Saved By Grace Alone

And I shall see Him
face to face,
And tell the story:
saved by grace.
- Fanny J. Crosby -

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Greater than all my sin;
How shall my tongue describe it,
Where shall its praise begin?
Taking away my burden,
Setting my spirit free;
For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Reaching to all the lost,
By it I have been pardoned,
Saved to the uttermost,
Chains have been torn asunder,
Giving me liberty;
For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Wonderful grace of Jesus,
Reaching the most defiled,
By its transforming power,
Making him God’s dear child,
Purchasing peace and heaven,
For all eternity;
And the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me.

Wonderful the matchless grace of Jesus,
Deeper than the mighty rolling sea;
Wonderful grace, all sufficient for me, for even me.
Broader than the scope of my transgressions,
Greater far than all my sin and shame,
O magnify the precious Name of Jesus.
Praise His Name!
- Haldor Lillenas -

Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
Ye ransomed from the fall;
Hail Him who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all.
Hail Him who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all.
- Edward Perronet -

I know not why God’s wondrous grace
To me He hath made known,
Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love
Redeemed me for His own.
But I know whom I have believed,
and am persuaded that he is able
to keep that which I've committed
unto him against that day.
- Daniel W. Whittle -

Oh, the love that drew salvation’s plan!
Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!
Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary!
Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty At Calvary.
- William R, Newell -

 For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
- Ephesians 2:8, 9 -

For sin shall not have dominion over you:
for ye are not under the law,
but under grace.
- Romans 6:14 -

"Jesus died for all mankind"
- every race and nation -
and yet. . .
He died for me.

Saved by grace alone!
This is all my plea:
Jesus died for all mankind,
and Jesus died for me.
- Philip Doddridge and Augustus M. Toplady -

Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found.
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
- John Newton -

The wonderful grace of Jesus will be the theme
that will echo throughout the corridors of heaven during all eternity.
It should also be the joyful exclamation of every Christian now
whenever he thinks of Calvary and the deep love of our Savior.
- Kenneth W. Osbeck -

Have a most blessed Lord's Day!
Love and hugs to you.

Tranquility Prayer Journal - Book Review

And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus.
- Philippians 4:7 -

Hello, beautiful friends!
Today I have a lovely little journal to show you
that is sure to put a smile on your face.

I would love for you to join me
for a moment of peace and quiet. . .
a moment of tranquility.

begins with a smile.
- Mother Teresa -

A Prayer and Reflection Coloring Journal
invites you to mix creative journaling and coloring
into your personal time with God.
Prayers that focus on topics such as:

being thankful,

dealing with stress and heartache,

caring for yourself and others,

listening for God’s leading,

and waiting patiently on Him

will guide your thoughts and calm your spirit.
Filled with more than 100 designs to color,
plenty of space for journaling, and 40 needs-based prayers,
Tranquility will help you express your devotion
to God with your whole heart.

a state of calmness, peacefulness, quietness, serenity.
In a hectic and busy world,
achieving this can seem impossible.
But with intentional effort,
you can escape the urgent and soak in the tranquility at every level-
heart, mind, body, and spirit.

Coloring, journaling, and drawing can also provide effective tools
for deepening your faith.
And when you allow your mind to center on THE TRUTH of God's Word
while adding color and inner creativity,
your devotional life can soar with new dimension.

As you enter into the prayers offered in this book,
spend time thinking about what you are saying to God.
Take it slow.
You may even want to personalize each prayer
to reflect the needs and hopes you have for your own life.
To make your own time even more meaningful,
write down your own prayers
and color the artwork, or create your own drawing.

Suggestions are added along the way
to further inspire you in this quiet time of reflection and prayer.
Don't worry about the end result;
let God lead the way
as you allow yourself to fully experience tranquility.

My dear friends,
this journal is simply a delight!
I must tell you that I am not much of a journal keeper. . .
okay, I don't journal at all.
My sweet mom had me keep a journal when I was in school,
but once I graduated the journals were put aside.
Oh, every once in a while
I'd be inspired and pick up a pretty journal
in order to write my thoughts down,
but the inspiration stayed for only a short time.

I'm also not much a coloring gal
and not because I don't like to color,
but rather because I can't find the time.
If I color it's when I'm sitting next to my son
and he sweetly asks me to join him as he colors his horse books.
I can't possibly say no to his precious offer.

