Hello, dear friends!
It's always such a blessing to have you here. . .
please know your visits and comments are a sweet gift to my heart.
For the past several months I have been busy making baby blankets.
Not for anyone in particular, mind you, but somewhere along the way I got hooked
and I can't seem to stop making them.
Not only are they perfectly sweet for a little one
they are also wonderful for adults.
You can adjust the size to a smaller or larger blanket. . .
whatever suits your purpose.
Every child is a different kind of flower,
and all together,
make this world a beautiful garden.
- Unknown -
Here is how I whip one up in a short amount of time.
Supplies Needed:
1 yard of flannel or cotton fabric
1 yard of the soft swirl or minky fabric
fabric flowers {if desired }
cutting mat and ruler
Trim the flannel or cotton fabric to the size of the minky fabric.
Lay the two pieces of fabric right sides together and pin into place.
Make sure you smooth out any wrinkles
and watch the minky fabric as it is somewhat slippery.
Sew along all four edges.
And make sure you leave a small opening
to turn the blanket right side out.
Once the blanket has been pulled out to its right side,
iron the edges on the flannel or cotton side-
don't iron the minky fabric.
Now top stitch along all four edges.
For extra sweetness I added some shabby roses
along with a fabric flower and rosette to the corner of the blanket.
As easy as pie, my friends.
Speaking of pie,
a slice sounds good right about now. . .with some coffee too :)
The blanket will be a nice size for a baby, toddler, or young child.
Even an adult could use it to cozy up with during a restful time.
Here are a few other blankets that I made reccently. . .
You will have a little bit of soft swirl or minky fabric left over
so why not whip up some baby burp cloths.
Here are a few that I made. . .
Or you can use the extra fabric
to make a matching baby doll blanket.
Simple. . .sweet. . .thoughtful.
A gift that is sure to bless anyone,
young and old.
Love, hugs, and blessings to you, sweet friends!
Thank you for stopping by today.
Some of these sweet blankets are available in my Etsy shop
Rose Petal Blessings.

Your shabby roses are just darling, Stephanie! They really dress up the baby blankets. I need to get busy and sew more baby blankets. They're kind of my speciality (spell check says that's not a word? Hmmm.) Just lovely blankets all.

These are oh-so-cute, Stephanie! I love that minky fabric...I've seen it in the store and it is incredibly soft!! I love the idea of doing blankets in different sizes, and you can never have too many throw blankets! They're one of my favorite things and so homey and cozy :)
Thank you for sharing this post today! :) Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend!
Love and hugs!
Oh I love these! Soft and cuddly are very pretty! Thanks dear Stephanie for sharing your talents & ideas!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Your baby blankets are delightfully delicious, Stephanie. Love, love, love the scrumptiousness of them all. The pink and white fabric with the children playing across it, is gorgeous.....what line of fabric is it?? What wee bairn wouldn't love to snuggle up under these pretties and float into the land of dreamtime.
Beautiful blankets!
If you are looking for something to do with them, you could donate to a hospital for parents of newborns. :)
Baby blankets are some of my most favorite things to sew, too, along with matching burp cloths. That minky and toile blanket is beautiful and so are the others you have made!
Very sweet! They are perfect baby shower gifts and hand made is always so special.
Pretty pretty baby blankets.
Merle...........
So sweet. I love the idea of using the minky fabric for one side of the blanket. I've found that a flannel baby blanket, double-sided (and I embroider the baby's name on one side) makes a much-loved baby gift. The moms I have given them to even use them as nursing covers or as a car-seat cover. Multi-purpose! Thanks for sharing this lovely idea.
I love the idea of using that "minky" fabric on one side -- how beautiful they are!
Do you have any of the doll blankets. I love your tea cup coasters. Where do you sign up for the tea cup swap?
I have worked with minky fabric quite a bit, my friend. I even made two of my granddaughters bedspreads using it. I just love the soft feel of it, but it sure makes a mess when cutting!! Your baby blankets and burp cloths are just adorable. Of course, I love your darling embellishments that you do. You're so talented and I love that you share your tutorials with us.
What a precious baby blanket! I'd love to make one of these at some point for my little girl (due in only one short month!) Hopefully I can get some spare time to do so. <3
Blessings!
Cryslyn
Oh, isn't that CUTE!!!!! For a minute there, I thought YOU were having a baby!!!!!
You are a gifted seamstress and your photos are equally as perfect. Much love to you, Stephanie!
I wish you could see my smiles...beautiful friend, beautiful.
What a beautiful and simple idea!! Our retired teachers' group made tied fleece blankets several years ago and donated them to our local Ronald McDonald House. They gave us a tour when we delivered them. I must try making a few of these. They look easy (enough for this old gal!) and so soft!! Thanks for sharing!
Those blankets are so so adorable, dear Stephanie! The rose is just a sweet touch.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Hugs and love from Portugal,

