Come, Let Us Create Something Beautiful

Hello, sweet friends!
It's time for 'Where Bloggers Create'
hosted by the lovely Karen
This is her 8th annual party
and I am tickled pink to be joining the fun for the first time ever.
Karen hosts this lovely event for all who want to show their creative spaces.

I hope you stop by Karen's blog tomorrow, Friday the 15th
to see the many creative corners from around the world.
I know you will be amazed and inspired.

Now. . .won't you come into my enchanting world
and take a peek at my little space where I spend time dreaming and creating.

{ this dress was one of the few I have made }

Back in January I redid my craft room.
I found I needed more organization
so I purchased some delightful furniture pieces at Hobby Lobby
that helped with this matter.
My favorite piece is this ladder with baskets where I keep a lot of my fat quarters.

I am the kind of person that likes to see what I have to work with
otherwise I tend to forget what I tuck away in a drawer
so these baskets are perfect since I use a lot of fat quarters for my projects.

When you enter the craft room you will find a piano awaiting you.
If you saw what my craft room looked like before
{ I'll show a before picture sometime in this post }
than you know the piano was not in the room.
We were blessed with another piano for the time being
so we tucked my "older" beauty in the craft room
and I must confess that I often take breaks from craftng
to relax and play the piano.

Behind the piano you will see a lovely quilt that my great-grandmother hand stitched
for my husband and me when we got married.
She was 90-years-old when she made it.

There is a window by the main desk where I sew and cut fabric.
The light the flows in is simply delightful
and often I can look out my window and see the birds chirping in the trees.

A box of doilies and linens rest nearby the desk.
I don't know about you, but doilies always bring a smile to my face.

If you turn around you will find the closest
which I probably won't let you see inside

The sweet little shelf on the side belonged to my mother,
and she kindly gave it to me :)

On the shelf you will find all kinds of knick knacks.
These darling little tins and spools of thread were given to me
by my lovely aunt-in-law.

And the purple floral ribbon was given to me
during the first tea cup exchange that I hosted.

On the floor is a crate of patterns
and crafting books.

Now lets turn around for the rest of the room. . .

You will see a shelf with lots of goodies.
The dolls on the top belonged
to my Grandma Betty and Grandma Dee Ann.

Speaking of my Grandma Betty,
here is a photo of her when she was quite young.
As many of you know I lost my precious Grandmother a few years ago. . .
She was the one to inspire my love for crafting.

Above my other table where I make cards and other items that need hot glue
I have a shelf that has lots of cubbies which are perfect for holding spools of ribbon and lace.

I sewed up a table curtain/skirt so that I could store things underneath
and it keeps everything nicely hidden.

On the sides of the table I added two homemade hearts
along with satin seam binding.

And I made some matching curtains
and added some embroidery hoops with the same fabric for wall decor.

I have to mention that the cute little bunting above the bird
was made be the sweet Kelly-Anne from Africa.

You will find many items in my craft room
that have been given to me from precious blogging friends.
I know many of you will be able to spot things that you have graced my craft room with :)
Blogging friends are truly amazing
and some of the kindest most giving people I know.
I love being surrounded by your gifts and just about every day I think of YOU!

The bird shelf is great for holding special lace trim and tulle.

Well, I think that about wraps up the tour of my creative space.
As promised, here is a collage of what my craft room looked like before the redo.
It was definitely a lot less "cluttered." :)
You can also see more photos of it by clicking here.

Thank you so much for coming for a visit, dear friends.
I hope you enjoyed the tour of my creative space. . .

Again, I hope you stop by Karen's blog tomorrow, Friday the 15th
to see the many other beautiful craft rooms.

Love and hugs to you!

I have always wanted to share where I create, but I fear my creative spot is not as beautiful. I create in a closet! This is where I write, where I process the photos I take.

But today, I am going to figure out what I can create today. I want to make a white bunting for my garden! Wishing you a creative day today dearest Stephanie!

Stephanie, I so love your craft room. And that it features things like shelf from your mother, quilt from ggmother, etc. AND what a great idea to use that shelf instead of drawers so you can see what you have to work with!

It is just beautiful, Stephanie, and I can see why it inspires you to also create so many lovely things. I would love to have a dedicated crafting space, but it is not possible at this season of life. So I craft in bits and pieces of both time and space!

You have done a beautiful job of organizing all of the elements that go into your lovelies! Oh my goodness, I do have dreams of organizing my space one day but am afraid it must wait until we get the new flooring, hopefully sometime this summer. Thank you for sharing your beautiful and creative space, Stephanie! Hugs!

I will have to remember to go and visit the party at Karen's blog tomorrow and see the beauty out in blog land. :)

Enjoy your day today~~

A lovely visit to see where you create Stephanie. Organization is key, isn't it, so you can see what is on hand and you've mastered this aspect.
I didn't get around to photographing my small craft studio in the basement but know I would love a bright and sunny room like you have.
I'll be visiting participants to glean ideas and enjoy the social part of Karen's party.

Oh Stephanie, I smile to think of you in your most cozy, beautiful crafting room working away on some lovely project at your sewing or crafting table :) It is most beautiful and so inviting the way you have it decorated! I loved it so much in your older post and I love it even more now if that's possible♥ What sweet additions you have and I LOVE your new furniture piece in which you're storing your fat quarters. Hobby Lobby truly has some of the neatest storage items, I just want to bring them all home.
What a joy to have all that natural light to work in and to look out your window at the Lord's creation, too.

And what a blessing indeed blogging friends are! When you were mentioning the sweet additions to your craft room that have come from the loving, kind ladies who are your blogging friends, I was thinking of what a joy it is to look in my own craft room and see the sweet fabric ornament you sent me hanging as a doorknob decoration right now and the loveliest Easter card you sent me gracing my shelf, making me smile each time I see them.

I hope you are having a blessed week, dear friend! I so enjoyed visiting you today and taking a tour through your craft room. I also want to just thank you for making my heart smile with your kind words you have left me recently- how blessed I am by our friendship and to read the notes you leave♥

Love and hugs to you!

This room is all you, Stephanie! How fun to see it again, since you have made so many changes to it since the last "tour". I can just picture you in here, busy as a bee creating pretty things as gifts or for your shop. I love how you use such pretty baskets, boxes, and shelves for organizing. I am learning how to do that as well! :) Adds such a nice touch to a room. And how fun to see so many treasures displayed...you are surrounded by love and memories as you work, my dear! Although I have to admit, your grandma's precious quilt wins hands down as my favorite thing in there. :) Perhaps one special day I will get to see it in person! Thank you for giving us this glimpse into your home, life, and heart. Love you!!!

Well, you had me at your sweet blog header before I even started the tour of your room...so many sweet touches you have added, as well as using your fabrics & trims for decor. It is just such a charming room, Stephanie.

I loved your sweet words about this amazing blogging community, and I could not agree more. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and decided to share that on my blog, I was just blown away with all the kindness that came my way. I was so humbled by the outpouring of love, and my hubby finally realized why I love blogging so much.

I have such admiration for "crafty" people like you and so many of your blog friends. Craft is not the right word, as you bring such a treasure of love, gentleness, peace, etc. In fact...Your craft room is a display of the fruits of the Spirit. That's the way I see it. And that's the way I see you dear Stephanie. Your sweet and gentle spirit is so touching and so inspiring.

As your craft room is your sanctuary....so my kitchen is mine. So glad God created us just perfect for what HE wanted. Love you dear. Blessing and love and lots of hugs.
