Each Day Is A Day Of Thanksgiving

Now therefore, our God,
we thank thee,
and praise thy glorious name.
- I Chronicles 29:13 -

My dear friends,
each day is truly a day for thanksgiving,
and each moment of our lives is a moment that we have the privilege
of thanking our precious Lord for all that He has blessed us with.
It's easy to get caught up in our daily routines and the busyness of life,
but the Thanksgiving holiday is such a beautiful time
to pause and take a moment to think upon the many blessings
that our Heavenly Father has so richly bestowed upon us.

As I celebrated this sweet and pure holiday I was reminded of not only the physical blessings
such as loving family and friends, a warm home, food to sustain me, a car to take me places,
but also the spiritual blessings.
The third stanza of How Great Thou Art has been playing through my mind
and I would like to share the precious words with you. . .

And when I think that God His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in-
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee;
How great Thou art,
How great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Tee;
How great Thou art,
How great Thou art.
- Carl Boberg -

Sweet friends, the salvation Jesus Christ so freely offers to us
is truly the greatest blessing of all and during this Thanksgiving season
I can't help but think about the love and grace
the Lord so tenderly wraps around us.

Salvation. . .a free gift-
a gift recieved by simple faith in Jesus Christ.
A gift that is for eternity.

My Lord and Savior gladly bore my sin and shame on the cross. . .
is there anything sweeter and more humbling than that?
How I rejoice and praise His name for such a selfless act.
This Thanksgiving we have so much to be thankful for
both physical and spiritual.

Thanks to God, for boundless mercy
From Thy gracious throne above;
Thanks for every need provided
From the fullness of Thy love!
Thanks for daily toil and labor
And for rest when shadows fall;
Thanks for love of friend and neighbor
And Thy goodness unto all!
- August Ludvig Storm -

Have a beautiful Sunday!

Oh, dearest Stephanie, oh that we would each and every day "celebrate" Thanksgiving in our hearts for Him! I love the exquisite photos you've taken. What blue skies! And I have to tell you that this precious hymn struck me so deeply...especially today. Today marks the day my daddy went home to be with Jesus, and he had one of the most beautiful baritone voices. This was one of his favorite hymns, and he always sang with great love for his Lord...and it showed in his face and even his body language. There was hardly ever a dry eye when he sang. I have a cassette of many of his solos, and this is so dear. I can still hear him singing it, and it just brings tears to know that right now he with with his Savior and Lord Jesus. Oh, what a blessing and comfort. And I thank God for a daddy who shined the light of Jesus as I grew up. What a beautiful post that I shall bookmark. Hugs and much love to you and your precious family, dearest friend! (And I just love how God's timing is so beautiful!)

I loved this, Stephanie! And how true your words are!! Reminds me of a favorite quote that says, "Thanksgiving is good, but thanks-living is better." The photos are absolutely stunning of the gorgeous mountains!!

I love that old hymn and the words are such a sweet reminder of the great sacrifice that Sweet Jesus paid on that cross.

Hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend, and wishing you a beautiful upcoming week! Sending much love to you, dear friend!

You and your posts are blessings from God to me. Thanks for all you share. Love that verse of "How Great Thou Art" especially. Hugs.

Dear Stephanie! What a precious, encouraging post! I, too, love this song...as I think most every Christian does. Love and adoration for our dear Lord just wells up within my soul when I hear it. There are two spots that my family and I often come across in our travels where the mountains are SO tall around us on both sides. Almost every time we drive through those certain spots, I start belting out that song in the car! God is such an awesome God Who is worthy of every bit of our praise and gratitude! Thank you for reminding us that every day we are alive and breathing is a day of thanksgiving. Sending you much love and many hugs...you are such a dear blessing to me and to so many others! God bless you in return!!!! :)

It amazes me every day that he would die for me, such a humbling feeling that is for sure. When I feel like my actions or thoughts are not what he would be proud of I feel so bad that I must have hurt him so by behaving in that way, but when I ask for forgiveness he gives it to me and loves me like he does. Thankful for a forgiving and loving God!
