Bread Pudding

This bread pudding is to die for!
Well, maybe I wouldn't go that far,
but still, it's really, really good

My hubby loves bread pudding
and I have been on the lookout for a while now for a good recipe.
I have tried plenty
and I must confess that each one left me wondering
if I would ever find the perfect recipe.
Well, I finally found one that made all three of us smile. . .
and we may have fought over the last serving.

Here is the recipe, my friends.

Ingredients needed:
8-10 bread slices
{I used two dinner rolls and 8 hamburger buns}
3 tablespoons butter
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees,
Place 1 tablespoon of butter inside an 8x8-inch baking dish
and place in the oven to melt.
Break the bread into larger pieces
and place in the buttered baking dish.
Melt your remaining 2 tablespoons of butter
and drizzle over bread pieces.
In a bowl, mix remaining ingredients
{don't forget to beat your eggs first} until mixed well.
Pour this mixture over the bread.
Bake for 45 minutes,
or until the top of the bread pudding springs back
after lightly touching it with a fork.

I added a sweet icing to the bread pudding
and I am sorry to say I did not measure the ingredients out.
Forgive me, my friends.

I simply poured some confectioners' sugar into a bowl
and added a little bit of heavy whipping cream
until I got a nice thick consistency.
Then I poured it onto the top of the bread pudding.
Absolute perfection!

Pour yourself a cup of tea or coffee,
grab your favorite book,
kick up your feet,
and enjoy a piece. . .or two of bread pudding.

And just a special shout out to Kitty
for blessing me with this darling towel.
Isn't it just the cutest!
Happy hugs to you!

I wanted to let you know, dear friends,
that I just listed some new handmade autumn goodies

Rustic Coasters

And some pretty little tea fascinators.

Also, I mentioned over a month ago that I was having computer issues.
Well, I still am.
I took my laptop into a specialist
and he said that my hard drive is going along with my internal fan.
His recommendation. . .
a new laptop.
Until I am able to get a laptop
please bear with me as my computer works some of the time
and then other times it won't work at all!
Yes, it can be quite frustrating.
I have several posts written and scheduled to be published,
but I wanted to give you a heads up {again} that I might be sporadic
with blog visiting and responding to emails.
Everything will work out in due time
and I plan on having a new, working laptop
in time for the tea cup and mug exchange.

Thank you for your patience,
sweet friends!

Your recipe reminds me of my grandmother. I remember her tearing up the bread in little pieces and the smell of cinnamon. I haven't made it in years. Thanks for the reminder and the memories.

Hi Stephanie, So sorry about your computer. We have always loved bread pudding. Many years ago there was a local restaurant that served bread pudding with a lemon glaze - when they took it off the menu, I thought we would cry! lol Thx for this recipe. I love your new items that you have made. So pretty. Due to health, I am on an extended blog break but I check in occasionally. All the best to you.