How adorable! I especially love the Winnie-the-Pooh blanket.
I've never seen such girlie baby blankets, they are adorable! The teacup exchange is on my sidebar, to remind me to sign up and invite fellow blogging sisters. Thanks for hosting it again Stephanie.
These blankets are absolutely wonderful! Our friends are expecting their 9th baby on the 29th! Yes, 9th! I have been wondering what to get them, and this is it! Once the baby is here, and we know if it's a boy or a girl, I will be ordering one of these from you!
I am so excited!
Your blankets are so sweet! I know any mom would love to receive one and with that minky material the babies would love it!
Your little baby blankets are absolutely precious. Softness is a very comforting textile for a baby and yours are super soft and cozy.
xoxo,
Vera
These are just as adorable as you dear Stephanie. I get nervous sewing minky fabric. You make it look so easy.
I will be looking for your next Tea Cup exchange. Hugs...
It looks real soft. The perfect blanket for a baby.
These are so lovely Stephanie and you make them sound so simple to make!!
I'm telling my age here but I haven't heard of minky fabric, I'm guessing we call it fake fur - don't laugh!
YES I could easily whip one of these up and I've got some sweet cotton, I just need to pop into Spotlight and pick up the minky!
And it will go in a parcel to a certain gorgeous young miss called Jessie in France!
Goodness March has come around so quickly - I'm looking forward to the Tea Cup Exchange and I've popped the beautiful button on my side bar.
Enjoy your weekend sweetie
Much love
Shane
Hi Stephanie! Your blankets are amazingly beautiful!
These are adorable! My mom makes and embroiders mink blankets! She is really good at it too!

These are so sweet! They are so soft and cuddly looking! I love the Minky fabric, such pretty colors. Have a beautiful weekend, Lynn
I love minky blankets. I make a point of walking past all the minky fabric at the fabric store just to touch it. You did a beautiful job on all of your blankets Stephanie! They are gorgeous! Have a great weekend.
Dear Stephanie, your blankets are truly adorable, I love the pretty fabrics you have used. What beautiful gifts they would make, they would become keepsakes.
Have a lovely weekend x Polly
Your baby blankets look so sweet and soft! I am sure the dear little ones who receive these blankets will enjoy cuddling in them. : )
Oh my Stephanie these are just the most darling blankets and like that you even thought to do some burp cloths with them too :) For a minute there I thought we might be hearing some news that you are expanding your family ;)
We started a new bible study at church and the girls just loved the bag I bought from you, I am using it to carry my bible and study book.
Hope you enjoy a blessed weekend!!
awwwww, so sweet!!! pooh is my favorite, i have always had a soft spot in my heart for pooh and all his wisdom!!!
Oh, Stephanie! These are precious! My favorite was the one with Pooh on it. Another idea I thought of while reading your post is, wouldn't these be so wonderful and sweet to give to dear, elderly ladies in nursing homes? They are forever needing lap quilts to cover themselves and tuck around their legs while seated in wheel chairs. This would make an amazing ministry opportunity! Recently, my mother-in-law gave us the lap quilt that someone had given to her mother, (my husband's grandmother) years ago when she was in a nursing home. Though I never got to meet her, I cherish it so much! Thanks for sharing this lovely idea with us! You are such a dear blessing!
Your blankets are lovely, so comforting.
Have a lovely weekend :)
Beautiful blankets with your gorgeous flair. I will have to put a reminder in my diary for the tea cup exchange :) Have a wonderful weekend my friend xx
Beautiful blanket! I think I'd like to have an adult sized (and themed) one! :)
Hello Stephanie,
I love this blanket! I have been looking at it on your Etsy shop and wanted to order it for my new grandbaby but I knew I had to make her something with my own hands. Thank you for sharing how you created this. I might give it a try if I can get my nerve up( I'm not a great seamstress)
Also, thank you for your lovely comment on my blog today. I answered you but then somehow managed to delete your comment and my reply. I'm still stumbling along and trying to figure out blogging too!
Have a wonderful evening my dear...
Hugs to you dear Stephanie
What darling blankets. The flower roses are just the perfect touch.
Can't wait for the Teacup/Mug Exchange.
These are gorgeous. So soft looking. Another beautiful creation by Stephanie. Hugs!
Those are beautiful Stephanie, they look so soft. I had to laugh when you said you couldn't stop making them. When I told Mark that you made a Winnie The Pooh blanket, he asked if you made it for him LOL. He loves Winnie.
The baby blankets are so cute, Stephanie. Love the fabric and the Pink color on the first one. This will make a nice gift for that special little one. The small fabric heart that you sewed on the last one is sweet. Your creative projects always make me smile, my friend.
Have a pleasant weekend.
love, ~Sheri
Those are gorgeous and whimsical! xoxo Su
Stephanie,
These are so sweet!! The fabric are darling!!
Thanks so much for your visits and kind words!!

They are adorable... I think they'll make great plaids for adults as well when watching TV on a cold evening.
I like how you clarified the blankets are for one on in particular as I saw your blog name and the word baby and my mind was spinning ;) The blankets are so sweet and I love how the minky backing peeks out around the edges of the front fabric. You will have some happy customers/recipients of your hard work. Happy weekend!
