All my life long I had panted
For a draught, from some clear spring,
That I hoped would quench the burning
Of the thirst I felt within.

Feeding on the husks around me,
Till my strength was almost gone,
Longed my soul for something better,
Only still to hunger on.

Poor I was, and sought for riches,
Something that would satisfy,
But the dust I gathered round me
Only mocked my soul's sad cry.

Well of water, ever springing,
Bread of life so rich and free,
Untold wealth that never faileth,
My Redeemer is to me.

I have found Him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longing -
Thru His blood I now am saved.
- Clara Tear Williams -

I have tasted heaven's manna,
And I want no other bread.
In green pastures I am dwelling,
And my hung'ring soul is fed.

At the living fount of waters,
I have quenched my thirst for aye.
I am living in God's glory,
And my sins are washed away.
- Avis B. Christiansen -

Have a beautiful and blessed Lord's Day!
Sweet hugs to you!

Oh Stephanie, this was a lovely post and those words are so deeply meaningful. I do not believe I have ever heard of this one so it was nice to read along as my heart rested in the Lord and His unfailing love for us.

Your images were soft, tender and beautiful to go along with these words.

May you have a most wonderful day as you rest in the loving arms of our Precious Lord and Savior.

With love and hugs~~

Dear sweet Stephanie,
My friend I am so blessed by what you shared today- even more so today if that is possible, because every post is a drink of fresh ice tea or a sip of warm tea to me- warm to the soul :) To read these beautiful posts you lovingly share is so warm to my heart, inspiring me continuously to seek the Savior and not just seek him but CRAVE Him with my whole heart and self. I think my favorite is the chorus:
Clara Tear Williams' "I have found Him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longing -
Thru His blood I now am saved."

To read the hymn lyrics and ponder them is so amazing because it makes you think of what that beautiful servant of the Lord was thinking or dealing with in their own walk with God when they wrote. Pricelessly beautiful.

I want to tell you what a joy it was to read the comment I just saw that you left. Oh thank you dear friend! Your sweet words brought me so much joy and your kindness. Thank you so much for blessing me and of course with your friendship as well, always♥

Love and hugs to you! Wishing you the most blessed Lord's Day!

I am not familiar with this hymn but the lyrics are beautiful. I hope you will have a nice week.

This post goes well with the Bible study I'm participating in on Ecclesiastes. Searching for fulfillment in so many things, only to find them meaningless - the only real meaning comes when you search for it from following God. Thanks for another wonderful Sunday post!

Ah, how He does satisfy; our very souls and our smallest desires. Today was a blessed day full of the Lord Jesus Christ's goodness and mercy, as we held our first Sunday services in our new (albeit rented) building! Which our Father provided for my church in a moment of dire need, and oh my how He SATISFIED that need to the utmost and fullest, bringing glory and praise to HIS name!!!!!!!! Once again, a sweet and refreshing end to this Lord's Day, my friend. Blessings to you this week! This is one of my favorite hymns, by the way. :). Love you!
