Wishing You A Merry Christmas!

Have yourself a
Merry little Christmas. . .

My dear, kind, and beautiful friends,
Christmas is just over a week away and
I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of joy and anticipation
as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our precious Savior.

O come all ye faithful
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels;

O Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing all that hear in heaven God's holy word.
Give to our Father glory in the Highest;

All Hail! Lord, we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning,
O Jesus! for evermore be Thy name adored.
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing;

O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
- John Wade -

Sweet friends,
please click on the video below and join me in praise and adoration
as we remember the most wonderful gift given to mankind.

And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world,
he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
- Hebrews 1:6 -

Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o’er the plains
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains

Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!

Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be
Which inspire your heavenly song?

Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!

Come to Bethlehem and see
Him Whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord, the newborn King.

Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!

See Him in a manger laid
Jesus Lord of heaven and earth;
Mary, Joseph, lend your aid,
With us sing our Savior’s birth.

Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
- French Carol -

 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called
The mighty God,
The everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace.
- Isaiah 9:6 -

 And the angel said unto her,
Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb,
and bring forth a son,
and shalt call his name Jesus.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest:
and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David
- Luke 1:30-32 -

Angels from the realms of glory,
Wing your flight o’er all the earth;
Ye who sang creation’s story
Now proclaim Messiah’s birth.

Shepherds, in the field abiding,
Watching o’er your flocks by night,
God with us is now residing;
Yonder shines the infant light:

Sages, leave your contemplations,
Brighter visions beam afar;
Seek the great Desire of nations;
Ye have seen His natal star.

Saints, before the altar bending,
Watching long in hope and fear;
Suddenly the Lord, descending,
In His temple shall appear.

Come and worship, come and worship,
Worship Christ, the newborn King.
- James Montgomery -

And she brought forth her firstborn son,
and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid him in a manger;
because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field,
keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of the Lord shone round about them:
and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them,
Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour,
which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you;
Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes,
lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel
a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
 Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men.
- Luke 2:7-14 -

While shepherds watched their flocks by night,
all seated on the ground;
the angel of the Lord came down,
and glory shone around,
and glory shone around.

"Fear not!" said he, for mighty dread
had seized their troubled mind.
"Glad tidings of great joy I bring
to all of humankind,
to all of humankind."

"To you, in David's town, this day
is born of David's line
a Savior, who is Christ the Lord,
and this shall be the sign,
and this shall be the sign:"

"The heavenly babe you there shall find
to human view displayed,
all meanly wrapped in swathing bands,
and in a manger laid,
and in a manger laid."

"All glory be to God on high,
and to the earth be peace;
good will henceforth from heaven to earth
begin and never cease,
begin and never cease!"
- Nahum Tate -

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming,
Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friends.
He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother.
And in his name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
- Placide Cappeau de Roquemaure -

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born

Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.
- Joseph Mohr -

Lovely friends,
I want to wish you a most blessed and beautiful Christmas.
It's a joy and privilege to worship our King all year round,
but what a special blessing to remember the birth of our Savior
during the Christmas season.
While talking to my mom the other day
she shared with me that when she looks upon the Christmas tree
she is reminded of the tree Christ so willingly died on. . .

But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.
- Isaiah 53:5 -

And just last night I was reading a Christmas letter
from a precious couple in our church
and the gentleman wrote that when he looks under the tree
and sees the beautifully wrapped gifts
he can't help but think about the most amazing gift of all --
salvation through Jesus Christ.

 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved.
- John 3:15-17 -

Look around, dear friends, and see
the wonders. . .
the gifts. . .
the beauty. . .
of this blessed season.

I will be taking a break from blogging
to enjoy the Christmas season with family and friends.
I hope to visit you and your blogs,
but please know that I will not be posting anything

Merry Christmas!
Love and hugs to you.

And just to let you know. . .

Well, dear Stephanie....What a delightful post, all the beauty of your creativity, and all the wonderful Christmas Carols.

We have had a hard several months with 2 funerals of dear, dear friends and a cousin, and a wedding and an 80th birthday for a friend. My dearest had both the funeral services and the wedding. They were all many miles away. We are getting too old for this so came home exhausted. Haven't visited you such a long time.

Wishing you and your family a Very Merry CHRISTmas.

Dear friend, I do hope you are having a blessed and happy Friday! I just wanted to thank you so much for your comment on my St. Louis post- seeing your comment made me smile so! Your sweet words meant so much to me and to know that you loved the pictures and that you shared that your son enjoyed the photos of the ballpark! I'm so glad :) It is funny you mentioned that, because when I was writing that part of the post, I immediately thought of you and your family because you are one of my only friends who is a huge baseball fan, too! That is so neat you all go to see the Cardinals play the Rockies!
I hope one day to make it up to Rockies' ballpark and see a game there :)

Your words were a blessing and joy to read and please know you too, dear friend, are in my thoughts and prayers and I am so thankful for you and the sweet joy of your friendship.

I hope you are enjoying this wonderful season and that your Christmas and season overall is full of blessings!