Anyway, as I was saying. . .
this journal is perfect!
The entries can be short, sweet, and to the point.
The journal is more of a way to write down prayers
or simply share how the Lord is working in your life
rather than writing down long, detailed entries.
I can enjoy my quiet time with the Lord
while having time to spend coloring
because the pictures are not overwhelming
like some adult coloring books.
Each page in the journal has precious Scripture from God's Word
along with lovely images to color.

The journal itself is a hardcover book
which makes it sturdy and durable.
The pages are also thick so if you like using markers
I think it would be safe to say they wouldn't bleed through.
I use colored pencils so I can't say for sure about the markers.

A beautiful journal in words and pictures
and one that I would recommend to anyone.
And may I just say that it would be a lovely gift for Mother's Day.

** I was provided a copy of this book from Tyndale Publishers
in exchange for my honest review. No other compensation was received. **

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on thee:
because he trusteth in thee.
- Isaiah 26:3 -

Blessed are the peacemakers:
for they shall be called the children of God.
- Matthew 5:9 -

{ of course this would be my favorite picture }

Please know that I greatly appreciate the time you take
to visit and leave such sweet comments.
You, precious readers and friends, bring me great joy.
Have a blessed and peaceful weekend!

For Love & Honor - Book Review

Lady Sabine is harboring a skin blemish, one, that if revealed,
could cause her to be branded as a witch, put her life in danger,
and damage her chances of making a good marriage.
After all, what nobleman would want to marry a woman so flawed?

Sir Bennet is returning home to protect his family
from an imminent attack by neighboring lords who seek repayment of debts.
Without fortune or means to pay those debts,
Sir Bennet realizes his only option
is to make a marriage match with a wealthy noblewoman.
As a man of honor, he loathes the idea of courting a woman for her money,
but with time running out for his family’s safety, what other choice does he have?

As Lady Sabine and Sir Bennet are thrust together under dangerous circumstances,
will they both be able to learn to trust each other enough to share their deepest secrets?
Or will those secrets ultimately lead to their demise?

My Thoughts
For Love & Honor is a young adult romance novel
and while it has been labeled as "young adult"
I think readers of all ages will enjoy this book.
After all, I did and I'm certainly not a teenager {{smiles}}

Jody Hedlund has always been a favorite author of mine
and once again she has written a story that is sure to captivate your attention.
The characters come to life with Jody's attention to detail and personality.
Both characters have flaws,
but through God's everlasting love they are able to overcome those flaws
and live their lives to the full potential that God desires.
You will be transported back in time
as you experience the story of Lady Sabine and Sir Bennet.

For Love & Honor is a remarkable journey
of finding love, letting go, and allowing the Lord to have full reign. . .
flaws and all.

** I was given a complimentary copy of this book from BookLook Bloggers
for an honest review.
All thoughts are my own and no other compensation was received. **

Mother's Day Tea Bag Lavender Sachets

To my children,
If I had to choose between loving you and breathing. . .
I would use my last breath to tell you. . .
I love you.

Happy Wednesday, sweet friends!
It's hard to believe April is coming to an end
and May will be here before we know it
Along with May comes the joy of celebrating Mother's
or motherly role models on Mother's Day.
Since Mother's Day is less than 3 weeks away
I thought I would share a fun and easy tutorial
for lavender sachets that are perfect to give on Mother's Day.

Supplies needed:

scrap fabric
dried lavender

The reason these sachets are called "Tea Bag Lavender Sachets"
is simply because they are in the shape of a tea bag.

Cut two pieces of fabric that are
4 1/2-inches long and 3-inches wide.
Fold the two piece of fabric in half
and trim the corners as seen in the picture below.

Your fabric should look like this

Stamp a sweet message or picture
onto some white or cream cotton fabric
and then cut out the message.

Sew the stamped piece of fabric
onto the front side of the sachet.

Tuck a loop of lace or string
between the two pieces of fabric at the top,
then pin the fabric together.

Sew along the edges
and leave a small opening at the bottom
so you can add the dried lavender.
Add the lavender
and sew up the closing.

You can add whatever embellishments you want, my friends.
You can see I adorned my sachets
with fabric and lace flowers along with pretty little beads.

Easy peasy and ever so sweet.

The older I grow,
the more I realize that my mother
is the best "best friend" that I ever had.

I also made a set of sachets
with a birthday theme.
The possibilities are endless.

If you're not into sewing, my friends,
or maybe you just don't have time to make some of these
than feel free to visit my Etsy shop where these
and other Mother's Day items are available.

A very mellow kitten
that enjoys sleeping and cuddling.

