Delicious Turtle Brownies

Happy day to you, my friends!
Today I have a delicious and decedent brownie recipe to share with you
so if you're a chocolate lover, caramel lover, or pecan lover
well, this treat is for you.

There is nothing better than a friend,
unless it is a friend with chocolate.
- Charles Dickens -

1 box of chocolate brownie mix
chocolate frosting
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1/4 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
3/4 cup caramel sauce

Prepare and bake the brownies according to the directions on the package.
Let pan cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes
then poke holes all over with the back of a wooden spoon.
Pour 1/2 cup caramel over brownies
and spread into holes with a spatula.
Refrigerate brownies for one hour or freeze for 30 minutes to let the caramel set.

Once the caramel has set,
frost the brownies with the chocolate frosting
{use however much you like}.

Sprinkle the brownies with 1/2 cup chopped pecans,
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips,
and drizzle with 1/4 cup caramel sauce.

Serve immediately
or refrigerate to allow the frosting to set
to make cutting easier.

If you can't remember my name,
just say "chocolate". . .
I'll turn around.

Dear Diamond,

We all know who is really
a girl's best friend. . .

Yours Truly,
Chocolate Cake

Enjoy the remainder of your week,
sweet friends.
And may this month of May
be extra beautiful!

Love and hugs!

I shall eat chocolate,
drink coffee,
and sing happy songs.

You can find the original recipe for these turtle brownies
by clicking here.
The original recipe is made completely from scratch.
When I made these brownies I did not have a lot of time
so I used boxed brownies and ready made frosting.
The brownies were amazing
and tasted just as good as those made from scratch.

And finally,
some recent pictures of the kittens who are now 5 1/2 weeks old.

Stripester whom I have been calling "Willow"
since we now know for sure that she is a girl.

Sweet and lovely little Melly.

And Chubs. . . such a handsome fellow!

I was in awe when I saw these pictures because your chocolate turtle brownies look so incredible and moist. It's as if I could taste a bite of them through the screen. Oh, how delicious they look. And your little kittens are growing and soooo cute.

Let us eat chocolate, drink coffee, and sing happy songs together, shall we? Wishing you the happiest May days, Stephanie. This is wonderful post today, my friend.

Hi Stephanie!
Dear friend what a joy to visit you today!
Ohh how your brownie recipe is making my mouth water- it looks so delicious and they are so gooey and fudgy looking. Mmmm. & I agree with Charles Dickens ;) That quote made me smile!
I wish I had been on more often recently to see more of the kittens and their story and will have to go catch up on your posts... But oh my gracious, how precious they are. Our Lord's sweet, sweet creation and love is seen so much through their tiny, little faces. I can imagine how much you all are enjoying them, especially your little boy, I'm sure :)

Also, dear friend may I just say that your Saved By Grace Alone post previous to this was a true blessing to my heart and mind and such a beautiful reflection of our Savior.

And I also just read at the top of your blog you are feeling under the weather- I'm so sorry to hear it and am thinking of you and praying for you that you will feel so much better very, very soon.

Love and many hugs!!
