest Stephanie,
I just loved this post! From the quotes, to the verses and the hymn, and the beautiful pictures...it was such a lovely addition to my Sunday! It reminded me so much of a favorite song of mine from the Getty's which says, "O fire of God come burn in me, Renew a holy passion, Til Christ my deepest longing be, My never-failing fountain".
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful, and yet convicting post :)
Wishing you a beautiful upcoming week, and I hope you are getting to enjoy some lovely Autumn weather! It has finally arrived in my neck of the woods, and how glorious it is!!
Sending much love and many hugs to you, my friend!
Beautiful...the hymns are always so full of meaning :0) Thank you dear lady for sharing. mari
thank you dear Stephanie for these words. I was unable to attend worship this am, so your post was doubly precious today. xo
Hi Stephanie! As with many hymns that you have featured I had never heard this one before. I really like this hymn after hearing it though, and I love the tune especially as I thought I recognized an Irish flavor to it. So many Irish hymms have the same, what I call a "longing" quality in the music. I looked up the author to see where she was from, and sure enough, E. P. Head was born in Belfast.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful hymn today. :))
Beautiful images, too!
Have a great week!
You always find the perfect words to share with us, to revive our souls, sweet Stephanie. Your photos are so delightful and "fruitful". Bless your lovely, kind soul this wonderful Sunday!
Revive us indeed! Wonderful collection of words today Stephanie. Have a great week friend.
Oh, Stephanie, what a wonderful post this Lord's Day! What precious hymns and wonderful quotes. And your photos are gorgeous and such a reminder of the beauty of earth and a vision of what glory with Him will be someday. Oh, may we be revived personally and then as a Body to impact our dark world. May Jesus' name be glorified! Hugs, dear friend!
Dear Stephanie, Your Sunday posts are always a blessing my friend. You know just the right scriptures to uplift and revive indeed. Lovely photos to go with this post created by the great artist from above. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead. Blessings, Love and Joy, cm
I always enjoy your Sunday posts and this one is no different. I don't think I've heard this song before, but I appreciated it and the scriptures you shared.
A beautiful post that I am reading late in the day. Blessings to you, too, sweet girl. xo Diana
Amen! Beautiful message, verses, hymn, and photos!
amen, revive us again Lord
I needed this today as I go in to work. Every day, I've been going in afraid to fail, as I often do in the eyes of a few. I must remember that our Lord's POWER through love is my only shield against the fears. We all make mistakes, but what's worse is allowing failure to freeze us. Failure must be a step toward learning. Thank you dear friend.
Oh Stephanie...amen to this beautiful post, dear friend! What precious words and oh, how we need to daily be reminded of His wonderful Majesty and mercy!
And what lovely pictures...we live in a delightful world of beauty created by the Lord Most High!
Praying your week is simply lovely and so blessed...my mother, sister and I are on a little road trip this week and off to visit my grandmother in the mountains..oh, so delightful! Thus, I look forward to visiting again on my return...until then, how I will enjoy some peace in the great mountains!
Hugs and ever so much love to you...thank you for so faithfully sharing encouragement and beautiful Scripture with us...it revives our hearts!
Joy in Christ!

Amen, and amen!! Dear Lord, please revive your people! Shake us from our complacency and apathy, and help us to rise and do what needs to be done in these perilous times! Thank you, sweet friend, for sharing this lovely post. May the dear Lord bless you abundantly. Sending you big hugs and much love. :)
Oh how I pray this for our country and world, May everyone open their eyes to what the Lord is telling us and wanting from us, the life he has blessed us with and what he asks for us to achieve in that life time.
May your week ahead hold blessings from him!
Blessings Stephanie!!!