Stripester is very playful
and has a lot of energy.
She was the firstborn
and seems to be the most adventurous.

10th Tea Cup and Mug Exchange Reveal

Welcome, sweet friends,
to the 10th Tea Cup and Mug Exchange reveal.
Today is the day we get to oooh and aaah over tea cup and mug loveliness.
You will find this post is filled with photos from participants who don't have blogs
and at the end of the post there is a link-up for the women who do have blogs
so we can visit them and see more beauty.
I hope you enjoy your visit and please,
take your time in viewing all of this delightfulness. . .
simply relax and soak it in.

Before we begin I want to express my gratitude
to all of you ladies who participated in the 10th Exchange.
Your participation brings me great joy and delight.
All of you truly make this event more special and beautiful.
You are a unique and precious group of ladies
and it's an honor to be able to host this exchange for you.
Thank you for simply being YOU!

As you know this was the 10th Tea Cup and Mug Exchange.
This event started with just a handful of sweet ladies
and it has grown each time with the number of participants
totaling 212 this time.
Truly amazing!

There is also a handful of precious ladies
that have participated in all or close to all of the exchanges
and I wanted to simply thank them for their faithful participation.

Linda C. from Lady Linda
Margie from Tea in the Valley
Linda W. from My Sew What Blog
Belle from Australia {no blog}
Patti from the USA {no blog}
Betty from the USA {no blog}
Gabriele from the USA {no blog}
Christy from the USA {no blog}

During the exchange I host a giveaway for the participants
and this year I am giving away two Teavana gift cards
to two lovely winners.
To find out who won
you will have to scroll to the end of the post.
Also, I have some news at the end of this post
that you will want to read about.

Finally, one last thing I would like to make mention of. . .
Sadly, there are times women sign up
that don't keep their promise of sending a package.
My desire for this exchange is for everyone to be blessed
and by being able to do that the women who join the exchange
have the option of volunteering to send an extra package if needed.
I am truly amazed at how many ladies willingly put their name in as volunteers.
This year four volunteers were needed.
I chose to send an extra package, but I still needed three more ladies
so I sent an email to the volunteers asking if they would like to send an extra package.
Within 5 minutes I heard back from close to 40 women
saying they would love to volunteer.
My sweet friends, when I read their emails I cried. . .
what love, what kindness, what selflessness!
May I just say all of you dear ladies are amazing!
I would like to bring special attention to the three ladies
who had the joy of blessing someone with a tea cup package
because the original lady did not come through:
Lisa, Kris, and Bonnie.
Hana is one that would not have received a package
had there been no volunteers.
Hane wrote me the sweetest email after receiving her package from Lisa
and I just had to share it with you.
This is what she said:

Dear Stephanie,
I want to just thank you for all that you did
to ensure that I received a package and tell you that this tradition
is one of the sweetest, most memorable things I have participated in
for quite some time that encompasses so much that I love!
Tea...tea cups...mugs...friendship...letter writing...brown paper packages ♡
This is the first time I participated in this and it has filled me with so much happiness
and left me feeling incredibly blessed.
Thanks for spreading the love, Stephanie!
Hana Belle

Let the fun begin, my friends!
Brew yourself a cup of tea, coffee, cappuccino, or hot cocoa,
grab a sweet treat, and sit back and enjoy the photos.

She was an adventurer at heart;
but oh how she loved drinking this tea
from this mug in this chair.
Oh, how she loved to be home.

Mary Anne Richardson

Congratulations, lovely ladies!
You will receive an email directly from Teavana
with the gift card attached to it.
Happy shopping!

Now for my news. . .
As you know I host this event twice a year-
once in the Spring and once in the Fall.
While I love this event and it has a special place in my heart
I am thinking I need to cut back and do the exchange only once a year.
Since the number of participants is increasing
I am finding the exchange to be a tad bit more work
and I must confess that twice a year is getting to be a bit much.
So at this time I will host the exchange as promised
this coming fall, likely sometime in September.
I will then host the next exchange in September 2018. . .
at least this is the plan.
If you would like to read more about this beloved event
please click here.

Again, many, many thanks to all of you ladies
for making the 10th Tea Cup and Mug Exchange extra lovely.

For those of you who have blogs
please link up your reveal post below.
You will notice the link-up is in word form only
and no picture will show up.

If you would like to sign up for an email notification
for the next Tea Cup and Mug Exchange
than simply click on the link below:
I will email you only once
when the time arrives for the next exchange.
