Rejoice, For He Lives Today!

Jesus is not the "Great I WAS"
but rather the "Great I AM!"

Jesus Christ is not only a historical fact but a present-day, living reality.
All of Christianity rests upon the truth that Jesus rose from the grave victorious
 and is now seated at the Father's right hand as our personal Advocate.

"Fear not; I am the first and the last:
I am he that liveth, and was dead;
and behold, I am alive forevermore,
Revelation 1:17b, 18 {KJV}

Christ Arose
Written by
Robert Lowry, 1826 - 1899

Low in the grave He lay - Jesus, my Savior!
Waiting the coming day - Jesus, my Lord!

Vainly they watch His bed - Jesus, my Savior!
Vainly they seal the dead - Jesus, my Lord!

Death cannot keep his prey - Jesus, my Savior!
He tore the bars away - Jesus, my Lord!

Up from the grave He arose,
with a mighty triumph o'er His foes;
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
and He lives forever with His saints to reign,
He arose! He arose!
Christ arose!

"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
Matthew 28:6

Weep No More
written by
Steve Pettit

Mary went to the tomb in the morning,
But the stone had been rolled away.
So she hurried to tell the disciples,
Christ was taken from where He lay!

As her tears flowed like rain in the garden,
A clear voice sweetly called her name,
Then she turned, for she knew it was Jesus;
He's alive just as He claimed!

Place your faith in the blood of the Savior,
And your sins will be washed away.
All the power of death will be broken,
Oh, rejoice, for He lives today!

Oh, weep no more in sorrow,
He has risen and conquered the grave!
He's alive!
It is true as He promised,
Oh, rejoice, for He lives today!

"Now if we be dead with Christ,
we believe that we shall also live with him:
Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more;
death hath no more dominion over him."
Romans 6: 8 - 9

Look, Ye Saints! the Sight is Glorious
Written by
Thomas Kelly, 1769 - 1854

Look, ye saints! the sight is glorious:
See the Man of Sorrows now;
From the fight returned victorious,
Every knee to Him shall bow:
Crown Him! crown Him!
Crowns become the Victor's brow.

Crown the Savior! angels crown Him!
Rich the trophies Jesus brings;
In the seat of power enthrone Him,
While the vault of heaven rings:
Crown Him! crown Him!
Crown the Savior King of kings.

Sinners in derision crowned Him,
Mocking thus the Savior's claim;
Saints and angels crowd around Him,
Own His title, praise His name:
Crown Him! crown Him!
Spread abroad the Victor's fame!

Hark! those bursts of acclamation!
Hark! those loud triumphant chords!
Jesus takes the highest station-
O what joy the sight affords!
Crown Him! crown Him!
King of kings and Lord of lords!

My dear friends,
allow the precious truth of Jesus Christ's resurrection to thrill your life anew.
Sing with great triumph, "Christ arose!"
We serve a living Savior-
He is the King of kings and Lord of lords!

God sent His Son - they called Him Jesus:
He came to love, heal, and forgive;

He lived and died to buy my pardon,
an empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Because He lives I can face tomorrow;
because He lives all fear is gone;
because I know He holds the future,
and life is worth the living just because He lives.
- Bill Gaither -

Now let the heavens be joyful, let the earth her song begin,
let the round world keep triumph and  all that is therein;
let all things seen and unseen their notes in gladness blend,
for Christ the Lord hath risen, our joy that hath no end!
- From the early eighth century by John of Damascus -

Celebrate and rejoice this Easter season!
Allow your soul to vibrate with joy and "Alleluias"
for all that the risen Savior means to you!

Have a blessed Easter, my friends!

Ooh Stephanie, I love the opening of your post. Yes, Jesus is the "Great I Am". What a beautiful and fitting statement of truth this Easter Sunday. Thank you for sharing your lovely words and pictures were us. Happy Easter Blessings to you and your sweet family.
p.s. I went to a very early service this morning and we sang "Roll Away the Stone". Are you familiar with that song? It's so perfect for Easter.

Good afternoon my friend! We had a super morning going to the lake. We sat in the car (too late during sunrise to walk) and read scriptures in French, English and Spanish. We then took a walk at a mall, then back outside to walk along side Minnehaha Creek, then back to the car for our tea (from our thermos!) - the joy of living, hoping and transformation, all this hope rests on our faith on this EVENT we celebrate today. BE WELL, BE ALIVE!

Precious Stephanie I believe this is the most beautiful post I have seen for Easter. Everything that we hope for is available because He arose! He is my life and my all. Thank you for being such a witness for Him.

1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Oh dear Stephanie, such joy in my heart both with your beautiful images, and the old precious hymns that have a clear and strong sound, so beautiful to me! You have a way of combining beautiful pictures with quotes and hymns that bring joy into my heart in a very real way. Do you play the accordion too? I learned how to play the accordion first as a young child, and then graduated to the piano. I do so love the beautiful sound of the accordion. One of my favorite songs to sing is Because He Lives... oh how thankful I am for the life of our Lord Jesus Christ that conquered death, hell and the grave to bring us such glorious victory in our lives. Trusting you had a lovely Easter dear Stephanie, much love to you my dear friend!
